“ALPHAVILLE FOREVER! – THE BEST OF 40 YEARS” to be released on September 27, 2024

0

Four decades of Alphaville! Founded by Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd, and Frank Mertens, this pop outfit stands as one of the few German bands to break through on the international music scene. With hits like “Big in Japan,” “Forever Young,” and “Sounds like a Melody,” they have inspired generations of fans and continue to do so. This fall, Alphaville is embarking on a major “ALPHAVILLE FOREVER! LIVE” tour, preceded by their first career-spanning retrospective: “ALPHAVILLE FOREVER! – BEST OF 40 YEARS,” available from September 27, 2024, via Warner Music Central Europe—exactly 40 years to the day since the release of their debut album “Forever Young.”

Marian Gold: “Alphaville is made up of very curious beings, and the world of music is a totally crazy playground. You throw yourself in, maybe make mistakes, take detours, and come back with fabulous insights and the craziest songs. It’s a great adventure, great, great fun.”

Bernhard Lloyd: “Back in 1984, the ‘biggest year in pop,’ as it is often called, there was a seemingly simple explanation for Alphaville’s success: the right idea, in the right place at the right time. Today, 40 years later, this explanation can no longer account for the continuing worldwide success. It must be down to the special magic of Alphaville’s songs after all. And the enthusiasm with which they were created”.

The CD version (digipack) contains 40 tracks and a 20-page booklet. The shortened LP version (180g) includes a printed inner sleeve with credits and many photos, as well as a poster in the limited first edition. Notably, Alphaville fans worldwide were invited to vote on the tracklist (digital + 3CD) in advance. Using a special voting tool, they were able to choose their 40 favorite Alphaville songs, put them in the order of their choice and save them as a playlist.

Alphaville was founded by Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd, and Frank Mertens in Münster, Germany. Their debut album “Forever Young” was released in 1984, immediately becoming an international success. Their first single “Big in Japan” shot straight into the international charts, reaching number 1 in Germany and many other countries. Alongside other successful singles, “Forever Young” became a worldwide hit and one of the best-known songs of the 1980s.

With their catchy synth-pop sound and profound lyrics, Alphaville struck a chord with the times—just as they have with their subsequent albums. The sensational debut was followed by further successful LPs such as “Afternoons in Utopia” (1986) and “The Breathtaking Blue” (1989). Alphaville have always managed to evolve their distinctive sound while staying true to themselves, experimenting with different musical styles and themes, giving their work an impressive diversity. Alphaville’s catalog includes eight studio albums to date, with “Eternally Yours” most recently landing at number 2 in the German charts in 2022.

One of Alphaville’s unique gifts is their ability to create timeless music that remains relevant and beloved across the decades. “Forever Young,” for example, is not only a nostalgic classic, but has been featured in countless international film and television productions and discovered by new generations, as evidenced by numerous cover versions from global stars like Beyoncé to local German rap juggernaut Bushido. Last year, the song also experienced a renaissance as a global TikTok trend.

Following the remastered and expanded deluxe editions of “Forever Young” (1984), “Afternoons In Utopia” (1986), “The Breathtaking Blue” (1989), “Prostitute” (1994), and “Salvation” (1997), you can now look forward to Alphaville’s first comprehensive best-of collection, followed by the anniversary tour:

2-LP Reissue Of The Notorious B.I.G.’s Multi-Platinum Debut Featuring Limited Edition Collectible Cover Art Arrives On September 13

0

The Notorious B.I.G.’s multi-platinum debut, Ready to Die, celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special 2-LP reissue featuring newly reimagined limited edition cover art.

On September 13—the album’s original release date—Ready To Die (30th Anniversary) will be available as a double album on black vinyl from Rhino.com and biggiemerch.com. Pre-order HERE. On the same day, a color vinyl edition will be available exclusively at select retailers.

Earlier this year, the Library of Congress inducted Ready To Die into the National Recording Registry. In the essay accompanying the induction, author and journalist Justin Tinsley writes, “In its true essence, the album is a response to American capitalism and just how deadly the pursuit of money could be and was for so many–in particular, young Black folks in America. ‘Ready To Die’ is a response to so many moments in American history before it: the economic crisis that nearly crippled New York in the 1970s, the crack explosion of the ’80s (and the unfathomable violence and destruction it brought) and Reagonomics, ‘Stop-And-Frisk’-era policies that crippled Black communities… ‘Rolling Stone’ dubbed the album ‘the precise moment when hip-hop’s golden age transitioned into its modern age, the height of New York hip-hop and the sound of the greatest rapper of all time at the absolute top of his power.’”

