The N.S.O. Charge Ahead With The Thrilling New Anthem ‘Sunday Club’

Yorkshire’s four piece force The N.S.O. return with ‘Sunday Club’, a fast paced rush of an anthem that pushes their sound further than ever. Built on thrashing guitars, pounding drums and vocals that hit with pure conviction, the track captures everything that has made the band one of the region’s most exciting new names. It’s a full throttle ride from the first second and a sharp reminder that their momentum keeps climbing.

The band formed in 2022 with Reece Howe on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Josh Tallis on vocals and lead guitar, Simon Barton on bass and Jordan Watkin on drums. They built their identity early by blending gritty vocal tones with melodies that shimmer, landing on a style that feels both raw and addictive. Their debut single ‘Hurts Instead’ arrived later that same year, followed by ‘Up and Down’ in spring 2023, and the gigs have barely stopped since.

‘Sunday Club’ arrives with clarity and intent. Written by Josh Tallis and Reece Howe and recorded at West Homesick Recording Studios, the track was mixed, mastered and produced by Federico Telesca. The band describes it as a relatable story about going out, pushing limits and waking up with that familiar wave of “hangxiety”. Its huge chorus lines echo the inner dialogue of a night spiraling just a little too far, wrapped in a hook that sticks instantly.

The N.S.O. continue to build toward their upcoming EP, due next year. ‘Sunday Club’ sets the stage with power and personality, promising even more music that captures the energy fans have come to love.

Rolando Villazón Brings Myth to Life With the Expressive New Album ‘Orfeo son io’

Deutsche Grammophon artist Rolando Villazón has joined forces with early music ensemble L’Arpeggiata and its founder-director Christina Pluhar to record Orfeo son io (“I am Orpheus”), an album inspired by Greek mythology. The recording is based on a conceptual programme devised by Pluhar which the artists have also performed live to great acclaim. Villazón sings excerpts from Monteverdi’s Orfeo and operas on the same subject by Gluck, Peri and Sartorio, as well as 20th-century songs by Carlos Gardel and Luis Bonfá. Directed by Pluhar from the theorbo or Baroque harp, L’Arpeggiata also weave instrumental works by Allegri, Buonamente, Caccini, Cazzati and Priuli into their Orpheus narrative.

A first digital single, Gardel’s Sus ojos se cerraron, comes out on 17 October 2025, with Gluck’s aria “Che farò senza Euridice?” following on 7 November (both tracks are arranged by Pluhar). Orfeo son io will be released digitally and on CD on 21 November.

Rolando Villazón first worked with Christina Pluhar and L’Arpeggiata when he made his role debut as Monteverdi’s Orfeo in a concert performance at the Musikfest Bremen in 2016. The success of their collaboration resulted in numerous other performances around Europe.

In 2021, the artists reunited to premiere Pluhar’s Orfeo son io programme, again at the Musikfest Bremen, and again leading to further acclaimed concerts together. Squaring the circle, in January this year Villazón, as Artistic Director of the Salzburg Mozartwoche, invited his friends to be part of director and puppeteer Nikolaus Habjan’s new production of Orfeo – another huge success.

Pluhar’s relationship with Monteverdi’s Orfeo dates back to her youth. “Not only is it an unparalleled masterpiece,” she says, “it’s regarded as the first opera, launching a genre that then spread like wildfire throughout Europe. It’s been a constant of my musical life and I’ve continued to develop my interpretation of it. And together, L’Arpeggiata and I have been deepening our understanding of 17th-century music more generally for over 25 years.”

The myth of Orpheus, who could charm people, animals, trees and rocks, and even open the doors to another world with his musical gifts, has survived in writings by Ovid and Virgil. When told that his beloved Eurydice has died, he descends into the Underworld. There, Pluto allows him to rescue Eurydice, but forbids him to look at her until they have left his realm. Orpheus fails to obey and she is lost for ever.

