Golf Documentary ‘Rory McIlroy The Masters Wait’ Premieres March 30 On Prime Video

Prime Video has announced a March 30 premiere for the new documentary ‘Rory McIlroy The Masters Wait’, a feature-length film chronicling Rory McIlroy’s journey to winning the Masters and completing golf’s career Grand Slam. The documentary will debut exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The film centers on McIlroy’s long pursuit of victory at Augusta National Golf Club, where the Masters Tournament had eluded him for more than a decade. After years of near misses and heartbreaks, McIlroy finally captured the title in 2025 following a dramatic playoff with Justin Rose, securing the final major championship needed to complete the rare career Grand Slam.

Directed by Drea Cooper, the documentary follows McIlroy’s relationship with Augusta National and revisits key moments from his career, including the difficult 2011 Masters when he lost a four-shot lead during the final round. Built around the decisive final round of the 2025 tournament, the film explores the pressure, setbacks, and resilience behind one of golf’s most anticipated victories.

‘Rory McIlroy The Masters Wait’ is produced by Dan Lindsay, TJ Martin, Zoe Morrison, and Ben Piner for Everyone Else in association with Firethorn Productions. Prime Video will also stream additional Masters coverage beginning with the 2026 tournament, offering live first and second round coverage ahead of ESPN’s broadcast each day.
