Guitar Market To Grow By USD 1.9 Billion From 2022 To 2027

0

The guitar market is estimated to grow by USD 1.9 billion from 2022 to 2027, growing at a CAGR of 7.75%.

By Geography, the market is classified as North AmericaEurope, APAC, South America, and Middle East and AfricaNorth America will have the largest share of the market.

North America accounts for 43% of the growth of the global market during the forecast period. The US is one of the main countries that is significantly contributing to the growth of the global guitar market in North America due to several factors such as the launch of innovative products, the increasing use of online platforms to shop for guitars, and the rising demand for designer guitars. In addition, the increasing demand for eco-friendly guitars is expected to positively impact the market growth in the region. Furthermore, the main aspect of the eco-friendly guitar is that is made from wood types that are not specified under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) such as ebony, koa, poplar, basswood, khaya, and ovangkol. In addition, other factors that are fuelling the market growth in the region include the growing number of rapidly emerging musicians, the increasing number of educational institutions offering music as a subject, and the rising adoption of music as a hobby among the population in North America. Hence, such factors drive the market growth in the region.

The market share growth of the acoustic segment is significant during the forecast period. The increasing adoption of acoustic guitars in developing countries is signficantly contributing to the growth of this segment. The main feature of the segment is that it is designed in such a way that it does not need any electric amplification for modulation or the projection of sound. There is a growing adoption of this segment across various developing countries including India and Brazil due to factors such as high affordability and availability, along with their low cost and low initial investment requirement when compared to electric guitars. Hence, such factors are fuelling the growth of this segment which in turn will drive the market growth during the forecast period.

U.S. Postal Service Reveals Stamps for 2024 With Tribute To Bluegrass Music

0

The U.S. Postal Service today announced many of the stamps it will issue in 2024.

“As always, our stamp program features a broad array of subjects and designs. Stamps are miniature works of art and often tell a story that highlights our American culture, our people or an important point in our history,” said Lisa Bobb-Semple, acting Stamp Services director for USPS. “Stamps also allow us to show what’s important to us as we carefully select which stamp adorns our mailpieces. The 2024 stamps were designed to offer the American public a broad array of choices for those looking to collect stamps or send a special message.”

In March, they will put the spotlight on bluegrass music.

Born in the mid-20th century, bluegrass defies time, drawing inspiration from the past while also openly embracing innovation. At once rural and urban, emotional and highly technical, this singular American music style remains unconstrained by geography, attracting fans worldwide who all share the same passion for what they affectionately call the “high lonesome sound.”

Inspired by vintage bluegrass concert posters, the stamp art features four acoustic string instruments typical of bluegrass bands: guitar, five-string banjo, fiddle, and mandolin. Text at the top of the stamp reads “High Lonesome Sound,” the title of a 1963 documentary about Appalachian folk music and a familiar nickname for bluegrass.

The five-string banjo dominates the sound of bluegrass and, along with guitar, mandolin, and bass, sets the rhythmic foundation of this often fast-paced music. Fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar evoke a range of melodic flavors and emotions in their solos and backup. Instrumental dexterity, combined with tight vocal harmonies and heartfelt, sometimes mournful lyrics, creates an electrifying and emotional experience for both performers and listeners.

Music historians generally agree that bluegrass as we know it originated with Bill Monroe (1911–1996), who drew on old-time fiddle and church music as well as gospel, blues, and jazz to fashion a style of music that was both brand-new and achingly familiar. By 1945, Monroe and his band, the Blue Grass Boys, had solidified the key components of bluegrass: refined vocal harmonies, driving tempos, and outstanding musicianship.

Once viewed as a type of country music, bluegrass—which musicologist Alan Lomax famously described as “folk music with overdrive”—emerged as its own distinct genre in the 1950s. Soon the music could be found just about everywhere, from college campuses and large urban areas to television shows and movies. Outdoor festivals became a mainstay of bluegrass in the 1970s, a period when the music took off in new directions as bands eagerly incorporated influences from rock and pop.

Today, although bluegrass enjoys relatively little radio exposure, the music continues to thrive. The nonprofit International Bluegrass Music Association was founded in 1985, a bluegrass category was added to the Grammy Awards in 1989, and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame was founded in Owensboro, Kentucky, in 1991. Billboard launched its bluegrass albums chart in 2002, two years after the wildly popular soundtrack to the film O Brother, Where Art Thou? introduced bluegrass to yet another generation of fans. Today, bluegrass festivals held around the world, like the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado and Bluegrass Live! in North Carolina, draw thousands of fans every year.

Art director Antonio Alcalá worked with designer and illustrator Heather Moulder to produce the stamp art.

This growth is expected to be characterized by a robust compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.4% during the forecast period spanning from 2023 to 2028.

A vinyl record, also known as a phonograph record, is an analog sound storage device made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic. These discs may have a core composed of metal, resin, cardboard, or glass, and they contain grooves with modulated sound information. Vinyl records are experiencing a resurgence in popularity among both music collectors and contemporary artists, making them a cherished medium for music production.