“In Orfeo son io,” explains Pluhar, “we’ve decided to let Orpheus tell his own story, without any help from Eurydice, the Messenger, Charon, and so on. Instead, we’ve chosen instrumental pieces to depict characters, places, or states of mind. Priuli’s Sonata prima à due cori expresses the news of Eurydice’s death, Buonamente’s Intrada symbolises the entrance to Hades guarded by Charon, the ‘walking bass’ of Cazzati’s Capriccio sopra 12 note evokes the couple’s steps as they try to leave the Underworld…”

“Meanwhile,” she adds, “in an inner journey of the soul, Orpheus tells us about falling in love, the huge joy of his wedding day, the terrible grief unleashed by Eurydice’s death, his desire to save her, and his final farewell to her.”

Accompanied by L’Arpeggiata, Villazón brings Orpheus vividly to life. He conveys every emotion the character experiences with beauty and sincerity – from the joy of Monteverdi’s “Vi ricorda, o boschi ombrosi” to the sorrow of “Che farò senza Euridice” from Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice or Gardel’s Sus ojos se cerraron, which the tango star sang in the 1935 film El día que me quieras as his character mourns his dead wife (“Her eyes closed, and the world kept on turning…”).

“For me,” says the singer, “Orpheus is much more than a mythical figure – he is a mirror of our deepest human truths. Every time I embody him on stage, I am struck by the purity of his fragility and the strength he finds through music. He teaches us to embrace longing as a source of beauty, and to believe in the miraculous power of music to keep love alive.”

Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson’s anticipated new album on Deutsche Grammophon: Opus 109 – Beethoven · Bach · Schubert is out today (21 November 2025). At its heart is Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 30 in E major, Op. 109 – a masterpiece of the composer’s late period – which Ólafsson places in an illuminating and thrilling temporal dialogue, tracing the musical and historical lineages that converge on this beacon of the piano literature. Known for his inspired programming, Ólafsson juxtaposes the work with music by J.S. Bach and Schubert, as well as Beethoven’s own earlier Sonata in E minor, Op. 90. Opus 109 is out now on all formats. The history of Guns N’ Roses up to the time that Live Era ’87-’93 was originally released in 1999 is the stuff of legends. The first full-length album from Guns N’ Roses, 1987’s Appetite For Destruction, is one of the most popular hard rock albums in history and has been on the Billboard Top 200 albums or Top Pop Catalog chart for a total of 746 weeks. Certified 18 times platinum in the U.S., Appetite For Destruction charted No. 1 for five weeks and includes three Top 10s: the anthem “Welcome To The Jungle” (No. 7) and the frenzied rocker “Paradise City” (No. 5), plus their platinum selling No. 1 single “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” The video for “Sweet Child O’ Mine” has over 1 billion views on YouTube.

1988’s G N’R Lies, comprised of songs from the group’s independently-released 1986 EP Live?!*@Like A Suicide plus new studio recordings, followed Appetite For Destruction up the charts, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The Grammy-nominated album (for Best Hard Rock Performance) was five times platinum (each platinum level connotes sales of more than one million units) and claimed the gold No. 4-charting ballad “Patience.” 

Then, on September 17, 1991, with one of the most anticipated releases ever in music, both Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II debuted. Use Your Illusion I featured two gold singles with “November Rain” (No. 3) and “Don’t Cry” (No. 10) plus another Top 40 with “Live And Let Die” (No. 33). Use Your Illusion II boasted another gold hit with the previously released single “You Could Be Mine” (No. 29), heard in the film Terminator II: Judgment Day. A collection of Guns N’ Roses covers of classic, mainly punk, songs that had influenced the bandmembers since their early days, 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident? hit No. 4, and is certified platinum. The Spaghetti Incident? features renditions of The Dead Boys’ 1978 track “Ain’t It Fun” and an unlikely cover of The Skyliners’ ’50s doo-wop gem “Since I Don’t Have You.”

“To me, it’s evocative of going through the motions with life and continuously trying to improve yourself,” said Kevin. “Life keeps changing, and the song is a positive reinforcement of that idea. It says, ‘Don’t let things get stale,’ which is embodied in the ‘coffee’s cold’ line. You need to know when to move onto the next thing and you also need to keep moving no matter what the situation or relationship is. I’m stepping into my next thing.”

