Morrissey announces his fourteenth solo studio album, ‘Make-Up Is A Lie’, out now via Sire Records, marking his first album in more than five years and his return to the label. The announcement arrives alongside the release of the title track “Make-up is a Lie,” which also serves as the album’s lead single. Recorded at Studio La Fabrique in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and produced by Joe Chiccarelli, the album spans twelve tracks and includes a cover of Roxy Music’s 1973 song “Amazona,” alongside new material written and recorded with longtime collaborators and band members.
The release coincides with Morrissey’s ongoing 2026 world tour, which continues across the United States, the Dominican Republic, Europe, and the U.K. The album brings together contributions from Jesse Tobias, Camila Grey, Carmen Vandenberg, Juan Galeano, Alain Whyte, Gustavo Manzur, and Brendan Buckley, with “Make-up is a Lie” co-written by Camila Grey. The record presents a focused studio statement shaped by layered arrangements and direct lyrical themes, adding a new chapter to Morrissey’s catalog while connecting with the momentum of his current live run.
