Soul-Blues Sax Powerhouse Vanessa Collier Launches “Keep It Saxy” 2026 Tour

Soulful blues saxophonist and vocalist Vanessa Collier launches the spring leg of her year-long “Keep It Saxy” 2026 Tour on March 13 at Unit B in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The show begins at 7 p.m. as the multi-award-winning performer brings her high-energy mix of blues, funk, soul, and rock to stages across North America this spring.

Momentum surrounds Collier heading into the run. She is a triple nominee at the 2026 Blues Music Awards, earning recognition for B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Band of the Year, and Contemporary Blues Female Artist. Across her career she has earned fifteen nominations and five wins. The 47th Annual Blues Music Awards take place May 7 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Collier’s sixth album ‘Do It My Own Way’ arrived in September 2024 through her own Phenix Fire Records. Recorded on analog equipment with musicians performing together in the same room, the record channels the classic Memphis soul sound of Stax and Hi Records. Tracks like “Elbow Grease,” “Take Me Back,” “Shoulda Known Better,” and “Just One More” drive the album with punchy horn arrangements, layered vocals, and commanding saxophone work. Guns N’ Roses have extended their massive 2026 world tour, adding seven more North American dates to a schedule that already marks the band’s first U.S. and Canadian run in nearly three years. The Los Angeles hard rock icons launch the tour March 28 in Monterrey, Mexico, before moving through South America and Europe ahead of a summer return to North America.

Most of the band’s U.S. and Canadian shows land between July and September, with the newly added dates arriving at the tail end of the run. The tour follows Guns N’ Roses’ last North American outing in 2023, which closed with two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Presales for the newly announced shows are already underway.

Momentum is building around the band’s next chapter. Guns N’ Roses marked the tour announcement with two new songs, “Atlas” and “Nothin’.” Slash confirmed the group is now focused on newly written material rather than unreleased songs from the Chinese Democracy era. The response around the new tracks has been electric, a clear signal that the band still moves the needle across generations.

The 2026 Winter Paralympics open March 6 in Northern Italy, launching nine days of elite international competition. More than 600 athletes from 56 countries gather across venues in Milan, Cortina d’Ampezzo and Verona. The Games mark the 14th Winter Paralympics and arrive on the 50th anniversary of the event’s first edition.

The opening ceremony takes place at the Verona Arena in Italy and signals the official start of the Games. Coverage begins with a livestream starting at 1:30 p.m. ET, with the ceremony broadcast live beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

In the United States, NBCUniversal holds the broadcast rights. Live television coverage will air across NBC, USA Network and CNBC throughout the Games, delivering a mix of competition, highlights and featured events.

Streaming coverage will also be widely available. Peacock will carry live and on-demand coverage of every event, giving viewers access to the full competition schedule across all sports. NBC Sports Digital platforms will stream additional events throughout the nine-day program.

In total, NBCUniversal will present more than 80 hours of televised Paralympic programming. The main NBC network will air eight hours of coverage, including primetime highlight specials scheduled for March 7 and March 14.

Digital coverage expands the viewing experience even further. NBC Sports Digital will stream more than 270 hours of Paralympic competition, offering in-depth access to events from across the Alpine and Nordic venues.

The opening ceremony takes place at the historic Verona Arena, a Roman amphitheatre that sets the stage for one of the largest Paralympic gatherings in history. Competition then moves across multiple venues throughout northern Italy, mirroring the geographic spread used during the recent Winter Olympics.

Athletes will compete in 79 medal events across six sports. Para Alpine skiing, para biathlon, para cross-country skiing, para snowboarding, sled hockey and wheelchair curling form the competitive core of the Games. Together they create a program that blends speed, endurance, precision and team play across the alpine and Nordic landscapes of Italy.

Classification systems remain central to Paralympic competition. Athletes are grouped by impairment type and functional ability to create fair competition. Many events are divided into standing, sitting and vision impaired categories, while some sports organize athletes into specific sport classes that compete directly against one another.

