0

By Mitch Rice

One of the major evolutions of the online gaming industry is integrating high-definition images and sounds to provide players with an immersive gaming experience. Gone are the days when these platforms focused on spinning reels, cards, and table designs to recreate the same conventional casino experience. Specifically, slots are arguably the most transformed in this regard. Video slots are often inspired by unique themes. Some are adapted from popular movies and TV shows to recreate a nostalgic experience.

Today, game developers integrate celebratory sounds and music to elevate players’ gaming experience. From the moment you launch a game to every single spin and celebratory sound, video slots offer orchestral masterpieces and electronic beats. All these, fused with the beautiful display and interface, make slots the most popular and often played games in online casinos. This article shares insights about popular games with the best music you can play.

Guns N’ Roses

Guns N’ Roses is a music-themed slot adapted from the American hard rock band based in Los Angeles. Hence, it is unsurprising that it makes this list offers rock fans the feeling of being in a concert. Developed by the prestigious NetEnt, it features 4-reel, 3-rows, and 20 paylines, making it easy and fun to play. The game infuses sounds and vocals from lead singer Axl Rose and artistic guitar sounds from lead guitarist Slash. Guns N’ Roses slot is among the most popular pokies online, offering a high Return to Player (RTP) of 96.98%. It features free spins, respins, wilds, multipliers, and a special bonus round.

Saxon

Saxon is a rock theme slot developed by Play’n Go. It features heavy metal sounds from Biff Byford and the Saxon crew, making it more than just a game. Every single spin of its 5 reels is music to the ears, making it a perfect option for heavy metal lovers. The in-game symbols further complement the sounds as it includes relatable images from the band. You can select soundtracks from eight options, which play in the background as you spin the reels. The game offers many bonus rounds, free spins, and multipliers.

Danger! High Voltage

Big Time Gaming presents an electrifying slot adapted from the American rock-disco band called the Electric Six’s. The music adds spice to the game, allowing you to trigger the numerous bonuses. For instance, you get seven free spins when you unlock the Gates of Hell Bonus and 15 spins for High Voltage. The random multiplier can go up to 66x, making it a highly rewarding game.

Immortal Romance

Immortal Romance is a vampire-inspired game developed by Microgaming in 2013. It features 5 reels and 3 rows, offering 243 ways to win. The game’s appeal lies in its blood-red color display, vampire symbols, and sorrowful soundtracks playing in the background for every spin. While it may not be suitable for everyone, it is certainly relatable and a top choice for players who love intense orchestra melody. It creates an immersive atmosphere, making it a top choice for many players.

Mega Moolah

Mega Moolah is all about the jungle. The game’s setting recreates a typical African Safari with symbols from different animals like lions, elephants, and giraffes. Besides the remarkable pictorials, the game features a blend of animal sounds and rhythmic beats. Every spin turns heralds’ steps in an exciting journey. It creates a sense of adventure for players while offering multiple bonuses and big win opportunities through its progressive jackpot.

Starburst

Starburst is not a themed game. Instead, it offers a mix of ambient tunes and electronic sounds with a colorful display that makes it very appealing. Since its release in 2012 by NetEnt, it ranks among the most sought-after video slots on any online platform. It features very bright gems, with each having different paying values. It features some historic Warhol-style caricatures of Albert Einstein, Mona Lisa, and Winston Churchill. The soundtrack is more of punk rock, like being in an underground nightclub or an anarchic punk concert. It explains why the game creates a highly intense feeling. For spins and celebratory sounds, you hear crowd cheers and smashing glass.

Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix is a simple 5-reel slot developed by NetEnt. It is the perfect choice for fans of the famous guitar virtuoso Jimi Hendrix. The game includes symbols of Jimi, different colors of guitars, vinyl flowers, and peace symbols. The slot has selected sounds like “Ace of Spades” and many other tracks, giving the feeling like you are in a rock concert while playing the game.

Megadeth

The symbols include pictures of Dave Mustaine, the band’s lead vocalist/guitarist, and some guitars. Every spin and gameplay is accompanied by some selected high-octane tracks from the Megadeth, either in its original form or instrumental renditions.

The Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival turns 50 Featuring The Travelin’ McCourys, Gibson Brothers, AJ Lee

0

The California Bluegrass Association will celebrate its 50th annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival with a special 50th-anniversary lineup featuring headliners the Travelin’ McCourys, the Gibson Brothers and AJ Lee & Blue Summit, who top a 32-act roster packed with established and emerging talents coming together June 12-15 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, Calif. Tickets go on sale today at fathersdayfestival.com for the festival, which draws generations of bluegrass lovers to California’s beautiful Sierra Foothills for four days of camping, jamming, square-dancing, workshops and family fun — and of course, performances by top national, regional and local artists.

