‘Bonfires’ is where it all began for Written By Wolves — the very first song the band ever wrote, now reborn for their 10th anniversary. Originally a live fan favorite that never saw an official release, the track has been resurrected for 2025 as part of The Archives, a physical re-release celebrating their early material.
“‘Bonfires’ is the first track we ever wrote so it will always hold a special place in our hearts,” says vocalist Michael Murphy. “When the idea came up for our 10-year anniversary show and The Archives we felt it was the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into a piece of Written By Wolves history and see if we could bring it into line with where we are at as a band right now.”
The new version of ‘Bonfires’ captures everything that defines Written By Wolves — cinematic scope, high-octane energy, and emotional depth. The accompanying video, filmed at their sold-out anniversary show at Auckland’s Q Theatre, showcases the band’s commanding live presence and the connection that has helped them surpass 100 million Spotify streams and build a global following. More than a re-release, ‘Bonfires’ is a symbol of evolution, resilience, and the unbreakable flame that continues to drive the band forward.
