Sevendust have never sounded more locked in. The Atlanta metal veterans return with “Is This The Real You,” the latest preview of their 15th studio album ‘One’, arriving May 1 via Napalm Records. The track hits exactly the way longtime fans expect, driving, emotionally charged, and built on the blend of aggression and melody that has kept this band at the top of rock radio for nearly three decades.
“It was as honest, natural, and pure as any song can be,” says guitarist John Connolly. “If you really want to know what Sevendust sounds like in 2026, ‘Is This The Real You?’ gives you a good idea.” That kind of confidence is earned, and the song backs it up completely.
The accompanying animated music video, directed by Paul Ribera, follows a sharply dressed character with the power to compel people into actions they would not normally take. As the story unfolds, each character confronts a hidden side of themselves, mirroring vocalist Lajon Witherspoon’s haunting chorus question. The clip builds panel by panel with dramatic zooms toward a dark, devilish finale that matches the song’s intensity perfectly.
‘One’ delivers the full Sevendust experience across its runtime, from the driving opening riff of the title track through the dreamy, atmospheric vocal outro of “Misdirection.” Tracks like “Unbreakable” and “We Won” stand alongside the band’s most iconic material. Nearly 30 years in, Sevendust remains a vital force, and ‘One’ makes that case without hesitation.
