My Chemical Romance, Tool, Limp Bizkit Lead Massive 2026 Aftershock Festival Lineup

0

Aftershock returns to Sacramento’s Discovery Park in 2026 with its biggest lineup yet, bringing more than 140 artists to five stages across the expanded festival grounds. Promoter Danny Wimmer Presents also introduces onsite camping for the first time, marking a major evolution for the four-day rock and metal event.

“This year’s Aftershock marks a bold new chapter for the festival,” says Danny Wimmer. “We’ve brought together metal, punk, emo, and nu-metal to create a lineup that’s raw, youthful, and unapologetic. With TOOL anchoring the weekend and Pierce The Veil making their headlining debut, we’re breaking boundaries and redefining what Aftershock can be. And after years of fan requests, we’re finally introducing camping.”

Headliners across the weekend include My Chemical Romance, The Offspring, and Sublime on Thursday, followed by Limp Bizkit, $uicideboy$, and Wu-Tang Clan on Friday. Saturday features Pierce The Veil, A Day To Remember, and Babymetal, while Sunday closes with Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, and Danny Elfman. The lineup also stretches across generations of heavy music with appearances from Coheed and Cambria, Dethklok, Dance Gavin Dance, Public Enemy, Insane Clown Posse, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

Special sets add even more weight to the bill. Circa Survive reunite for a West Coast performance, Wolfmother celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, and Municipal Waste mark 25 years with a dedicated anniversary set. The festival grounds also expand with experiences like the Tremors Dive Bar, Cantina del Diablo open-air cantina, the Aftershock x Jungle Bird Tiki Bar, and the new Overtime Sports Bar near The Point, a shaded viewing area tuned to major sporting events throughout the weekend.

Camping arrives for the first time with RV, car, and tent options available at nearby Cal Expo, including festival re-entry and shuttle access. Campers also receive entry to a Wednesday night pre-party hosted by Rock & Brews featuring complimentary drinks, mini golf, batting cages, and more. Aftershock welcomed more than 164,000 fans in 2025 and generated an estimated $39 million in local economic impact, underscoring the festival’s growing scale.

Manchester Indie Rockers The Guest List Drop Blistering New Single “Something Real”

0

Manchester indie rock five-piece The Guest List launch into 2026 with the release of their sharp and urgent new single “Something Real.” The track follows a breakout year that included a sold-out 14-date UK headline tour and the arrival of their debut EP ‘When The Lights Are Out.’ Now the band return with a song that pushes both their sound and their message further into focus.

Driven by upbeat guitars and biting lyrics, “Something Real” takes aim at a fractured modern landscape shaped by algorithms, outrage cycles, and culture-war noise. Frontman Cai Alty cuts through the chaos with the stark lines “hate… is on trend / war… is on trend,” before the song lands on its defining moment, “And I know that it blows your mind just to hear me saying something real.” The track hits with urgency and conviction, delivering a sharp jolt of modern indie rock energy.

“This is the song that best represents what we want to say and be,” explains Alty. “It’s about finding something meaningful in a world where trolls, comment bots, algorithms and whistleblowers dictate public understanding. Where suffering is normalised, and where our most hateful impulses are nurtured. We hope that people find this song as genuine as we do.”

The band’s rise continues to gather speed. Rolling Stone UK praised their sound as “a thrillingly ambitious… reminiscent of Humbug-era Arctic Monkeys,” while The Independent tipped the group as one of the UK’s next major guitar bands. With over 5 million Spotify streams and a reputation for a powerful live show that has already taken them to Glastonbury, The Great Escape, and TRNSMT, The Guest List enter the year with serious momentum.

They take that energy back to the stage this spring with a 14-date UK headline tour beginning April 7 in Dublin and running through April 24 in Brighton and Hove.

George Birge And Luke Bryan Hit The Gas With “Ride, Ride, Ride”

0

Texas country singer-songwriter George Birge keeps his momentum rolling with the official music video for “Ride, Ride, Ride,” his collaboration with five-time Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan. The new visual arrives as the track climbs both the Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay charts, marking Birge’s fastest-rising single to date.

Directed by Corey Miller, the video unfolds inside a rustic barn filled with natural light. The camera moves between Birge and Bryan as sunlight cuts through the wooden beams, matching the song’s message about resilience and pushing forward when the road gets rough. The stripped-back setting places the lyrics at the center while the two artists trade verses that echo the song’s passing-down-of-wisdom story.

