Fifty years after ‘Takin’ It To The Streets’ reshaped what the Doobie Brothers could be, the band is marking the milestone properly. The group announces North American fall dates for their “Walk This Road Tour”, produced by Live Nation, kicking off September 26th in Northfield, Ohio and wrapping October 21st in Estero, Florida. The run follows their previously announced summer dates with Carlos Santana.
The timing is loaded with significance. ‘Takin’ It To The Streets’, released in 1976 on Warner Bros. Records, was the band’s sixth studio album and the first to feature Michael McDonald on lead vocals and keys, introducing hits “Takin’ It To The Streets” and “It Keeps You Runnin’.” In honor of the anniversary, Rhino Records releases ‘Takin’ It To The Streets (Rhino Reserve)’ on July 10th, cut from original analog masters by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing.
The tour also supports ‘Walk This Road’, the band’s 16th studio album, released in 2025 to critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone calling it “vintage Doobies.” The record marks the first time principal members Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John McFee, and Michael McDonald have recorded together in the studio in 40 years.
Citi presale begins March 24th at 10:00 AM local time, artist presale follows March 25th, with general on-sale starting March 27th at 10:00 AM local time. VIP packages are available.
