Calum Scott Shares Heartfelt New Ballad ā€œDie For Youā€ From Upcoming Album ā€˜Avenoir’

0

Today, multi-platinum singer-songwriterĀ Calum ScottĀ premieres his new singleĀ ā€œDie For Youā€Ā ā€” a tender declaration of fiercely devoted love. The latest release from his upcoming third albumĀ Avenoir, due out September 12th, ā€œDie For Youā€ reaffirms the UK-based artist’s incredible talent for crafting the kind of songs that become the soundtrack to our lives’ most meaningful moments. Listen to ā€œDie For Youā€Ā HERE, watch the official lyric video below and goĀ HEREĀ to pre-orderĀ AvenoirĀ now.

Anchored in his gently commanding vocal work, ā€œDie For Youā€ was written by Calum, Jon ā€œMAGSā€ Maguire, and Corey Sanders — the very same trio of songwriters who penned his 5X platinum smashĀ ā€œYou Are The Reasonā€Ā (an iconic standout from his gold-certified 2018 debutĀ Only Human, also featuring his 3x platinum, Brit Award-nominated cover ofĀ Robyn’sĀ ā€œDancing On My Ownā€). In a departure from the larger-than-life energy of Calum’s previous singleĀ ā€œGod Knows,ā€Ā ā€œDie For Youā€ unfolds with an intimacy that fully intensifies its unfettered emotion.

ā€œI have been eagerly anticipating for the last four years to release this song,ā€ says Calum. ā€œAfter experimenting with more uptempo songs on the album, I wanted something that spoke to the soul. ā€˜Die For You’ is a classic devotion of love, a poetic and visual kind of storytelling that from my earliest dreams of being an artist, was what I always saw myself performing. This feels just as special to me as ā€˜You Are The Reason’ and ā€˜Dancing On My Own.’ I’m so excited for the world to hear this.ā€

Since first rising to global fame, Calum has heard from countless fans who’ve shared their stories of incorporating his songs into weddings, end-of-life rituals, and other major life events. With ā€œDie For You,ā€ he continues that legacy by delivering a love song for the ages. After opening on a somber expression of regret (ā€œI wish that it was simple/I wish there was a way/To fix what I have broken/To change the way I’m madeā€), the piano-led ballad reaches a glorious urgency at the chorus:Ā ā€œIf the world was on fire/I’d fight it for you/I’d cry enough water/And breathe all the fumes.ā€Ā With its sweeping strings and delicate acoustic guitar, ā€œDie For Youā€ also finds Calum’s voice drifting into a breathtaking falsetto — a moment that perfectly captures the bittersweet ache that comes with loving someone so intensely.

The follow-up toĀ Calum’s acclaimed sophomore albumĀ Bridges — a 2022 LP including hits likeĀ ā€œRiseā€Ā (hailed byĀ Rolling StoneĀ as ā€œone of the 50 Most inspirational LGBTQ Songs of All Timeā€),Ā ā€œBiblical,ā€Ā andĀ ā€œIf You Ever Change Your Mindā€Ā ā€”Ā AvenoirĀ borrows its title from John Koenig’sĀ The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, a word-construction project that defines ā€œavenoirā€ as ā€œthe desire that memory could flow backward.ā€ Along with soul-stirring songs like ā€œDie For You,ā€Ā AvenoirĀ contains a number of tracks that lean toward the dance-ready sound of past releases likeĀ ā€œRootsā€Ā (aĀ blissed-out summer anthem released last July),Ā ā€œWhere Are You Nowā€Ā (a gold-certified collaboration withĀ Lost FrequenciesĀ that earned a 2023 BRIT Award Nomination for Best International Song and cracked the Top 20 on the Spotify Global Chart), andĀ ā€œWhistleā€Ā (his gold-certified collaboration with producer/DJ/multi-instrumentalistĀ Jax Jones).