The album’s lead single, “Juicy,” achieved gold certification upon release and peaked at No. 3 on the Hot Rap Singles chart, crossing over to reach No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since its release, the platinum-certified track has garnered over 1 billion streams and was named the best hip-hop song of all time by the BBC. The second single, “Big Poppa,” was an even bigger success; with over 1 billion streams to date, it topped the Rap and R&B charts and reached No. 6 on the Hot 100. It was certified platinum at the time and nominated for the GRAMMY® Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. In addition, a remix of “One More Chance” topped the Rap and R&B charts and peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100.

The iconic record has been certified 6x platinum and is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever, making the Apple Music 100 Best Albums of All Time and No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s The 200 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time.

Post Malone Hits The Road For ‘F-1 Trillion’ Tour

0

Today, 9x diamond-certified GRAMMY Award-nominated global superstar Post Malone announces his F-1 Trillion Tour, a momentous 21 show outing with stadium, festival, and amphitheater performances around the U.S.

Last week, Post released “Pour Me A Drink” featuring Blake Shelton, while also announcing that his debut country album F-1 Trillion will be out on August 16th. His first single off the upcoming album and mega-smash “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen is continuing to dominate the charts. Upon release, it crash landed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tallying “the highest weekly sales and streams since 2020” and remained at #1 for five consecutive weeks, emerging as the longest running number one song of 2024.

This tour follows ‘If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying’ run last year, his highly successful trek across the US and Canada. Produced by Live Nation, the 2024 outing kicks off on September 8 at Salt Lake City’s Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, making stops at Fenway Park, Hersheypark Stadium, Credit One Stadium and more before wrapping up in Nashville at Nissan Stadium on October 19.

Post shares, “I love y’all so very much and I’m so excited to get out and play new music for you.”

A 9x diamond-certified GRAMMY Award-nominated phenomenon, Dallas, TX artist Post Malone regularly rewrites history, blurs boundaries, and incites internet-breaking conversation with every move. Emerging in 2015 with a genre-less brew that inspired a movement, he delivered the diamond-selling “Congratulations” [feat. Quavo], achieved back-to-back #1 debuts on the Billboard Top 200, received countless multi-Platinum certifications around the world, and smashed one record after another with his Hot 100-topping hits. In 2022, he pushed boundaries again with his fourth full-length offering, Twelve Carat Toothache, which marked his fourth consecutive Top 5 bow on the Top 200. It also paved the way for his biggest headliner to date, The Twelve Carat Toothache Tour, taking over arenas for multiple dates in major cities throughout the year. He even scored “the highest-certified single in RIAA history” with the 17x-platinum “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)” [feat. Swae Lee], netting the biggest single of his generation. In 2023, he garnered a GRAMMY® Award nod in the category of “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for “I Like You (A Happier Song)” [with Doja Cat], marking his tenth career nomination in six years.

Three years prior, his 2019 third full-length, Hollywood’s Bleeding, represented an audience and critical high watermark. Not only did it arrive at platinum status and eventually go triple platinum, but it also reigned at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 for four weeks and returned to the chart for a fifth week, making for the longest run atop the chart of 2019 and the first release to do so in over a year. The quadruple-platinum lead single “Circles” seized #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks. It notably occupied a spot on the chart for a record 39 weeks in total. Speaking of making history, he performed a massively popular Nirvana tribute concert on YouTube, raising over $10,000,000 for the World Health Organization in the fight against COVID-19. Hollywood’s Bleeding followed the immense success of the triple-Platinum beerbongs & bentleys, which also landed at #1 a year prior. In the wake of beerbongs & bentleys, Post crushed a record in place for 54 years. He charted nine songs in the Top 20 of the Hot 100, notching the most songs in the Top 20 of the Hot 100 ever. Moreover, he also trounced the record for most simultaneous Top 40 Hot 100 hits with 14.

As of 2023, his catalog comprises the GRAMMY Award-nominated “rockstar” [feat. 21 Savage” (Diamond), “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)” [feat. Swae Lee] (2x Diamond), “I Fall Apart” (Diamond), “Psycho” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] (Diamond), “White Iverson” (Diamond), “Better Now” (Diamond), and more. Not to mention, he sold out numerous arena tours and hosted and curated his own mega-popular Posty Fest in 2018 and 2019. It all started with his quintuple-platinum influential 2016 debut, Stoney. With records under his belt that will likely never be surpassed and a generation of artists and audiences worldwide under his spell, Post Malone simply doesn’t stop.

