Nickelback Announce ‘Live From Nashville’ Album Releasing on November 15th

Today, diamond certified, multi-platinum selling rock band Nickelback officially announce their new ‘Live From Nashville’ album releasing November 15th via BMG. Kicking off with lead single “San Quentin (Live from Nashville),” Nickelback: Live From Nashville will feature electrifying live recordings from the band’s legendary, sold-out show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on their 2023 Get Rollin’ Tour, which was hailed as a “fiery, raucous, unapologetic and rock-driven” set by The Tennessean. Nickelback’s set featured several special guests, including some of music’s biggest hitmakers, and now the magic of that show can be experienced again with Nickelback: Live from Nashville. Nickelback: Live From Nashville follows the release of the band’s feature-length documentary Hate to Love: Nickelback that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023 before hitting cinemas worldwide. Now available on Netflix, the film, directed by Leigh Brooks and produced by Ben Jones, tells the authentic story about the band from their humble beginnings in Hanna Alberta, to their explosive global success in 2001 and the highs and lows that followed.

2024 marks two years since the release of Nickelback’s 10th studio album, Get Rollin’ which was released November 18, 2022, via BMG. SiriusXM to Open Technology Center of Excellence in Ireland

SiriusXM, a leading audio entertainment company in the United States, announced today the opening of a new state-of-the-art technology facility in Dublin, Ireland. The Company’s Dublin-based employees are expected to play a critical role in the audio entertainment company’s continued digital transformation, and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM’s Product and Technology organization. SiriusXM is supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland.

SiriusXM’s Dublin workforce will primarily focus on software development, automotive technology and engineering, adtech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke said: “I congratulate SiriusXM on their expansion. Legendary Coach Bill Belichick and Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Join “Let’s Go!” on SiriusXM as Hosts for 2024 Season

SiriusXM today unveiled a new lineup for the 2024 season of the exclusive show, “Let’s Go!” Throughout the upcoming NFL season listeners will hear from hosts six-time Super Bowl Champion head coach Bill Belichick, three-time Pro Bowl Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby, and three-time National Sportswriter of the Year Peter King, as they join Hall of Fame broadcaster Jim Gray for weekly in-depth conversations on pro football.

New episodes of “Let’s Go!” will debut every Monday at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio (channel 82) and replay at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT on SiriusXM NFL Radio (channel 88). “Let’s Go!” will be available on all major podcast platforms, with additional bonus content from Belichick, Crosby, King and Gray available only on the SiriusXM app. The new season begins this Monday, September 2.

Each host, in his own segment with Jim Gray, brings to “Let’s Go!” a unique and special perspective on the game.

One of the greatest head coaches of all time, Bill Belichick holds numerous coaching records, including the record of most Super Bowl wins (6) as a head coach, all with the New England Patriots, along with two more as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants. During his time with the Patriots Belichick was a central figure during the franchise’s dynasty. He has the most playoff coaching wins all-time with 31 and is second on the all-time coaching list for combined wins.

“I thank Tom for recommending me. When the opportunity was presented by Jim I said, ‘Let’s Go,’” Belichick said. “When people say, ‘Let’s Go!’ it conveys a sense of camaraderie and teamwork that all involved share the same goals and excitement. And that’s exactly how I feel to be joining the ‘Let’s Go!’ team at SiriusXM.”

Belichick takes over as a host for Tom Brady who, along with Larry Fitzgerald, led the first three seasons of “Let’s Go!” with Gray. Brady will make appearances on the show this season as a guest.

“For 20 years I threw the ball for Coach Belichick. Now I am passing the microphone to him on ‘Let’s Go!’” said Brady. “I will be listening every week as I know Bill and Jim will have lots of great conversations, and I’m looking forward to my guest appearances and joining them during the season.”

Maxx Crosby has led the league in tackles for loss the past two seasons, been voted to the Pro Bowl the past three, and has established himself as one of the leaders of the Las Vegas Raiders franchise.

National Champion Head Coach Jimbo Fisher joins SiriusXM

SiriusXM announced today that former Florida State and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher has joined the on-air team on the SiriusXM College Sports Radio channel.

