“Total Eclipse of the Heart,” written and produced by Jim Steinman, was the lead single from Bonnie Tyler’s 1983 album Faster Than the Speed of Night. Recorded in 1982 as a duet with Rory Dodd, it became her biggest hit, topping the UK chart and spending four weeks at #1 in the US. Selling over six million copies worldwide and earning platinum status, it remains an ’80s classic, even voted the UK’s third-favourite ’80s #1 in a 2015 ITV poll.
