Stella Cole Brings Her Sold-Out Café Carlyle Residency to Record With ‘Live at Café Carlyle’

Stella Cole’s sold-out 2025 debut residency at Café Carlyle is now a record. ‘Live at Café Carlyle’ arrives June 26 via Decca Records US, captured across 5 nights at one of New York City’s most storied rooms, and today she shares the first single, a rendition of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, as an early glimpse into what the full album holds. Recorded by Tyler McDiarmid during Cole’s June 17-21, 2025 residency, produced by GRAMMY winner Matt Pierson, and mixed and mastered by Christopher Allen, the album documents an evening of warmth, wit, and effortless sophistication. Backed by a trio of Michael Kanan on piano, Michael Migliore on bass, and Hank Allen-Barfield on drums, Cole moves through a program rooted in film and classic standards, songs she first encountered through golden-age Hollywood musicals and timeless cinematic ballads, all reimagined through a voice and interpretive sensibility that feels both deeply traditional and entirely her own.

Hailing from Springfield, Illinois, Cole first built her following through luminous online interpretations of American standards, earning praise from artists including James Taylor and quickly finding her way to stages at Birdland, Carnegie Hall, and Madison Square Garden. Her most recent studio release, ‘It’s Magic,’ produced by Pierson and arranged by Alan Broadbent, established her gift for intimate storytelling through vintage love songs. ‘Live at Café Carlyle’ brings that same emotional clarity into a room where audience connection and storytelling are inseparable from the music itself.

The album is available for pre-order now in vinyl, CD, and digital formats. Cole returns to Café Carlyle for a 5-night engagement running May 12 through 16, followed by a full run of US tour dates through the summer.