Starting September 3rd Fisher, who led the Seminoles to a National Championship in 2014 and three ACC Championships (2012-14), will appear every Tuesday at 3 pm ET on “Off Campus.” He will host the show alongside two of his former players — E.J. Manuel, who won an ACC Championship title as quarterback at Florida State with Fisher as his head coach, and Jacob Hester, who played running back at LSU with Fisher as the team’s offensive coordinator.

“I love talking about football almost as much as I love coaching,” said Fisher. “I’m really excited to be joining the SiriusXM College Sports Radio team. I listen to the channel, have been a guest there many times, and now I get to host a show alongside two great players that I had the pleasure to coach. SiriusXM announced today its extensive coverage plans for the 2024 NFL season. SiriusXM will deliver live broadcasts of every game from Thursday’s NFL Kickoff Presented by YouTube TV through Super Bowl LIX, as well as comprehensive talk coverage on the SiriusXM NFL Radio channel, which welcomes several new hosts to the team this season.

Throughout the 2024 NFL season, kicking off this week, SiriusXM will be the exclusive third-party audio provider of live play-by-play for every NFL game across North America. SiriusXM subscribers get access to every minute of every game on the SiriusXM radios in their cars and on the SiriusXM app, plus exclusive shows and in-depth news and talk on the 24/7 SiriusXM NFL Radio channel and select Club content from NFL teams.

Released on February 10, 1971, the album’s introspective lyrics and soulful melodies, backed by King’s warm voice and piano, resonated deeply with listeners worldwide. With hits like “It’s Too Late” and “I Feel the Earth Move,” Tapestry not only topped the charts but also earned King four Grammy Awards.

1. Tapestry Was a Creative Collaborative Effort

While Carole King wrote or co-wrote all the songs on Tapestry, she wasn’t alone in the process. Collaborators like Toni Stern, who co-wrote the lyrics for “It’s Too Late” and “Where You Lead,” and her ex-husband Gerry Goffin, who penned the lyrics for “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” added diverse voices to the album. James Taylor also played a pivotal role by encouraging King to sing her own songs, and he contributed his guitar skills to the project.

2. The Album Cover Features a Handmade Tapestry

The iconic album cover, showing King with her cat in a cozy home setting, is memorable. But what many may not realize is that King is holding an actual tapestry she hand-stitched herself! Captured by A&M staff photographer Jim McCrary in the living room of her Laurel Canyon home, the image was more than just an aesthetic choice—it reflected King’s authentic, personal connection to the music within – including having with her cat, named Telemachus by her feet.

3. “You’ve Got a Friend” Was a Spontaneous Creation

“You’ve Got a Friend” is one of Tapestry‘s standout tracks, and it came about almost by accident. King described writing the song as an experience of “pure inspiration,” noting that the song seemed to flow through her, almost as if it “wrote itself.” The song became even more iconic when James Taylor recorded his own version, making it his only Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit. Remarkably, both versions were recorded at the same time using shared musicians.

4. “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” Takes on New Meaning

Carole King recorded her own version of “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” for Tapestry, infusing it with a deeper, more contemplative feel. Unlike The Shirelles’ 1960 hit, which captured the innocence of youth, King’s slower, introspective version reveals the perspective of a mature woman seeking a true partnership. With James Taylor and Joni Mitchell adding background vocals on separate audio channels, King’s rendition gained considerable album-oriented rock airplay, benefiting from Tapestry‘s massive commercial success.

5. Session Musicians Worked Across Multiple Albums Simultaneously

During the recording of Tapestry at A&M Studios, several session musicians were also working on James Taylor’s album Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon. This cross-pollination of talent created a unique sound that contributed to both albums’ success. Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and Danny Kortchmar were among the artists lending their talents, creating a dynamic environment that infused Tapestry with a blend of voices and styles.

Carole King’s Tapestry is far more than an album—it’s a piece of history that captures the spirit of the early ’70s while remaining timeless – from James Taylor to Barbra Streisand to Glee to Amy Winehouse and Taylor Swift all loving the record. Its songs of friendship, love, and resilience are as relatable today as they were over fifty years ago.
