Broadway Sensation ‘The Great Gatsby’ Roars Into Toronto For Exclusive Summer Engagement

The North American tour of the smash hit Broadway musical ‘The Great Gatsby’ arrives at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre from August 4 to September 6, 2026. Based on the beloved novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, this production brings the glitz and glamour of the Roaring Twenties to the Toronto stage. The show features a Tony Award winning costume design by Linda Cho and a jazz-infused score that transports audiences to an era of mystery and extravagance. This grand spectacle explodes with life and energy as it follows millionaire Jay Gatsby in his relentless pursuit of Daisy Buchanan.

The touring cast is led by Jake David Smith as Jay Gatsby and Senzel Ahmady as Daisy Buchanan. Producer Chunsoo Shin says “Jake David Smith is that rare leading man who marries effortless charisma with a knockout voice” and notes that Ahmady “brings a new dimension to Daisy Buchanan” with her vulnerability and strength. The principal company also includes Joshua Grosso as Nick Carraway, Leanne Robinson as Jordan Baker, Lila Coogan as Myrtle Wilson, Will Branner as Tom Buchanan, Tally Sessions as George Wilson, and Edward Staudenmayer as Meyer Wolfsheim.

This production honors the original novel while speaking clearly to today’s audiences through a book by Kait Kerrigan and direction by Marc Bruni. The Estate of F. Scott Fitzgerald describes the stage show as a “terrific new iteration of this classic work” and finds it thrilling to see these indelible characters come to life. The musical has already broken box office records on Broadway and in its world premiere engagement at Paper Mill Playhouse. Audiences can expect a visual extravaganza featuring scenic and projection design by Paul Tate de Poo III and an electrifying score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen.

Tickets for the limited five week engagement went on sale on November 17, 2025, and remain available through the Mirvish website and box office. This global sensation has earned numerous accolades, including the 2024 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical. The production features choreography by Dominique Kelley and sound design by Brian Ronan to create a truly immersive theatrical experience. Whether through the lens of a classic tragedy or a grand crowd-pleasing spectacle, this iteration of the iconic tale remains the party to end all parties.
