Before ‘Thriller’ became the best-selling album of all time, it opened with this, a breezy, warmhearted duet between Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney that showed a different side of both artists entirely. “The Girl Is Mine,” released in 1982, was actually the first single from ‘Thriller,’ arriving ahead of the album and giving the world a charming, playful exchange between two of music’s most iconic figures at the height of their respective powers.
