Sébastien Tellier Teams Up With Nile Rodgers and Slayyyter For Funky New Single “Thrill Of The Night”

An essential figure of the French Touch movement, Sébastien Tellier opens a new chapter in his career with the announcement of his new studio album, Kiss The Beast

After the introspective ballad “Naïf de Cœur”, Tellier continues his exploration of the Kiss The Beast universe with “Thrill Of The Night”, a disco track with a distinctly French touch, created in collaboration with pop disruptor Slayyyter and the legendary Nile Rodgers on guitar. Produced by Oscar Holter (The Weeknd, Katy Perry etc.) and SebastiAn, “Thrill Of The Night” is a song rooted in sharing and celebration.

Thrill Of The Night was made “with the desire to relive those club years: the dream of the night as we like to imagine it, filled with freedom and festive excitement. Everything becomes possible, nothing is unthinkable,” Tellier explains.

“I was looking for a female voice, and the American singer Slayyyter perfectly met the technical demands of the song. She brought a very Studio 54 tone to it – and so did Nile Rodgers, whose joyful guitar playing was ideal here. It was a dream to have him on this track!” he concludes.

“I have always been a huge fan of Sebastian Tellier and Nile Rodgers, so to be on this song is such an honor. I went to Paris last year and recorded the song at Motorbass studios with Sebastian Tellier and SebastiAn which was such a dream come true, both have influenced my own music so much and were such a pleasure to work with. To create and record in such an iconic space with people I admire felt very full circle. A year later I came back to Paris to shoot the music video, and I’m so happy for it to be out in the world.” Slayyyter adds.

Alongside his new album, Sébastien Tellier announces his big return to the stage in 2026 with a tour in France and across Europe, with dates already selling out!

We last saw him with the synthetic storytelling of the album Domesticated in 2020. Since then, Sébastien Tellier has been far from idle, working on three film scores, releasing two EPs, producing for some of his peers, and delivering one of the most memorable performances at the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024 with his timeless “La Ritournelle.” Twenty years earlier, the release of that track on his second album Politics had already established Tellier as one of the most charismatic artists of the 21st century.

A talented multi-instrumentalist, he has explored diverse musical territories ranging from pop and folk(s) to electronic. The result has been numerous tracks that have become cult classics: “Universe,” “L’amour et la violence,” “Divine,” “Roche,” “Cochon ville,” “Fingers of Steel,” “A Ballet”… All of this accompanied by his unmistakable signature style: long hair and beard, cap, and dark sunglasses. This unique dandyism has led him to collaborate regularly with major fashion houses, captivated by Sébastien Tellier’s untamed elegance.

Growing up in the suburbs of $t. Louis, Slayyyter worshipped pop culture form afar, a devout acolyte of such Top 40 stalwarts as Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. After dropping out of college, she began to record music as Slayyyter, a pseudonym from her favorite Dazed and Confused character. Powered up by “Daddy AF” and “Mine,” her self-titled debut mixtape Slayyyter, generated over 100 million streams and counting. She went on to $ell out her very first headline tour and maintained her momentum with the full-length debut, Troubled Paradise, beyond widespread praise from Billboard, Bustle, MTV, NME, PAPER Mag, Uproxx, and more, Pitchfork noted, “her star quality has supernova potential,” and Rolling Stone raved, “The internet is a pop star’s game, and Slayyyter is winning.” In 2023, Slayyyter released her second full-length offering Starfucker, along with a deluxe version featuring three additional tracks. The album saw praise from Variety, Rolling Stone, Interview Mag, Billboard, and PAPER, among others. Bringing the album to life to her engaged fanbase, Slayyyter’s headline Club Valentine tour saw sold-out stops across the U.S., United Kingdom, and Ireland. Most recently, Slayyyter hit the road with Kesha on the Tits Out Tour, where she delivered high-energy performances to packed venues across North America. Fueled by momentum, $layyyter is primed for reinvention and ready to unleash her newest era with full force.