“Luke brings positive energy and star power to everything he does,” shares Birge. “I was so thankful he agreed to be part of this music video. The grit and the visuals really helped bring the song to life, and I can’t wait for fans to see it.”

Early reaction to the track continues to grow. Country Now called the song a “soul-stirring, backroads anthem for anyone who’s ever faced hardship and is seeking a dose of resilience and courage to help get them through it.” The collaboration bridges experience and rising momentum, creating a modern country track built for both radio and the stage.

Birge keeps that energy moving on the road. He performs tomorrow night at Fine Line in Minneapolis as part of his headlining “Cowboy Songs Tour,” which runs through late April. Later this year, he will join Darius Rucker on the “Songs Of The Summer Tour 2026,” adding another major run to a year that continues to build for one of country music’s fastest-rising artists.

Killswitch Engage return to the road this summer with a major U.S. headlining tour that launches June 3 in Detroit and runs through June 27 in San Francisco. The metalcore leaders bring serious firepower with them, including support from Machine Head, Iron Reagan, and Havok. The run also includes festival appearances at Milwaukee Metal Fest and DC Warped Tour Weekend.

The tour marks the band’s first U.S. trek since last year’s Summer of Loud Tour and arrives as momentum around ‘This Consequence’ continues to surge. The album is out now via Metal Blade and delivered a Top 5 rock radio single with “I Believe,” which climbed to No. 3. The record powered a massive winter and spring 2025 tour and landed the band on the covers of Revolver and Outburn.

“I’m extremely excited to get back out on the road supporting our newest album, This Consequence!,” says frontman Jesse Leach. “We are hitting major cities and bringing along with us an absolutely killer lineup with the legendary Robb Flynn and Machine Head, thrash masters Iron Reagan, and rounded out by the mighty Havok. British Folk Singer-Songwriter Lucy Kitchen Releases New Album ‘In The Low Light’

0

British folk singer-songwriter Lucy Kitchen has released her new album ‘In The Low Light’ via Bohemia Rose Records and Make My Day Records. The record blends hypnotic folk with touches of Americana and the spirit of 1970s singer-songwriters, marking a deeply personal chapter shaped by grief, reflection, and resilience.

Written following the death of her husband Stephen in October 2022, the album explores themes of loss, memory, transformation, and rediscovery. Kitchen explains, “A lot of it was written in the run up to and aftermath of my husband Stephen’s death from cancer. Some of these songs began as tiny poems I started writing as a way of capturing thoughts and feelings with no intention or pressure to turn them into songs… but over time some of them found their melody.”

Despite its emotional weight, the album also reflects the healing power of creativity. “For me, making this album was actually an incredibly life affirming, quite joyful experience. I’m interested in exploring the idea of rebirth through creativity – coming back to ourselves through our art and making something beautiful out of something hard,” Kitchen says.

Across its eleven songs, Kitchen draws on traditional folk storytelling and vivid imagery. The haunting opener “Winter King” explores longing through atmospheric metaphor, while “The Boatman” carries a defiant spirit rooted in classic folk themes of resistance. Other songs such as “The Ways We Were” and “Chemo Song” offer stark reflections on grief and the disorienting passage of time, with the former featuring Jon Thorne on double bass.

Moments of warmth and hope appear throughout the record as well. The jazz-tinged “Sunny Days”, the country shuffle of “Red Skies”, and the uplifting “Olivia” offer balance to the album’s heavier themes, reminding listeners that joy and connection can still surface alongside sorrow.

The album closes with “September’s Come”, a stripped-down performance of voice and guitar that reflects on reclaiming a once cherished month now shaped by personal loss. Kitchen says the process of making the album helped her reconnect with herself as an artist. “Making this album re-built me more than anything else. From the moment we started recording I just felt this pure excitement to be creating something new with these amazing musicians.”

International Market Spotlight: APAC – The Asia-Pacific region represents a massive opportunity for independent music companies – but success requires a market-specific approach. From Japan and South Korea to India and Southeast Asia, each territory has distinct consumer behavior, platform ecosystems, revenue models, and partnership structures. This market spotlight explores where indie labels should realistically focus their efforts, what entry strategies work in different territories, and how to prioritize markets based on genre, audience, and business goals.