About Ronny Chieng:

Coin Announce North American Tour

0

COIN have announced their new album I’m Not Afraid of Music Anymore will be out September 13 via 10k Projects. The band’s debut single “Strawberry Jam” produced by Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Noah Kahan Lana Del Rey) is also out now. Along with the announcement of this new chapter for COIN, they will be kicking off a North American Tour playing notable venues such as the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, MGM Music Hallat Fenway in Boston, Fox Theater in Oakland and many more.

The new album finds the band in their most vulnerable state and continuing to push the boundaries of alternative pop without straying from their trademark dynamic energy. It’s bright, bittersweet, electric, intimate and a record fans new and old can embrace open heartedly. After thinking they were out of stories to tell, songs to shape, I’m Not Afraid of Music Anymore suggests that COIN have unlocked not a new chapter in their existence but an entire new volume, with more depth than they’ve ever shared before.

What are USB AAA Rechargeable Batteries?

0

By Mitch Rice

The standard AAA batteries we’ve been using in a variety of small electronic devices for years have been innovatively evolved into USB AAA rechargeable batteries. USB AAA rechargeable batteries have the advantage of being reusable, which minimizes waste and its negative effects on the environment. Disposable batteries must be thrown away after only one usage. These batteries are incredibly useful in our increasingly digital and connected world since they feature cutting-edge technology that enables them to be recharged via a USB port.

The affordability of USB AAA rechargeable batteries is one of its main advantages. In comparison to purchasing disposable batteries, the initial cost may be larger, but there will be significant long-term savings. It will save you money because you can recharge and use them hundreds of times instead of having to buy new batteries all the time. In addition to saving money, this repeated use reduces the quantity of batteries that wind up in landfills, helping to preserve the environment.

Common Uses for AAA Batteries

In the world of tiny electronics, AAA batteries are widely used because of their small size and sufficient power output. Essential devices like digital cameras, MP3 players, TV remote controls, and other handheld electronics are frequently powered by AAA batteries. The voltage required to run these gadgets effectively is supplied by these batteries.

It’s crucial to remember that, despite their widespread use and versatility, AAA batteries might not be able to withstand significant current draws when compared to larger battery types like AA. Larger batteries are usually needed to suit the operational needs of devices that require more power for longer periods of time or have higher energy requirements. By making this difference, performance and endurance are maximized and each device is given the proper power supply that is suited to its unique energy requirements.

Charging Your USB AAA Rechargeable Batteries

It’s important to adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions when charging USB AAA rechargeable batteries. Always charge these batteries using the charger that came with them, the device for which they are intended, or one that the manufacturer suggests. By doing this, you can guarantee that the batteries charge effectively and safely, avoiding overcharging or overheating.

Are There Two Types of AAA Batteries?

Indeed, there are two primary varieties of AAA batteries: rechargeable and disposable. Alkaline batteries, sometimes referred to as disposable AAA batteries, are meant to be used just once and must be changed when empty. Because they may be recharged more than once, rechargeable AAA batteries—including USB AA rechargeable batteries—are more cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Are USB Rechargeable Batteries Safe to Use?

As long as you use USB rechargeable batteries properly, they are usually safe to use. Make careful to only use the suggested charger and refrain from overcharging. To improve their safety profile, many USB rechargeable batteries include protective circuits built in to guard against problems like overheating and short circuiting.

Advantages of USB AAA Rechargeable Batteries

Cost-Effectiveness

Over time, usb aaa rechargeable batteries prove to be cost-effective despite their initial greater cost. The frequency of battery replacements can be decreased by using them repeatedly as they can be recharged.

Environmental Benefits

Rechargeable battery use contributes to waste reduction. Choosing these batteries helps protect the environment by reducing the quantity of throwaway batteries that wind up in landfills.

Convenience

The convenience of these batteries is immense. Any USB port, including those on laptops, power banks, and wall adapters, can be used to recharge them. Because of their adaptability, they are ideal for daily use and travel.

Disadvantages of USB AAA Rechargeable Batteries

Initial Cost

Disposable batteries are less expensive initially than USB AAA rechargeable batteries and their chargers. There are users who may be discouraged by this first expense.

Limited Lifespan

Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles even if they can be used repeatedly. Their ability to retain a charge eventually runs out, necessitating replacement.

Charging Time

The charging time of rechargeable batteries is longer than that of disposable batteries. This could be a hassle if you need batteries that are ready to go.

Conclusion

Reusable USB AAA batteries are a wise and environmentally responsible option for powering your tiny electronic gadgets. They provide convenience, cost savings, and environmental advantages. You may extend their life and efficiency by using correct charging procedures and being aware of both their benefits and drawbacks.
