Josh Groban is scaling new emotional heights with the announcement of his upcoming album ‘Cinematic’, arriving May 8 via Reprise Records. The 10-track collection serves as a sweeping tribute to the world of film, featuring reimagined classics from The Godfather, Casablanca, and The Lion King. Produced by Greg Wells, the project was recorded in the creative hubs of Los Angeles and London to capture the grand orchestral scale required for these iconic scores. To herald the release, Groban has shared a soaring rendition of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” offering an immediate glimpse into the project’s dramatic depth.

The album is a transportive experience that bridges the gap between nostalgia and modern vocal authority. Standout moments include a stirring duet of “Unchained Melody” with Jennifer Hudson and a personal collaboration on “Moon River” featuring his father, Jack Groban, on trumpet. “Recording this album felt like stepping into some of the most iconic moments in film history,” Groban explains. “I wanted to honor that feeling—the nostalgia, the drama, the romance—while bringing my own voice and perspective to these timeless songs.” This project reinforces his status as a primary interpreter of the Great American songbook and beyond.

The announcement arrives as Groban’s “GEMS World Tour” gathers significant international momentum. Following a string of sold-out performances across Asia and Oceania, Groban is set to bring his high-impact live show to Europe later this month with stops at London’s O2 and the Grand Rex in Paris. This summer, the tour moves into North American arenas with special guest Jennifer Hudson, including milestone dates at Madison Square Garden and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Groban will also return to the desert this fall for a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

With ‘Cinematic’, Groban is ensuring that these generational scores remain vital in the current musical landscape. From the Sicilian-language intensity of “Brucia La Terra” to the powerhouse delivery of “Skyfall,” the album showcases his dynamic vocal prowess at its most versatile. This is an essential release for those who appreciate the intersection of high-fidelity production and elite vocal performance. Tickets for all 2026 tour dates and the Las Vegas residency are available now.