Artist Development Beyond Music Releases – More artists are expanding beyond albums and tours to build careers in film and television scoring – bringing their unique creative voices into visual storytelling. This panel explores how recording artists are making the transition into composing and scoring for film, and what that shift means for modern artist development. Panelists will discuss creative pathways, collaboration models, and the business considerations behind moving into film composition, including rights, compensation, representation, and the role of labels and managers in supporting these opportunities.

Catalog as Strategy: Managing, Protecting & Scaling Long-Term Music Assets – As catalogs become more valuable – and more complex – independent labels are being forced to treat them less like passive libraries and more like core business infrastructure. This panel focuses on how to manage catalog strategically over time, from rights clarity and data hygiene to release planning, global exploitation, and risk management. Panelists will discuss how thoughtful catalog management supports sustainable growth, strengthens negotiating power with partners, and creates flexibility for future opportunities – whether that’s expansion, partnerships, or acquisition.

Building the Fan Lifecycle – As the music industry shifts from short-term attention to long-term relationships, label teams play a critical role in building and sustaining artist fan communities. This panel explores how labels are designing engagement strategies that go beyond releases and campaigns to create lasting connections between artists and their audiences. Experts will discuss how label teams use data, community platforms, content ecosystems, direct-to-fan strategies, and live experiences to deepen fan relationships over time.

Micro Genres, Macro Opportunities – The global music landscape is becoming more fragmented, highly focused genre scenes with deeply engaged fan communities are creating powerful opportunities for independent labels. From hyper-specific sounds to culturally rooted movements, these spaces offer strong identity, loyal audiences, and new pathways for growth. This session explores how indie labels can strategically collaborate around genre-driven communities – through cross-label partnerships, targeted marketing, community-led releases, and shared infrastructure – to expand reach and unlock new revenue streams.

From Spins to Strategy: Making Radio Work for Indies – Radio remains a powerful discovery and promotion channel – but for independent labels, knowing when and how to invest can make all the difference. This session explores how indie teams approach radio strategy today, from evaluating opportunities and allocating budgets to measuring impact and return on investment. Experts will discuss what’s working across formats and markets, what’s losing effectiveness, and how labels can make informed decisions about timing, spend, and campaign scale.

UGC & the Influencer Landscape: What’s Actually Working Now – User-generated content (UGC) and creator partnerships have become core drivers of music discovery, fan engagement, and release strategy. But with constant platform shifts and rising costs, independent labels must make smarter decisions about when to invest, how much to spend, and which partners actually deliver results. This session explores how teams are strategically leveraging creators, influencer campaigns, and fan-driven content across platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to build sustained visibility. Learn how to identify the right creator partnerships, determine timing within a release cycle, navigate budget constraints, structure campaigns, and measure impact.

Beyond the Music Video: Creating a Visual Legacy – Visual storytelling has become a core part of how artists introduce themselves, build recognition and grow lasting fandoms. This panel breaks down how labels and teams approach visual identity with clear budgets, performance goals, and return expectations. Panelists will share real benchmarks around spend (from $5K short-form campaigns to $250K+ flagship videos), how to determine the right level of investment, when visual campaigns deliver meaningful ROI, and how to build a consistent visual strategy that strengthens artist identity while supporting long-term business outcomes.

CFO Roundtable: Hard Lessons from Running an Independent Label – In this off-the-record CFO roundtable, senior finance leaders share the hard lessons learned from managing cash flow, structuring deals, forecasting growth, and navigating risk in an unpredictable market. From costly mistakes to smarter systems, this session delivers real-world insights for building financially resilient independent labels.

Durability Over Hype: Long-Term Thinking for Independent Companies – In an industry built around short-term wins and constant change, long-term survival has become one of the hardest challenges for independent music companies. This executive-level panel focuses on how indie labels and music businesses build durability over years, not release cycles. Rather than chasing trends, the conversation centers on repeatable decision-making, sustainable growth, and preserving independence while adapting to shifting markets. Designed for founders and senior executives, this session offers practical insights into building an indie business that lasts.

