Back in November 1988, Phil Collins stopped by Late Night with David Letterman to promote his film Buster and couldn’t resist joining the house band. Behind the drum kit, Collins locked in with the group like he’d been there all along, grinning through every fill. It was one of those rare late-night TV moments where a superstar felt completely at home just being a musician.