As announced last month, Calum will soon embark on ā€œThe Avenoir Tourā€ — a massive headline run set to bring his phenomenal live show to 24 cities across the UK and Europe and 24 cities across North America. (Check out the tour trailerĀ here.) With his latest live experience including performing at stadiums across Asia and Europe as support forĀ Ed Sheeran’sĀ Mathematics Tour, Calum will take the stage at famed venues like London’s OVO Wembley Arena, The Wiltern in Los Angeles, and Terminal 5 in New York City. VistĀ www.calumscott.com/tourĀ for the full itinerary.

With over 10 billion streams worldwide, Calum’sĀ songs have appeared on countless TV shows over the years (includingĀ ā€œAmerican Idol,ā€ ā€œThe Voice,ā€ ā€œSo You Think You Can Dance,ā€ ā€œGrey’s Anatomy,ā€Ā and many more). His television performances include ā€œLate Night with Seth Meyers,ā€ ā€œGood Morning America,ā€ ā€œLive with Kelly and Ryan,ā€Ā ā€œDancing With The Stars,ā€Ā and theĀ ā€œThe TODAY Show,ā€Ā among others. In addition,Ā CalumĀ has garnered acclaim from outlets includingĀ BillboardĀ (who praised his ā€œstunningly pure voiceā€),Ā The Huffington PostĀ (who stated that ā€œScottĀ makes an impressive splash…compellingā€), andĀ Rolling StoneĀ (who declared that ā€œ[Scott] can give any listener chillsā€).Ā Stay tuned for more new music fromĀ CalumĀ soon.

The Greatest Duos In Music History

0

Two voices. Two visions. One unstoppable sound. Throughout music history, something magical has always happened when two minds collide in perfect harmony (or sometimes tension). From heart-melting ballads to genre-defining innovation, duos have given us some of the most unforgettable songs of all time.

Sure, solo stars steal headlines, and bands bring the noise—but duos? Duos bring chemistry. Here’s a salute to some of the greatest duos to ever share a mic, a studio, or a beautifully co-dependent tour van.

Simon & Garfunkel
The gold standard for folk harmony. Whether it’s ā€œThe Sound of Silenceā€ or ā€œBridge Over Troubled Water,ā€ their intricate blend of melody and melancholy defined a generation—and still gives goosebumps.

The Carpenters
Karen Carpenter’s voice? Timeless. Alongside her brother Richard, they created soft pop masterpieces that somehow sound like both heartbreak and home. ā€œClose to Youā€ remains a masterclass in restraint.

The Everly Brothers
Before Lennon & McCartney, there were Don & Phil. Their tight vocal harmonies laid the foundation for modern pop and country crossovers, and inspired everyone from the Beatles to Simon & Garfunkel.

The White Stripes
Jack and Meg stripped rock down to its raw essentials: guitar, drums, and attitude. With tracks like ā€œSeven Nation Army,ā€ they proved a duo can make more noise than a full band.

Sonny and Cher
Glamorous, witty, and oddly perfect together—on stage, if not always in real life. ā€œI Got You Babeā€ is pure ’60s pop perfection, and Cher’s legacy proves duos can launch solo legends.

The Righteous Brothers
The original ā€œblue-eyed soulā€ duo. ā€œUnchained Melodyā€ and ā€œYou’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelinā€™ā€ are so iconic, they’ve become shorthand for emotional, full-throttle romance in pop music.

OutKast
AndrĆ© 3000 and Big Boi didn’t just dominate hip-hop—they redefined it. Southern rap met funk, psychedelia, and space opera, and somehow it worked. ā€œHey Ya!ā€ and ā€œMs. Jacksonā€ still hit like day one.

Hall and Oates
Pop, soul, rock—they blended it all. With hits like ā€œRich Girl,ā€ ā€œManeater,ā€ and ā€œYou Make My Dreams,ā€ they became the most successful duo in music history. And their mustaches weren’t bad either.

Ike and Tina Turner
Yes, their story is complicated. But musically? Unstoppable. ā€œProud Maryā€ remains one of the greatest reimaginings of a rock song ever. Tina’s stage presence redefined frontwoman energy forever.

