Big Big Train Announce 16th Studio Album ‘Woodcut’ Out February 6 via InsideOutMusic

Progressive rock collective Big Big Train will release their 16th studio album ‘Woodcut’ on February 6, 2026, via InsideOutMusic. The landmark record marks the band’s first-ever full-length concept album, weaving a continuous narrative about creativity, sacrifice, and the fine line between inspiration and madness. The seven-member lineup, spanning six countries, delivers a sprawling 66-minute opus featuring 16 interconnected tracks.

The album’s first single, “The Artist,” arrives alongside a visually stunning video by Crystal Spotlight. “Woodcut tells the story of a character we call The Artist, who is struggling with his creativity and with life,” explains bassist Gregory Spawton. Produced by frontman Alberto Bravin, the album features over 400 recorded tracks and a striking woodcut cover design by Dorset-based artist Robin Mackenzie. Available in multiple formats — including Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround editions — ‘Woodcut’ stands as a handcrafted testament to Big Big Train’s enduring artistry and progressive ambition.
