Arkells Drop Breezy New Single “Ride” Featuring GROUPLOVE Ahead of April Album ‘Between Us’

Arkells drop “Ride” today, the fourth single from their forthcoming album ‘Between Us’, due April 17 via Universal Music Canada and Virgin Music Group. The track features GROUPLOVE, whose layered vocals and punching falsettos lock in immediately with Arkells’ warm indie-pop groove. On the surface it’s a song about cycling through the city. Underneath, it’s about resisting the pull of materialism in favour of something simpler and more alive. “When Christian and Hannah sing together, we feel a chemical reaction to their voices,” says frontman Max Kerman. “That pure, explosive freedom we needed in the song.” Listen here.

‘Between Us’ is produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Death Cab for Cutie, Wallows) and arrives as a genuinely exciting chapter for the nine-time JUNO Award winners. The album follows singles “Next Summer,” “What Good?,” and “Money” (featuring Portugal. The Man), with “Ride” rounding out a strong early run of releases. Pre-orders are live now on vinyl and CD, including a signed edition on grass-green vinyl, with cover photography by Pelle Cass shot atop Hamilton’s Jackson Square rooftop.

The European and UK leg of the Between Us Tour is underway now, with shows in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK through March 20. Both Manchester and London dates are sold out. North American dates follow in April, running through June, with a series of Canadian “City Takeovers” featuring multi-night runs in small clubs across Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto, many of which the band hasn’t played in over a decade. Several of those dates are already sold out.

Arkells also perform at the 2026 JUNO Awards on March 29 at TD Coliseum in Hamilton, their hometown. The band made a surprise appearance there in December 2025 as guests of the Jonas Brothers, delivering a performance of fan favourite “Leather Jacket” to a sold-out crowd.