This year’s gathering also features singing, songwriting and fiddling legend Laurie Lewis — who will perform with her band, the Right Hands, and in a special “50 years of Togetherness” celebration with fellow Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist Kathy Kallick, Lewis’ longtime collaborator. Also performing are Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, Junior Sisk Band, the Canote Brothers, Crying Uncle, the Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee, Clinton Davis Stringband, along with California showcase bands Bearcat Stringband, Matt Michienzie Band, Mission Blue, the Town Howlers and Windy Hill. Fifteen additional California bands will be announced.

Special events will include a Saturday after-hours show; performances, fireside-chat interviews and celebrations with artists who performed during the festival’s early years, along with the popular Father’s Day Brunch, workshops, pre-festival music camp and other attractions.

Billed as “the best jamming west of the Rockies,” the festival is renowned as a place where lifelong friendships, musical partnerships and alliances of all kinds are forged through participants’ shared love of bluegrass jamming. That love is fostered early on through the festival’s kids’ programming, including an instructional Youth Academy; the KidFest children’s recreational area; and Kids on Bluegrass, an audition-based training program culminating in a mainstage performance.

Single day tickets, ranging from $25 to $85, and full four-day festival passes — $70 for teens 13 to 17, $235 for adults up to age 65 and $220 for ages 65 and up — are available now by visiting fathersdayfestival.com. Children 12 and under attend free; CBA members receive ticket discounts.

Founded in 1976, the family-friendly Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival has become a beloved annual celebration of roots music. Bluegrass fans converge to frolic amid the majestic pines on this nearly 90-acre spot in the Sierra Nevada foothills, swinging their partners during square-dancing sessions, learning from masters during workshops, joining in on or listening to impromptu jam sessions, enjoying food, beverage and craft offerings, and camping under the stars (lodging is also available in Grass Valley and Nevada City). Kidfest, a major component of the event, offers crafts, games and music for younger attendees. The Kids on Bluegrass program gives musically skilled players up to age 18 an opportunity to perform on the festival mainstage. The CBA Youth Academy, for 8- to 16-year-olds, is a music camp for beginner and intermediate students.

Tent, camper-van and tent-trailer camping (without hookups) and parking for one car are included with full festival passes. RV hookups are available on a limited basis; for more information and fees, check the website.

The nonprofit California Bluegrass Association, founded in 1975, encourages, fosters and cultivates the preservation, appreciation, understanding, enjoyment, support and performance of bluegrass, old-time, gospel, and traditional instrumental and vocal music of the United States. The organization and festival are operated by volunteers dedicated to presenting premier acoustic music in a community-based, family-friendly setting. Hinterland Music Festival has announced the all-star lineup for this year’s 10th edition of the music and camping festival, set for Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3, in St. Charles, IA, just 30 minutes south of Des Moines. Highlights include Tyler, the Creator, Kacey Musgraves, Lana Del Rey, Clairo, The Marías, Bleachers, Remi Wolf, Sierra Ferrell, Still Woozy, Royel Otis, Wyatt Flores, Role Model, Glass Beams, Gigi Perez, and more. The complete Hinterland 2025 lineup is below. Fans can sign up now for a presale code exclusively at www.hinterlandiowa.com. Presales begin Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 am CT; tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 24 at 11:00 am CT.

2025 ticket options include 3-Day and 1-Day General Admission, VIP, and SAINTS, along with a number of camping (tent, car, RV, glamping), parking, and shuttle options starting at just $25 down with a payment plan. Camping will be sold on a per tent or campsite basis, not per person. Improvements for VIP and SAINTS include dedicated entry lines, an upgraded Premium Lounge with a VIP and SAINTS level, an air-conditioned SAINTS lounge in Premium Area, and more. A new free look policy allows VIP and SAINTS ticket holders to return their tickets if they aren’t satisfied within the first hour of arriving.

Hinterland 2025 will once again offer three days of music and more within the scenic landscape of rural Iowa. This year will see Hinterland taking place in an increased space on the festival grounds, along with a range of additional enhancements to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime festival experience. The relocated main stage will have a significantly expanded footprint with more space to spread out, more trees and shade structures, and increased water access (including new and improved filling stations and misting fans located throughout the concourse). Hinterland’s new amphitheater carries on the same legacy as previous years, providing a single-stage experience with no need to jump between stages for different sets. Once the headliners close out the main stage, the Campfire Stage located inside the campgrounds will keep the music going into the night.

In addition, camping and parking areas have been moved to create additional parking, more convenient camping, and more. Further enhancements include improved shuttle efficiency, additional entrances and exits, and more food vendors (including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options). ADA improvements include additional parking, convenient camping options, shaded ADA viewing area, and more.