The Black Keys
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney took garage rock, dipped it in blues, and cranked it to 11. With gritty, riff-driven hits like ā€œLonely Boy,ā€ they made raw sound mainstream again.

Daft Punk
Robot masks. Human grooves. Daft Punk turned electronic music into an emotional experience. ā€œGet Luckyā€ was just the peak of a career filled with genre-defining club anthems.

Sam and Dave
The sound of soul itself. With tracks like ā€œSoul Manā€ and ā€œHold On, I’m Comin’,ā€ their blend of gospel energy and Southern grit made them legends on Stax Records—and dance floors forever.

Eric B. & Rakim
Pioneers. Innovators. Gods of flow. Rakim changed rap lyricism forever, and Eric B.’s production laid the golden-age blueprint. ā€œPaid in Fullā€ is more than a song—it’s a movement.

Pet Shop Boys
Dry wit meets lush synth-pop. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe turned deadpan vocals and danceable beats into an art form. ā€œWest End Girlsā€ is still cooler than most new wave ever was.

Richard and Linda Thompson
Folk’s greatest heartbreakers. Their chemistry—both musical and emotional—resulted in some of the genre’s most searing, haunting records. Shoot Out the Lights is required listening.

Steely Dan
Jazz-rock perfectionists with biting lyrics and pristine production. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker made albums that sound like they were recorded in a dimension where nothing goes out of tune.

Tears for Fears
Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith made cerebral pop catchy and cathartic. From ā€œEverybody Wants to Rule the Worldā€ to ā€œMad World,ā€ their songs still sound like therapy sessions set to synths.

Captain & Tennille
They gave us ā€œLove Will Keep Us Togetherā€ā€”and somehow made that sentiment feel both cheesy and true. The duo embodied ā€˜70s sunshine pop with a soft-rock heart.

Eurythmics
Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart mixed icy synths with red-hot soul. ā€œSweet Dreams (Are Made of This)ā€ is still one of the most instantly recognizable tracks in music history.

Jan and Dean
Before the Beach Boys ruled the waves, Jan and Dean were the surf-pop pioneers. With ā€œDead Man’s Curveā€ and ā€œSurf City,ā€ they soundtracked the California dream.

Savage Garden
Late ’90s radio royalty. With their soaring pop melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones delivered hits like ā€œTruly Madly Deeplyā€ that still feel deeply personal today.

Indigo Girls
Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are folk-rock soulmates. Their harmonies are unmatched, their activism unapologetic, and their connection with fans deeply personal. ā€œCloser to Fineā€ still hits home.

Two artists, one vision, and a world of unforgettable music. And if this proves anything, it’s that sometimes, it does take two.

Warren and Jelly Roll debuted the previously unreleased song last month in front of 80,000 people as a surprise during Jelly Roll’s Stagecoach set. Fans have been eagerly awaiting its release ever since.

On the single Alex Warren shares,Ā ā€œBloodline is a record about overcoming generational trauma… it’s a reminder that where you came from and the way you were raised doesn’t define who you are today.ā€

ā€œBloodlineā€ follows Warren’s earth-shattering hit,ā€œOrdinary,ā€Ā released in February to rave reviews, counting over half a billion streams to date, and topping the charts. The smash hit has spent three weeks #2Ā on the Billboard Hot 100 and three weeks as #1 on the Billboard Global 200 songs chart. ā€œOrdinaryā€ was not only Warren’s first top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, but itĀ  also made him the first solo artist to have a top 10 song on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2025.

