Taylor Swift marks Record Store Day 2026 with a special 7-inch release of “Elizabeth Taylor” from her Billboard 200-topping album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. The single, pressed on galactic purple-and-blue vinyl under the title “Cry My Eyes Violet Glitter,” arrives April 18 as an exclusive offering for independent record shops. Originally debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the track stands apart from the album’s chart-topping hits “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite,” both of which reached No. 1.
‘The Life of a Showgirl’ spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, further cementing Swift’s dominance in this era. “Elizabeth Taylor” pays tribute to the legendary film icon, drawing praise from Christopher Wilding, who said, “They are both the very embodiment of female empowerment. The way [Swift] has deftly captured the similarities and parallel tracks in their careers and personal lives is delightful.” Record Store Day returns April 18, with Swift once again at the center of the vinyl conversation.
