Wolfgang Van Halen Returns To Normalcy In The “Same Old Song” Video From New Album ‘The End’

Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist Wolfgang Van Halen has released his third studio album, The End, through BMG. Recorded at the historic 5150 Studio, the ten-track project marks a definitive evolution for the artist, who continues his tradition of performing every instrument and vocal part himself. To celebrate the release, Wolfgang shared the music video for “Same Old Song,” directed by JT Ibanez. The visual picks up immediately after the chaotic events of his previous video for the title track—a Robert Rodriguez-directed horror piece—revealing those supernatural encounters to be a dream as the band returns to a standard rehearsal setting. This latest installment of the “Mammoth-verse” showcases the high-energy live performance style that has become a hallmark of the project.

Produced by longtime collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette, the 39-minute album demonstrates a significant growth in songwriting and sonic confidence. The record moves from the hypnotic textures of the opener “One Of A Kind” to the driving, infectious rhythms of the closer “All In Good Time.” Leading up to the full release, the title track “The End” secured a No. 1 position on active rock radio, supported by a cinematic video featuring cameos from industry icons like Slash, Danny Trejo, and Myles Kennedy. Other singles such as the top-20 hit “The Spell” and the aggressive “I Really Wanna” have further established the record’s commercial momentum. This collection represents a technically ambitious and deeply personal step forward for Wolfgang as a solo creator.