Para Alpine skiing alone delivers one of the largest medal counts at the Games. Events such as downhill, slalom, giant slalom, super-G and combined races take place for both men and women across multiple classifications. Factored timing systems help level the field, allowing athletes from different classes to compete within the same category.

Para Nordic skiing, which includes biathlon and cross-country, adds endurance to the program. Biathlon events combine cross-country skiing with precision shooting, while cross-country races feature sprint, distance and relay formats. Athletes race within standing, sitting and vision impaired divisions, with relay events bringing multiple classifications together on the same team.

Para snowboarding continues to grow as one of the most dynamic winter events. Athletes compete in snowboard cross and banked slalom competitions, divided by upper-limb and lower-limb classifications. The format allows racers to compete head-to-head on the same course while maintaining balanced competition.

Team sports bring another dimension to the Games. Sled hockey features fast-paced action with six players per side on the ice, while wheelchair curling showcases precision and strategy in mixed-gender competitions. The mixed doubles curling event continues the sport’s expansion within the Paralympic program.

Several established Paralympic stars return to the spotlight in Milan Cortina. American champions Oksana Masters and Brenna Huckaby headline a strong United States contingent, while host nation Italy looks to decorated alpine skier Giacomo Bertagnolli to lead the home crowd.

Veteran competitors also add experience to the field. Britain’s Menna Fitzpatrick returns as the country’s most decorated Winter Paralympian, alongside Neil Simpson and his guide Andrew Simpson in visually impaired alpine events. Across the program, athletes from new and returning nations arrive ready to deliver defining performances.

Competition runs through March 15, closing with the sled hockey gold medal game. The 2026 Winter Paralympics stand as the largest and most globally connected edition of the Games to date, placing the world’s best para athletes on one of sport’s most visible stages.

Drummer, percussionist and producer Pupillo, one of the most influential figures in Brazilian music and a four-time Latin Grammy winner, releases his first original album through the Los Angeles–based label Amor in Sound. The record brings together an impressive and diverse group of collaborators from Brazil and abroad. Amor in Sound is run by Samantha Caldato, the project’s executive producer and creative director, and Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys), who co-produced the album alongside Pupillo. The project was developed in a free, experimental environment, allowing the artist to explore the many rhythmic and sonic territories that have shaped his career — from Northeastern Brazilian traditions to jazz, hip hop, and cinematic soundscapes. The album features special appearances by Brazilian artists such as Céu, Rodrigo Amarante, Agnes Nunes, Amaro Freitas, Davi Moraes, Alberto Continentino and Pedro Martins, alongside a strong roster of international collaborators, including Carminho, Gaslamp Killer, Loren Oden, Adrian Younge, Cut Chemist and Hervé Salters (known for his work with General Elektriks). The album’s 12 tracks were further enriched by contributions from Jeremy Gustin, Roberto Schilling, and other musicians who make Amor in Sound Studios in Los Angeles a place of creative exchange.

Beyond his work as the drummer of Nação Zumbi, Pupillo has built a prolific career as a producer and collaborator with some of the most important names in Brazilian music, including Gal Costa, Nando Reis, Erasmo Carlos, Céu, and Otto, helping to shape the sound of multiple generations. This trajectory has earned him four Latin Grammy Awards.

From Pernambuco, Pupillo is also an acclaimed composer for cinema, having written soundtracks for films such as Arido Movie and Blue Blood (directed by Lirio Ferreira), The Assailant (directed by João Daniel Tikhomiroff), among others. This cinematic sensibility permeates the album, which unfolds like a film, moving through richly textured soundscapes that cross continents and musical traditions.

Throughout his career, drummer Pupillo has built a trajectory defined not only by his work behind the drum kit, but also by his role as a music producer and film score composer.

As a member of Nação Zumbi from 1995 — alongside Chico Science — until 2018, Pupillo took part in landmark albums such as Afrociberdelia (1996), Rádio S.Amb.A. (2000), and Fome de Tudo (2007), records that remain central to the band’s influential legacy.

His career as a music producer began in 2000 with Baião de Viramundo – Tributo a Luiz Gonzaga (co-produced).
