Isabel Rumble Finds Strength In Vulnerability On The Gentle New Album ‘Hold Everything Lightly’

Regional New South Wales indie-folk artist Isabel Rumble has released her second studio album, ‘Hold Everything Lightly’, a ten-track collection that explores the intersection of change and acceptance. Recorded at the Windsong Pavilion on the Sapphire Coast and produced by Heath Cullen, the record utilizes a textured palette of fingerpicked guitars, bowed strings, and piano to support Rumble’s weightless vocal delivery. The songwriting emerged from a period of significant life transition, serving as a raw and honest processing of internal landscapes. Tracks like “Soften” and “Digesting History” highlight a shift toward more reflective and vulnerable compositions than those found on her 2023 debut. This album stands as a grounded yet ethereal meditation on resilience through softness.

To support the release, Rumble embarked on a national headline tour that featured intimate performances in unique spaces such as the Little Lost Bookshop and candlelit town halls. The run included a significant full-band launch at Melbourne’s Brunswick Ballroom alongside a rotating cast of special guests including Kris Mizzi and Robyn Martin. These live sets were designed for deep listening, mirroring the slow-river current of the album’s arrangements. With recent international showcases in the UK and Ireland already under her belt, this latest project reinforces Rumble’s reputation as a captivating voice in the Australian folk community. The instrumentation, featuring subtle slide guitar and brushed percussion, creates a sonically expansive world that invites the listener to find stillness.