Metadata to Money: Solving the Metadata Gap – Inaccurate or incomplete metadata is one of the biggest – and most preventable – causes of lost revenue. Missing credits, incorrect identifiers, and inconsistent data across platforms can lead to uncollected royalties, delayed payments, rights disputes, and missed opportunities across the board. The conversation will provide practical solutions on best practices for metadata creation and management, quality control process, and tools that ensure accurate registration, tracking and reporting.

Owning Your Data: Navigating Distribution, Control, and Catalog Transitions – As the music industry consolidates, independent labels face growing challenges around data ownership, catalog management, and platform dependence. Relying solely on distributor-provided systems can lead to data lock-in and operational risk – especially if your partner is acquired or changes direction. This panel will unpack why controlling your own data is essential for long-term stability and flexibility, and explore the practical realities of catalog redistribution when changing distributors.

The New DNA of High-Performing Music Teams – The best music companies today are built on hybrid thinking: analytical meets creative, strategic meets relational, operational meets visionary. This panel breaks down the attributes of teams that consistently outperform – including role design, communication styles, talent composition, and leadership structures. Panelists will explore how organizations can mirror the audiences they serve and avoid “echo chamber” decision-making that limits innovation. Ideal for leaders optimizing team structure for future growth.

Right People, Right Time: Strategic Hiring for Music Companies – Hiring the right people at the right time can define a company’s trajectory. For independent labels and music companies, building an efficient team isn’t just about filling roles – it’s about aligning talent with vision, culture, and long-term growth. Panelists will share practical insights on when to expand your team, how to identify the right candidate beyond the resume, and how to build human-centered hiring practices that foster performance, trust, and retention.

Guitarist Zack Miranowic Releases “Reflections” From Upcoming Album ‘Sinking Low’

0

Southampton, New Jersey-based rock and metal guitarist Zack Miranowic has released his new single and video “Reflections”, the first preview of his upcoming album ‘Sinking Low’. The track continues Miranowic’s solo project – a deeply personal outlet built around massive riffs, dynamic songwriting, and melodic vocals with a raw edge.

Miranowic also handled the entire production process himself. “The album was completely produced, mixed, and mastered by me,” he says, highlighting the fully independent nature of the project.

Lyrically, “Reflections” explores themes of memory, regret, and self-examination. “In life we tend to think about our past and how certain events played out. At times we come to regret some of our decisions or think we could have done better, but the truth is that we just did what we thought was right at the time,” Miranowic says.

Known for his work with Disciples Of Verity, Sekond Skyn, and Riversend, Miranowic launched his solo project with the album ‘Fear’ in 2022 followed by the EP ‘Cryin’ Out’ in 2023. He plans to release additional singles throughout 2026 leading into the full release of ‘Sinking Low’.

Country Singer-Songwriter Keith Burns Releases “They Don’t Live Here” And Launches New Single Series

0

Country singer-songwriter Keith Burns – founding member of the platinum-selling trio Trick Pony – begins a new chapter in 2026 with a series of new solo releases. The first track, “They Don’t Live Here,” arrives March 13 as part of a Q2 waterfall series and was written by Burns and Ray Termini, who also produced the song. Inspired by the loss of Burns’ father, the track unfolds as a quiet reflection on memory, family, and the passage of time.

Burns says the song came together during a deeply personal moment. “Ray came to the writing session with the idea. Having just lost my dad in October, it came at the right time – sat with me in a big way,” Burns says. “We’ve both experienced the loss of our fathers, who, ironically, share the same name … and ‘Frank’ gets a special mention in the storyline. The song is really about the circle of life. It kind of just wrote itself.”

The new single highlights Burns’ continued presence in Nashville’s songwriting community following more than three decades in the industry. As a member of Trick Pony, he helped score three consecutive Top 10 hits – including “Pour Me” and “Just What I Do,” both co-written by Burns. He has also written songs for artists including Joe Diffie and later formed the duo Burns & Poe with Michelle Poe.

Burns’ momentum continues this year with an Inspirational Country Music Association nomination for Outlaw Gospel Artist of the Year. He will also co-host the 2026 Inspirational Country Music Awards – where he will perform “They Don’t Live Here” – at the Grand Ole Opry House on April 6.

Additional releases in the series will include “Cowboys Don’t Get Old,” featuring Tracy Lawrence, followed by Burns’ new version of the Trick Pony hit “Pour Me” titled “Pour Me (Single Shot),” celebrating the song’s 25th anniversary.
