Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band turn the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 25th anniversary into a star-studded marathon in this October 2009 set from Madison Square Garden. The guest list reads like a hall of fame in itself. Springsteen trades verses with Sam Moore on “Hold On, I’m Comin'” and “Soul Man,” brings out Tom Morello for “The Ghost of Tom Joad” and “London Calling,” and welcomes John Fogerty for “Fortunate Son” and “Oh, Pretty Woman.” Billy Joel joins for “New York State of Mind” and “Born to Run,” Darlene Love lends her voice to “A Fine Fine Boy,” and the whole cast piles on for a closing “Higher and Higher.” A towering “Jungleland” anchors the night, with bonus cuts “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” and “Badlands” rounding it out.
