Rob Scallon Builds A Semi-Hollow Concrete Guitar Inspired By The Gibson ES-335

Musician Rob Scallon and Modustrial Maker’s Mike Cliff have taken guitar building to bold new territory with a semi-hollow electric crafted from 3/8″-thick concrete walls. Modeled after the Gibson ES-335, the body was shaped using melamine molds, insulation foam, and 3D-printed parts. Reinforced with glass fibers, the result is a surprisingly playable concrete guitar that blurs the line between instrument and sculpture.