New in 2025, Hinterland is introducing a “90 Degree Guarantee,” which allows ticket holders the option to request festival admission ticket returns for any day that is predicted to reach 90° or higher.

If on Tuesday 7/29 at 10am CT, the weather.gov forecast for 8/1, 8/2, or 8/3 has a true temperature of 90° or higher for the 50240 zip code, ticket purchasers will have the option to request a return of their festival admission ticket for that day. Return requests are only available for the day/s the forecast is 90° or higher. 3-Day ticket holders can request a return for specific day/s at a rate of 1/3 of the total 3-Day ticket price.

To qualify for a return, ticket holders must fill out the 90° Guarantee Ticket Return Request Form at hinterlandiowa.com/tickets prior to 1pm CT on Tuesday 7/29. Returns will be processed within as little as 10 days.

This policy only applies to festival admission tickets. It does not include camping, parking, or shuttle tickets. To qualify, tickets must have been purchased directly via AXS.com. Tickets purchased from a third-party are not eligible.

Little Feat and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Unite for 2025 Dirty Feat Tour

0

With over 100 combined years of touring, Little Feat and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band have each performed their music to audiences across the world. Now these two monumental bands, who share a mutual admiration, are joining forces on the road for the first time with their Dirty Feat Tour. The special five-date run of shows, set for the western United States, will begin June 21, 2025, in Airway Heights, Washington, and wrap June 26, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Tickets and VIP packages for three of the five shows announced today (Airway Heights, Washington – June 21, Redmond, Washington – June 22, and Bonner, Montana – June 24) go on sale Friday, January 24 at 10 a.m. local time at littlefeat.net and nittygritty.com. The venues and on-sale dates for Pocatello, Idaho, and Salt Lake City, Utah will be announced soon.

As evidenced by a 2025 Grammy Award nomination for its 2024 album Sam’s Place (Best Traditional Blues Album), the legendary Little Feat continues to build on a deep, 50-plus year history with no end in sight. Utilizing a combination of elite musicianship and brilliant, idiosyncratic songwriting to create a repertoire that transcends all boundaries, Little Feat has always been about the songs and musicianship—as its honest and durable legacy illustrates. California rock, funk, folk, jazz, country, and rockabilly mixed with New Orleans swamp boogie led to a powerful sound that has kept the audience dancing for decades. Songs like “Dixie Chicken,” “Spanish Moon,” “Fat Man in the Bathtub,” and “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now” display a continuous thread of excellence that embraces the qualities of exploration that make up Little Feat and its music, while honoring their brothers that began this journey decades ago: Lowell George, Richie Hayward, and Paul Barrere. Little Feat is in stellar form with its current lineup: Scott Sharrard (lead guitar, vocals); Tony Leone (drums, vocals), founder Bill Payne (keys, vocals), Fred Tackett (guitars, vocals), Kenny Gradney (bass), and Sam Clayton (percussion, vocals).

The Grammy-, CMA- and IBMA-Award-winning Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, currently on its ALL THE GOOD TIMES: The Farewell Tour celebrating nearly 60 years of music making, remains one of the most accomplished bands in American roots music. The group’s current lineup is one of the most compelling in the group’s storied history, featuring founding members Jeff Hanna (lead vocals, guitar) and Jimmie Fadden (drums, harmonica, vocals); Bob Carpenter (keys, vocals)—a member since 1980; Jim Photoglo (bass, vocals); Jaime Hanna (guitar, vocals); and Ross Holmes (fiddle, mandolin, vocals). NGDB played its first gig in 1966 in Southern California as a jug band and by 1969 had become a cornerstone of the burgeoning country-rock community. The band’s career breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of “Mr. Bojangles,” a folksy Top 10 pop hit that brought roots music to the national forefront. In 1972, NGDB released the first of three groundbreaking Will The Circle Be Unbroken records, collaborating with many of the best bluegrass, country, and folk artists in the world. The band has recorded 16 Top 10 U.S. Country hits, highlighted by three #1’s: “Fishin’ In The Dark,” “Modern Day Romance,” and “Long Hard Road.” NGDB’s most recent recording is the critically acclaimed album, Dirt Does Dylan.

Los Lonely Boys Announce Highly Anticipated 2025 Tour

0

Brotherhood and authenticity are at the core of Grammy-winning Texican rock trio LOS LONELY BOYS, who are hitting the road with their highly anticipated 2025 US TOUR. Bringing their signature blend of rock, blues, country, soul, and Tejano influences to fans across the west coast and midwest, the Garza brothers—Henry, Jojo, and Ringo, Jr.— promise an unforgettable run of live dates filled with incredible tourmates (Del Castillo, Steel Pulse, Cristeros, Texican Legacy, and Los Lobos). Renown for blending Latin influences with Country and Rock, Los Lonely Boys create a sound uniquely true to them, for their chart-topping hits like “Heaven” and “More Than Love,” electrifying live performances, and their effortlessly authentic and universally relatable genre-bending rock tunes.

