Great American Ghost release their stunning cover of the Deftones classic “Hole In The Earth” from the 2006 album ‘Saturday Night Wrist’. Appalachian Folk Artist John Robert Releases New Single “Other Side”

John Robert releases his new single “Other Side”, his first new music since the 2023 Garden Snake EP and his first release as an independent artist. Steeped in Appalachian folk tradition, the song was written in remembrance of his grandmother as a gift to his mother. Using an alternative guitar tuning, he leans into a warm, woody tone colored by quiet melancholy, ending with an organ that drifts in and out like a memory returning. He says the song grew from long distance updates while his grandmother was in hospice and from imagining the weight his mother carried through that loss. Their final conversation, he recalls with fondness, ended with a shared belief that there should be no stigma around adults climbing trees.

After six years in Los Angeles, John Robert returned in early 2025 to his hometown of Edinburg Virginia, a place he describes as one where people “want more for me than they want from me.” Surrounded by familiar faces, the rhythm of the Shenandoah River and the quiet of home, he began shaping new music that feels like a scrapbook of long held memories, each page connected to moments that shaped him. “Other Side” reflects that shift with honesty and gentleness, offering listeners a window into family, loss and the love that lingers long after someone is gone.

Global Afropop Star Tyla Releases New Music Video For Her WizKid Collaboration “Dynamite”

On the heels of the release of her first new music since her debut album cycle, Tyla has released the music video for her highly anticipated collaboration with WizKid, “Dynamite.” The new video feature, directed by Nabil, casts the Grammy-winners in a steamy precursor to a vacation in Tyla’s latest venture with the legendary director.

The cinematic storytelling often found in Tyla music videos is once again present in “Dynamite,” which opens with silent communication between the singer and her co-star WizKid, as the two enter the confines of a hotel.

Tyla’s reverence for WizKid, one of Nigeria and Africa’s greatest living musical exports and an Afrobeats pioneer, dates back to the beginning of her career. The South African native has always publicly declared her admiration for the Nigerian superstar and trailblazer, and has profusely supported his ventures on social media. When the opportunity to work together first presented itself in 2022, Tyla pounced.

“I was very new, I didn’t think he would be down for a session. But he was, he liked some of the stuff I played him,” Tyla says, recalling the nerves she felt about working with one of her idols with the UK’s Capital XTRA earlier this summer. Fortunately, “Dynamite” was one of the results of those early sessions.

“When I thought of doing a mixtape called WWP, I went back to all my old demos and I remembered the Wiz one,” Tyla told a London audience in July as she previewed ‘WWP’ pre-release. “And it was still good, like, after three years! I just told him, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to drop it’.”

In the weeks leading up to the release of WWP, fans speculated that the official version of “Dynamite” would be included, sending Tyla’s audience into a tailspin on social media. From Instagram to TikTok, excited fans clamored for the new collaboration, noting that the first collaboration between two of Africa’s biggest music stars would be a global event.

The term “global event” is fitting for Tyla’s latest conquests – she’s had a summer lined with them. She contributed all-new music to the Smurfs soundtrack in July, with her original song “Everything Goes Blue,” and starred in headlining performances at the renowned Open’er Festival in Poland and the Tipsy Festival in Barbados. This week, Tyla announced her official Asia tour, with dates in Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore in November and December ‘25, with more dates to be announced.

Multi-platinum duo Disclosure unleashes its monumental new collaboration “No Cap” featuring multi-hyphenate superstar Anderson Paak, out now via Disorder/Capitol Records.

“No Cap” returns to Disclosure’s world-conquering pop sensibilities without giving an inch on the dance floor. The song plunges listeners into the center of the club from the start as Paak lords over a wild score of rubbery synths, relentless bass, and skittering drums. When the melodic line hits, he’s off to the races, switching from a cool, calm chant to soul-drenched, rapid-fire raps: “So, so, tell me no lies / Open up your mind, hands to the sky / Oh, oh, why you so fine? / If you don’t mind, baby, turn up the vibes.”

“Creating something with Andy has been a long time coming! We first met at our show at Forrest Hills in NYC back in 2015 and have been fans of his for even longer. The time finally felt right and the right song appeared. He’s one of the most talented musicians we have ever worked with and we can’t wait for you all to hear this one and perform it live together soon,” Disclosure shares.

Co-written by the Lawrence brothers and Paak with frequent Disclosure collaborator Jimmy Napes, the high-energy track is already a proven people-mover. Both artists (Paak as his vinyl-spinning alter-ego DJ Pee Wee) have been playing “No Cap” to rapturous crowds during recent DJ sets, not to mention sharing smoldering teasers and hilarious clips highlighting their chemistry together. Like Disclosure, Paak is a game collaborator who works across diverse sonic spaces, as seen not only on his projects like NxWorries (with producer Knxwledge) and Silk Sonic (with Bruno Mars), but also recent team-ups with R&B riser Jane Handcock, electronica star TokiMonsta, and K-pop rap hero G-Dragon.

The song continues Disclosure’s legacy of boundary-pushing collaboration with such eclectic acts as The Weeknd, Lorde, AlunaGeorge, Aminé, slowthai, Khalid, and Sam Smith (who featured on their 3x platinum-certified breakthrough “Latch”). Most recently, the duo released the thrilling “King Steps” with British-Gambian rapper Pa Salieu. They’d previously been on a run exploring their experimental side with similarly darker, hard-hitting bangers like “Arachnids” — described by Guy as an “ever-evolving creative puzzle of sound design and groove exploration” — and “in2minds” with friend/collaborator Chris Lake.

