Lost Highway Records is rolling out a major 25th anniversary celebration for the incredibly influential ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ soundtrack, starting with a special vinyl gatefold edition release on February 20th. This cultural touchstone, which sparked a 21st-century renaissance of American roots music, was primarily sold as a CD when it was first released, but the new anniversary edition gives collectors three exclusive vinyl variations: Standard Black, Sunshine Gold via the Lost Highway store, and Dapper Dan Red at independent record stores. The celebration continues on February 28th when producer T Bone Burnett and Lost Highway present a special event on the Grand Ole Opry stage, which will feature artists from the original soundtrack as part of the Opry’s 100th anniversary. Produced by Burnett for the 2000 Coen Brothers’ film, the album was the biggest-selling soundtrack of its decade and won multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
