Dutch Garage Rock Band Iguana Death Cult Release “Guns Out” From Upcoming Album ‘Guns Out’

0

Dutch garage rock band Iguana Death Cult have released the new single “Guns Out”, the title track from their upcoming album ‘Guns Out’. The record arrives April 10 via Greenway Records and The Reverberation Appreciation Society and marks a return to the band’s punchy garage rock roots after the more indie-leaning direction of their previous album ‘Echo Palace’.

Following the earlier single “I Like It, It’s Nice”, a quirky critique of consumer culture, “Guns Out” shifts the focus inward. The band describe the track as capturing the volatile energy of extreme mood swings, balancing moments of vulnerability with explosive bursts of chaotic rock intensity.

The Rotterdam group channels their early punk and garage influences across the album, driven by Tobias Opschoor’s sharp guitar riffs, Uri Rennert’s relentless drumming, Jimmy de Kok’s rhythmic groove, and Jeroen Reek’s raw vocals. The result is a tougher, more direct sound that reflects both personal introspection and the turbulent atmosphere surrounding the band.

TRACK LISTING:

  1. Guns Out
  2. I Like It, It’s Nice
  3. Swinging With Ghosts
  4. Lazarus
  5. Low
  6. Heavyweight
  7. Reckless Running
  8. Supreme Leader
  9. Need a Friend
  10. Deflated

Peter Gabriel Releases New Song “What Lies Ahead” From Upcoming Album ‘o\i’

0

Peter Gabriel has released the new song “What Lies Ahead”, the third track from his upcoming album ‘o\i’. The first version of the song arrives as the Bright-Side Mix by Mark “Spike” Stent, with Gabriel writing and producing the track. The song first appeared in instrumental form during Gabriel’s Back to Front Tour before evolving into its finished studio recording.

“What Lies Ahead” began with a melody created by Gabriel’s son Isaac, which the singer developed into a full composition. The track also features contributions from Jennie Abrahamson and Linnea Olsson, whose cello parts carried over from the early live arrangement, while John Metcalfe later expanded the sound with orchestral elements recorded in 2022. The powerful Scandinavian choir Orphei Drangar also appears on the recording, an idea encouraged by Brian Eno to open the song with a striking emotional atmosphere.

Gabriel describes the song as a reflection on invention and the creative process, inspired in part by watching his father, an electrical engineer and inventor, navigate the challenges of turning ideas into reality. The release also features artwork from feminist artist Judy Chicago’s 1982 piece Birth Tear/Tear, embroidered by Jane Thompson, which Gabriel says reflects themes of creation and the emotional parallels between giving birth and bringing ideas into the world.
