Norwegian metal pioneers VREID release “Loving The Dead,” featuring Djerv vocalist Agnete Kjølsrud and Jackass icon Chris Pontius, taken from their upcoming album ‘The Skies Turn Black,’ out March 6 via Indie Recordings. The track stands as the final single before the album’s arrival, merging VREID’s raw, atmospheric force with Kjølsrud’s haunting vocal intensity in a collaboration that cuts deep and lingers.
Directed by Ulvar Gansum and filmed inside a church in Oslo, the cinematic video follows Pontius as he drifts from barroom chaos into a ritual charged landscape, drawn toward Kjølsrud’s commanding presence. “We wanted to create something cinematic and unexpected,” says Jarle Kvale. Pontius adds, “It didn’t feel strange at all. It felt natural.” Co written with Kjølsrud, the song moves through shadow and survival, inviting listeners to find their own meaning within its dark, Lynch inspired atmosphere.
