Flatland Cavalry will release their fifth studio album, ‘Work of Heart,’ on March 27 via Lost Highway. The 12-track collection was recorded at Matchbox Studios in Austin with producer Dwight A. Baker and finds the Texas six-piece expanding their sound while staying rooted in the storytelling that defines them. The record gathers slow-burning love songs, small-town reflections, and wide-open West Texas narratives into a cohesive, contemplative statement.
“This album is a collection of songs of life, love, and loss collected over a season of living, learning, and growing,” says frontman Cleto Cordero. Lead singles “Gone,” “Never Comin’ Back,” and “On and On” preview the project’s emotional range, with “Never Comin’ Back” debuting at No. 57 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Written alongside collaborators including Ray Fulcher, Cole Taylor, and Luke Laird, the album balances intimacy with sweeping production.
Currently on the road supporting Lainey Wilson across Australia and New Zealand, Flatland Cavalry will launch a U.S. headlining run March 19 in Mobile, Alabama. Additional dates include support slots with Dwight Yoakam and Morgan Wallen, as well as appearances at Troubadour Festival and Tortuga Music Festival, continuing a busy season as ‘Work of Heart’ arrives.