The 2025 tour kicks off on February 7th in Roswell, NM and will make stops in 15 cities nationwide before concluding on May 3rd in Flagstaff, AZ. Fans can look forward to hearing classics from the band’s Grammy-winning catalog as well as new material from their 2024 album, Resurrection, which was their first record in 11 years. Released last August via BMG, Resurrection represents a return to form for the GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum trio of Texican brothers, who have performed everywhere from the GRAMMY telecast to the World Series to recent tours with The Who.

Lead single from the record, “Wish You Would” conjures the group’s classic sound, combining breezy guitar leads with hard-earned doses of wisdom. Rejuvenated and more cosmically attuned than ever before, Resurrection rekindles the sonic fire that bonds the Los Lonely Boys brotherhood, while also paying respects to Texas legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Freddy Fender, among others.

About Los Lonely Boys: The story of how the Garza brothers took their trademark “Texican rock & roll” from San Angelo, Texas to worldwide fame is one of epic proportions. The three young brothers, sons of Enrique “Ringo” Garza Sr., are a second-generation sibling band who found their big break after starting to play Austin clubs in the early 2000s. They got signed to Epic, and their hit single, “Heaven,” propelled them to stardom. They sold 2.5 million records, won a GRAMMY®, and received five more GRAMMY® nominations in the span of their career.

The downtime of their hiatus, taken after 23 years of relentless recording and touring, and which served their hearts and their families well, also served to plant new seeds of creativity. “We grew as husbands and fathers during our  time off. We wanted to be there for our families,” says Henry. With the pandemic, “one domino fell after another,” and the break lengthened due to extenuating circumstances. As such, a different kind of divinity stepped in to interrupt the band’s slumber. The Who invited Los Lonely Boys to open a string of shows in 2022. They agreed, because, well, who can say, “No” to The Who? The Boys newest record, Resurrection, dropped in 2024, marking this new era of their career.

Los Lonely Boys are Henry (guitar and vocals), Jojo (bass and vocals), and Ringo (drums and vocals).

The Ivy Announce Spring Tour With Special Guest Lyncs

0

Rising indie-pop duo The Ivy—comprised of singer/guitarist Wyatt Clem and synth player/bassist Shawn Abhari—are thrilled to announce their Spring 2025 North American tour.

The Tulsa-based duo will be joined by the captivating LA-based indie-pop singer and songwriter, Lyncs, for the entire tour. Kicking off on March 25th in Albuquerque, the tour will take The Ivy and Lyncs through major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Nashville, before wrapping up in San Antonio on April 23rd.

In addition to the tour, The Ivy and Lyncs are excited to unveil their upcoming collaboration, “Don’t Fall Asleep To This,” out February 21st. The track is a poignant anthem that beautifully captures the complexities of long-distance love, blending The Ivy’s signature sound with Lyncs’ heartfelt lyricism.

The Ivy is the brainchild of Tulsa-based musicians and producers Wyatt Clem and Shawn Abhari, who first crossed paths at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Oklahoma City. Their instant creative spark ignited a journey of relentless experimentation and sonic boundary-pushing. Since that fateful meeting, Wyatt and Shawn have honed a sound that’s as fresh as it is addictive, blending sharp songwriting with innovative production.

They made their debut as The Ivy in 2017 with viral singles like “Gold” and “Have You Ever Been In Love.” Building on this momentum, they went on to release three EPs and their 2024 debut album, A Door Still Open, solidifying their place as one of indie-pop’s most compelling acts. Enchanting audiences with their high-energy live performances, they’ve headlined their own US tour, co-headlined with DBMK, and shared stages with acts like Grayscale, The Band CAMINO, and LANY.

Lyncs, the musical project of American artist Jacqueline Hynes, hails from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began at the age of five with piano and violin, eventually evolving into writing and producing her own music.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Lorde, The 1975, and The Japanese House, Lyncs crafts dreamy choruses, layered electronic elements, and infectious melodies. Her music delves into themes of relationships, nostalgia, and self-discovery, creating a soundscape that resonates deeply with listeners.

In 2019, Lyncs gained acclaim for her debut EP, Every Time I Find The Meaning Of Life It Changes, known for its down-to-earth sound and heartfelt lyrics. She followed up with singles like “just being honest,” “Prom Queen,” and “Obvious,” collaborating with producers Keith Varon and Rob Ernst. In 2025, Lyncs further showcased her evolving artistry with the release of her third EP, SICK + SIN, solidifying her place as a rising voice in the indie-pop scene.
