Philadelphia Punk Institution The Menzingers Return With Gritty New Single “Nobody’s Heroes”

Philadelphia-based punk institution The Menzingers have released their new single, “Nobody’s Heroes”, marking their first musical output since the 2023 album ‘Some Of It Was True’. Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Will Yip at Memory Music Studios in South Philly, the track sharpens the band’s signature working-class grit and indie punk swagger. This recording adds significant depth to their established Heartland-rock sound through a polished yet raw production style. The single arrives alongside a self-directed, DIY in-studio performance video filmed in their Philadelphia creative space.

The song originated during a period of personal transition for guitarist and vocalist Tom May. Vocalist and guitarist Greg Barnett notes that while the writing began as a response to May’s divorce, the narrative expanded during the creative process. “‘Nobody’s Heroes’ is the story of The Menzingers (how we’re at our best when we’re ourselves),” Barnett explains. The track functions as a definitive statement on the band’s identity and collective endurance. This release maintains the momentum of their decade-spanning career while grounding the music in their local roots.