  2. Music Enthusiasts and Collectors: Music collectors, audiophiles, and DJs value vinyl records as prized possessions, using them for concerts, shows, and music recordings. Vinyl records also hold significant cultural and historical value in the world of music.
  3. Music Label Promotion: Popular music labels are organizing events and offering deluxe or limited-edition albums to promote vinyl records.
  4. Technological Advancements: Manufacturers are integrating technological advancements into vinyl records to enhance their capacity, maintain high-definition (HD) audio quality, and reduce production costs.
  5. Celebrity Promotion: Celebrities and music personalities are actively promoting vinyl records, contributing to their growing demand.
  6. Increasing Consumer Spending: The rising disposable incomes of consumers are driving the demand for vinyl records.

First “Blush” Of Spring: Neo-Goth Rockers VAZUM Welcome The Coming Thaw

0

A Detroit deathgaze duo are the last folks you’d expect to suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, but Vazum wants to make it clear winter can be a bummer for anybody. Their new single, “Blush,” is a hopeful and timely reminder that milder days lie ahead – a message to cling to, whether your personal tastes normally run toward daffodils or funeral lilies.

Appropriately enough, it all came out of their love of gardening. Last year, musical partners Zach Pilska (vocals, guitar and drums) and Emily Sturm (vocals, bass and synyhesizers) bought a church in Jackson, Michigan, to serve as their living space and personal studio. One of the first things they did was to turn the parking lot out front into an oasis of native pollinators and flowers. Watching that garden flourish as spring turned to summer planted the literal seed of a new song: a hymn of renewal to be repeated like an affirmation in times when all seems frozen and hopeless.

“Every Winter is a struggle to survive the cold, dark, bleak days and nights,” the band says. “Seasonal depression hits us all in different ways. We look forward to the Spring with much excitement, as the sun breathes new life to the flowers and trees.”

The song renders that phenomenon as a neatly repeating two-act drama. Over a driving beat and some angular, ominously chiming guitar, Sturm’s vocal places us in the middle of a winter “so cold and bitter” that its virtues are hard to spot:

Maybe it looks nice on paper
We’re always falling down

The chords and melody turn brighter, though, for the wholly redemptive chorus:

Sunny days coming soon
For your lover
Mellow, softly
Lifting you up

And so it goes, back and forth and on again and off again, for five reassuring minutes that embody the eternal process of quietus and rebirth.

It’s uplifting stuff indeed for an act that traditionally trades in deathgaze – a hybrid of deathrock, post-punk and shoegaze. The accompanying music video is a study in contrasts too, transitioning from foreboding shots of wintry skies to images of wildflowers filmed in that Jackson garden and projected onto the band members’ bodies as they play. The duo have even departed from their traditional jet-black duds, donning cheerier metallic and iridescent costumes for “a glimmer of hope.”

Vazum has seen plenty of seasons pass since Pilska began recording and performing under that name in 2017. He released three albums before meeting Sturm; as a duo, they’ve generated multiple singles, an EP and four albums, including last year’s V-, a compilation of re-recorded greatest hits. With “Blush” out January 5, they’re about to embark on a tour of the Southern U.S. Spring, as they say, has sprung.

Scotty McCreery Announces Upcoming ‘Cab In A Solo Tour’

0

With another recent RIAA certification under his belt, the most first-week adds at country radio (120) of his career for latest single “Cab in a Solo,” and on the heels of celebrating a milestone 30th birthday yesterday, Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery is ready to kick 2024 off with a bang.

Having spent almost half his life in the spotlight making country music, the North Carolina native continues to push himself creatively as well as personally and is set to launch the next chapter in his career with his headlining Cab in a Solo Tour. Named after his current single of the same name, McCreery will be joined by Anne Wilson as direct support as well as Greylan James and Noah Hicks on select dates. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick-off at Hobart Arena in Troy, OH on Jan. 26, 2024, and trek across the U.S. with stops in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston and more.

“I’m on the road year ‘round, but I always love putting together specific tours and I think next year’s Cab in a Solo Touris gonna be one of my favorites,” said McCreery. “Happy to have Anne Wilson join us on the road – she’s a great singer. Depending on the city, either Greylan James or Noah Hicks will be opening up the show and they’re both fantastic performers. And who knows, maybe I’ll share a few songs from my upcoming new album! I’m looking forward to it!”

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Cab in a Solo” offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck. Stream “Cab in a Solo” HERE.

Upon its release, Taste of Country declared “McCreery’s country roots shine.” With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.

“Cab in a Solo” follows the recent success of “It Matters to Her” the fastest climbing single of McCreery’s career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “Damn Strait” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “You Time,” all found on Same Truck: The Deluxe Album.

Earlier this summer McCreery joined the Brooks & Dunn REBOOT Tour 2023. He is currently out on the road for his own headlining tour with 25+ dates through the fall.