Rock Mystics Mirador Release Their Debut Album And First Single “Feels Like Gold”

Mirador, the new band co-founded by GRAMMY Award-winning Greta Van Fleet co-founder Jake Kiszka and Ida Mae’s Chris Turpin, announce their debut album, the self-titled Mirador.

“Mirador comes from a deep passion for rock ‘n’ roll, early folk, and country blues as well as folklore,” says Turpin.

“Our world lives in those traditions,” Kiszka adds. “There’s an unspoken mysticism. You can trace it back to the stories of meeting the devil at the crossroads, selling your soul, and losing your mind to the wind. Mirador definitely inhabits a lot of that. We’re hyper aware of our lineage, so we can build our own future as a band. It’s two guitar players from notable groups coming together to create a new mythology. As soon as we were in uncharted territory, we knew we were doing something right.”

Mirador also share their first single, ‘Feels Like Gold’, the first song the band has ever released. The band shares about the new single, “‘Feels Like Gold’ is set against the backdrop of conquest and imperialism, in an era marked by global friction and war. The song weaves together themes of cultural collision, the relentless pursuit of riches, and the complexities of history. Yet, amidst the darkness of war and dogged determination for expansion, it offers a message of hope for a unified world and an understanding beyond violence.”

Mirador has the uncanny ability to conjure sky-shaking and boundary-bursting rock ‘n’ roll by invoking spirits of ancient myth, traditional folklore, and Delta-born blues in one concentrated musical incantation. Greta Van Fleet’s Jake Kiszka not only shares vocal and guitar duties with critically acclaimed co-vocalist and guitarist Chris Turpin of Ida Mae, but he also shines as a producer and songwriter, stepping out on his own. The group, filled out by Mikey Sorbello on drums and Nick Pini on bass & keys, stretches the limits of rock ‘n’ roll and showcases the band’s myriad influences and uncompromising vision.

Kiszka and Turpin met in 2018 when Ida Mae opened for Greta Van Fleet during a sold-out three-night stand at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, MI. On the road, Kiszka and Turpin cemented their friendship by way of late-night jam sessions fuelled by wine and a shared passion for everyone from Charley Patton, Muddy Waters, and Lightnin’ Hopkins to Martin Carthy, Bert Jansch, and Fairport Convention.

“We were like long lost brothers,” says Kiszka. “After we wrote those songs, I realized we had a chemistry I’d never had with anybody but my own brothers. It was obvious we needed to do this.” The world got to know Mirador when they spent a month opening up Greta Van Fleet’s Starcatcher World Tour in arenas coast-to-coast throughout 2024. Galvanized by this nightly trial-by-fire, the band rolled right into a Savannah, GA studio with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb [Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton], and they cut Mirador live in barely two weeks.

“After four weeks on our first tour, we went to the studio,” says Turpin. “By the time we got there, Dave harnessed a lot of the intensity and frenetic energy from the road.” Kiszka adds, “if we didn’t cut our teeth in the most intense circumstances, I don’t think the record would have the same spirit.”

‘Feels Like Gold’ introduces the album with rumbling guitars breaking like a wave against its towering chorus, “and it feels like gold.” On ‘Fortune’s Fate’ a turbulent guitar groove tosses and turns before spilling over into an emotional crescendo, “there goes my shadow to the one I love.”

Elsewhere, ‘Heels Of The Hunt’ launches forward on a rapid-fire drum roll, while wild riffs chase goosebump-inducing vocals through a bluesy haze. The finale ‘Skyway Drifter’ opens with finger-picked accents before breaking open into a cathartic breakdown.

“For me, it would be beautiful if this is all-consuming for listeners—like when you see a movie at the cinema,” Kiszka concludes. “We’re trying to immerse people in the world of MIRADOR and where we’re coming from. There’s so much duality in the album: the humanity, the soul, the adventure, the tyranny, and the journey. It’s a very important record for us, but also in terms of what has gone down in the world of rock ‘n’ roll today. We hope you feel like you belong to this place as much as we do.”

UK Blues Rock Collective Hollow Souls Release New Single “Bad Things” Featuring Chris Tapp

UK blues rock collective Hollow Souls release their third single “Bad Things”, joining forces with Chris Tapp of The Cold Stares for a gritty, swamp tinged collaboration out now on all streaming platforms. Following previous singles “Borderline” featuring Jared James Nichols and “Shotgun” featuring Jon Marv Harvey from Monster Truck, Kris Barras expands the group’s collaborative vision once again. Tapp, known for his work on video game soundtracks and TV placements, co wrote and recorded the song remotely from his Evansville home studio, adding his cool vocal delivery to Phoebe Jane’s punchy choruses. Barras says, “I have admired Chris and the work of Cold Stares for a long while and I’ve sort of been waiting for the right track to work on together to drop out of my head. I knew instantly he would take this song up ten notches. He did, and I’m so grateful to have him involved.”

The partnership grew naturally from a long standing friendship between Barras and Tapp, first sparked on Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea cruise. For this track, Barras and Josiah J Manning built the initial structure before inviting Tapp to shape the verses freely, creating a seamless duet with Phoebe Jane. Barras explains, “It’s important for me to have the guests bring their own flavour to the songs and put their own stamp on things. We loved what he came back with and turned it into a duet with Hollow Souls’ main singer Phoebe Jane.” With its upbeat swagger and rich southern edge, “Bad Things” continues Hollow Souls’ run of dynamic, collaborative blues rock storytelling.
