Eagles have released a previously unheard live recording of “Lyin’ Eyes,” captured at Anaheim Stadium on September 28, 1975, previewing the upcoming deluxe edition of ‘One of These Nights’ due May 1st via Rhino Records. The original 1975 album was a landmark, earning the band their first Grammy Award and launching a run of four consecutive No. 1 albums. “Lyin’ Eyes” itself won the Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, and the album has since been certified quadruple platinum. The new mix for the deluxe edition was handled by Rob Jacobs, with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
The live recording itself is a genuine historical document. Captured at the Sunshine Festival at the end of the ‘One of These Nights’ tour, it features Henley, Glenn Frey, Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, and Don Felder, and marks Leadon’s final performance with the band. Joe Walsh, not yet an official member, joins for the encore to perform “Rocky Mountain Way.” The set also includes a cover of Chuck Berry’s “Carol,” the first time any recording of the song has appeared on an Eagles release. The full 16-song concert will be available across a 3 CD/Blu-ray set and a 3 LP version, both dropping May 1st, with Dolby Atmos and high-resolution stereo mixes on the Blu-ray.
