“Bright Star” Opens Tonight at CAA Theatre — Toronto Premiere Extends Run by Popular Demand

David and Hannah Mirvish and Garner Theatre Productions are proud to present the Toronto premiere of Bright Star, the acclaimed Broadway musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. Performances begin tonight at the CAA Theatre, and due to overwhelming demand, the run has been extended an additional week. Bright Star will now play until November 2, 2025.

About Bright Star
Inspired by a true story, Bright Star features a Tony Award-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. The sweeping tale follows literary editor Alice Murphy, who reconnects with her past after meeting a young soldier returning from World War II. With beautiful melodies and heartfelt storytelling, Bright Star unfolds as a deeply moving theatrical journey filled with hope, redemption, and the transformative power of love.

Created by Steve Martin (music, book & story) and Edie Brickell (music, lyrics & story), the Toronto production is directed by Jacob Wolstencroft with music direction by Donna Garner, choreography by Lisa Goebel, set design by Brandon Kleiman, lighting design by Jason Hand, sound design by Deanna Choi, costume design by Joyce Padua, and props by Randy Pryce.
