Genesis fans have a new way to experience one of progressive rock’s most ambitious albums. New York City artist Nathaniel Barlam created a full animated interpretation of Genesis’s 1974 double album ‘The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway,’ translating the record’s surreal lyrics and narrative into visual form. The film follows the story of Rael as each song unfolds, giving new life to one of the band’s most mythic works. Barlam spent more than two years developing the animation between April 2017 and December 2019, carefully illustrating the album’s characters, imagery, and shifting landscapes while balancing the project with other creative work.