Sam Fender Shares The Reflective New Single “I’m Always on Stage” Ahead of the Deluxe ‘People Watching’

 Sam Fender is pleased to share a new single, the reflective I’m Always on Stage.

The track is lifted from the previously announced deluxe version of People Watching, released on 5th December through Polydor Records including eight new tracks, released on CD and vinyl.

I’m Always on Stage originally featured on the limited edition, vinyl-only release for Record Store Day, Me and The Dog EP. All four tracks from that original release feature on the Deluxe album.

Sam recently played the track live on his US tour, and it’s been featuring on the setlist on his current Australian tour too.

At the weekend, the concert film Live at London Stadium premiered online. Watch it back, and listen to I’m Always on Stage over its end credits.

Live at London Stadium captures the recently crowned Mercury Prize winner at the very top of his game, performing to over 80,000 jubilant fans last Summer, and featuring the first live performance of Rein Me In alongside Olivia Dean.

Live at London Stadium was directed by Toby L & Kit Monteith and is produced by Up The Game (Blur, Olivia Rodrigo, Liam Gallagher).

The film showcases the enormity of this occasion as one of the UK’s most important artists returns to the capital for one night only.

Sam concludes his 2025 in Australia, with three remaining shows.

The Beatles Unveil A New Era Of Legacy With The Release Of The Expansive ‘Anthology Collection’ And ‘Anthology 4’

As The Beatles’ global Anthology 2025 campaign rolls on with this autumn’s exciting music, documentary series, and book releases, the new Anthology Collection and Anthology 4 music compendiums are released today by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe.

The complete Anthology Collection features 191 tracks across Anthology 1, 2, and 3, and the new Anthology 4 (also available individually), which boasts 13 previously unreleased demos and session recordings and other rare tracks, alongside “Now And Then” and Jeff Lynne’s new 2025 mixes for “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love.” Beautifully restored, the music video for “Real Love” is also out today, joining the restored “Free As A Bird” video released in August.

Originally curated by George Martin, Anthology’s music collections are newly remastered by Giles Martin. They provide enthralling insight into the early development of songs that became the recorded masterpieces, resonating just as loudly today as they did when they were first recorded. 

Disney+ has debuted the new trailer and key art for its upcoming release of “The Beatles Anthology.” Episodes 1-3 of the series launch on November 26, followed by Episodes 4-6 on November 27 and Episodes 7-9 on November 28.

“The Beatles Anthology,” Apple Corps’ landmark, UK-produced documentary series exploring the life and times of the most influential and beloved band of all time, as told by The Beatles themselves, will make its streaming debut exclusively on Disney+ beginning November 26. Beautifully restored and expanded from eight to nine episodes, the series offers an unprecedented and intimate view of The Beatles’ legendary trajectory and inner workings. 

First released three decades ago, The Beatles’ eight-part “Anthology” series reinvented the music documentary. Instead of a standard treatment centered on an outside narrator and talking heads, “The Anthology” featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr candidly telling their own story, with all its complexities and contradictions. It introduced The Beatles to new generations of viewers and listeners and marked the start of a creative and commercial afterlife that continues to this day.

The 25th Anniversary Edition of The Beatles Anthology book is available now from Apple Corps Ltd. and Chronicle Books. Throughout its pages, John, Paul, George and Ringo share their honest, intimate and revelatory recollections of the band’s journey. Their memories are accompanied by impressions from their closest colleagues, including Neil Aspinall, George Martin, Derek Taylor and others. The bestselling 368-page book is beautifully illustrated with more than 1,300 photos, documents, artwork, and other memorabilia from the band’s archives.

Everything The Beatles did involved change. Listening to their songs and watching their story unfold brings us closer to the shifts in culture, ideas and music they helped to shape—and which continue to resonate today. The Anthology was always about their past, but this new edition confirms its enduring place in the present and future.
