Madonna’s long-rumored project, Veronica Electronica, featuring new edits and rare remixes plus a previously unreleased song “Gone Gone Gone” from her universally acclaimed album Ray of Light, is out now. The first pressing of vinyl sold out in an hour during the pre-order. Due to the overwhelming demand, another pressing of the limited clear vinyl is due out on October 10th, and for the first time, a CD version. Vinyl and CD orders can be placed from Madonna.com and Rhino.com
Veronica Electronica, an eight-track companion to Ray of Light, was originally envisioned by Madonna as a “remix, odyssey” album in 1998 and named after the alter ego Madonna used as inspiration during the recording process of Ray of Light. The project was ultimately sidelined by the original album’s enormous success and cavalcade of hit singles that dominated for more than a year. Ray of Light, considered a pivotal album in Madonna’s peerless career, went on to sell over 16 million copies worldwide and earned Madonna four GRAMMY Awards, including Best Pop Album.
More than 25 years later, that long-awaited concept finally comes to life. The collection features newly edited versions of club remixes by Peter Rauhofer, William Orbit, Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone, along with the original demo of “Gone, Gone, Gone”— a previously unreleased recording produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels.