ā€œOrdinaryā€ has also spent nine consecutive weeks at No.1 on the UK chart. This marks the longest running No.1 in the UK by a US male solo act in more than 60 years.Ā Alex has been the cover ofĀ Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits for the last month and he’s currently holding strong at the #1 spot on the playlist. ā€œOrdinaryā€ also continues to rise inside the top 10 at Top 40 radio. His #1 hit single ā€œSave Meā€ — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt— set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights including a Platinum certification from the RIAA on the heels of his 28-week reign at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Most recently, ā€œSave Meā€ earned Jelly his first ACM win for Music Event of the year, released his new album Beautifully Broken on October 11 and launched his Beautifully Broken Tour on August 27th following his seven consecutive #1 singles: ā€œI Am Not Okay,ā€ ā€œChevroletā€ – Dustin Lynch feat. Jelly Roll, ā€œHalfway To Hell,ā€ ā€œSave Me,ā€ ā€œNeed A Favor,ā€ ā€œSon of A Sinnerā€ & ā€œDead Man Walking.ā€

Not just an artist but a humanitarian, Jelly continues to resonate with fans on a global scale while racking up numerous milestones – from playing his sold-out hometown show for 18,000 fans at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to donating a recording studio at the juvenile detention center he served in as a teen, to the release of his record-breaking documentary by ABC News, ā€œSave Meā€ – the most watched music documentary on the platform – to his visits with rehab centers and those incarcerated across the US. Featured by Nightline, GMA, GMA3, The New York Times, LA Times, The Tennessean, Billboard, Variety, American Songwriter, CMT and more, his self-built, unconventional industry rise and unique fan connection has garnered praise from numerous outlets, with Variety noting, ā€œfor everyone who’s facing the same struggles, Jelly Roll is their Springsteen,ā€ and American Songwriter echoing, ā€œwith a string of accolades and an extremely dedicated following, Jelly Roll has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.ā€

Benson Boone Shares Emotional New Ballad ā€œMomma Songā€ Ahead Of ā€˜American Heart’ Album Release

0

Today, Grammy-nominated global pop sensation Benson Boone shares his heartfelt new ballad, ā€œMomma Song.ā€ The track serves as the next taste of his highly anticipated new album American Heart, arriving June 20.

Dedicated to his mother, ā€œMomma Songā€ sees Boone lean into the vulnerable side of his songwriting. ā€œTake me down your old street, tell me your memories of when you were young and when you fell in love.ā€

The track arrives on the heels of recent anthem ā€œMystical Magical.ā€ Benson first debuted the song last month at Coachella, where he also brought out surprise guest Brian May of Queen for an acclaimed, viral performance of ā€œBohemian Rhapsody.ā€

He first introduced American Heart with ā€œSorry I’m Here For Someone Else,ā€ his first release of the year. The track is currently climbing the radio charts, sitting in the top 10 at Top 40 and Hot AC radio. It followed his show-stopping performance of smash hit ā€œBeautiful Thingsā€ at the 67th annual Grammy Awards in February, where he was nominated for Best New Artist. Earlier this month, he lit up the Saturday Night Live stage, where he made his debut as musical guest performingĀ  ā€œSorry I’m Here For Someone Elseā€ and ā€œMystical Magical.ā€ Up next, Boone will hit the stage at the American Music Awards, performing ā€œMystical Magicalā€ live this Monday, May 26 on CBS.

ā€œBeautiful Thingsā€ was the #1 most streamed song in the world last year, earning Boone the IFPI Global Single Award for 2024.. Certified 5x Platinum, the chart-conquering track has now surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify and over 4 billion total streams since its release last year. Featured on his acclaimed, Platinum certified debut album Fireworks & Rollerblades, the viral smash logged an impressive 7 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, hit #1 at Top 40, Hot AC, and AC radio, and vaulted to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also earned Boone two Billboard Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, an iHeartRadio Music Award, the BMI Champion Award, and multiple global accolades.

Boone is on track for a record year of touring in 2025. His American Heart North American arena tour—which includes stops at Madison Square Garden in New York and Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, among others—sold out instantly. Last year, he opened for Taylor Swift’s ERAS Tour in London at Wembley stadium, following a performance with Lana Del Rey at Hangout Festival in May, in addition to embarking on his own fully sold-out Fireworks & Rollerblades Tour, playing shows across the globe.

With the upcoming release of American Heart, performances at landmark festivals across the globe, and a highly-anticipated arena tour on the horizon, Boone is on track for another chart-topping, boundary-breaking year ahead.
