Texas rap world-builder Yakiyn charges into 2026 with “GET THE LOOT,” a trunk-rattling statement powered by Southern bass and sharp-edged confidence. Produced by fellow Texans SADER and Condo, the track slams with turntable stabs, snapping drums and a rumbling low end that leaves space for Yakiyn’s elastic flow. He bends cadence, shifts tone and stacks quotables with precision, declaring, “This the lifestyle that I live, man this sh*t done chose me.” The record hits hard and refuses to coast.
The video, directed by Cordell Jomha, locks into that same energy, placing Yakiyn at the center of clean, stylized scenes that feel both intentional and effortless, closing with a teaser of unreleased music. The single builds on a run that includes “CALCULATE,” “SPREAD LIKE BUTTA,” and “PUT DEM BOYS TO SLEEP,” plus his SAD BOI EP featuring Isaiah Rashad and Luke Bar$. “I get the loot, but what I really got was freedom,” says Yakiyn. “This song is for everybody who kept going when quitting made more sense.”
Taylor Swift marks Record Store Day 2026 with a special 7-inch release of “Elizabeth Taylor” from her Billboard 200-topping album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. The single, pressed on galactic purple-and-blue vinyl under the title “Cry My Eyes Violet Glitter,” arrives April 18 as an exclusive offering for independent record shops. Originally debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, the track stands apart from the album’s chart-topping hits “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite,” both of which reached No. 1.
‘The Life of a Showgirl’ spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, further cementing Swift’s dominance in this era. “Elizabeth Taylor” pays tribute to the legendary film icon, drawing praise from Christopher Wilding, who said, “They are both the very embodiment of female empowerment. The way [Swift] has deftly captured the similarities and parallel tracks in their careers and personal lives is delightful.” Record Store Day returns April 18, with Swift once again at the center of the vinyl conversation.
Hay-on-Wye duo Peiriant, Rose Linn-Pearl on violin and Dan Linn-Pearl on guitar, return with their third studio album ‘Plant’. The record expands their semi-improvised dialogue with earthy bass frequencies, textured electronics and sampled noise woven into a foundation of warmth and melodic familiarity. It is their most expansive statement to date, rooted in atmosphere and shaped by a deepening interplay between acoustic instruments and technology.
The album follows ‘Dychwelyd’, which traced a return to Cymru and the landscape of the Black Mountains of Bannau Brycheiniog, earning recognition from The Guardian as Folk Album of the Month and a top ten folk album of 2024. ‘Plant’, meaning children in Welsh, carries that narrative forward, reflecting shared concerns for the future alongside the immediacy of family life. Much of the material was developed in small, focused windows of time at the end of the day.
Improvisation informs each of the eight instrumental pieces, creating openness and flow. These compositions draw on the cadences of Cymraeg, spoken fluently by Rose and explored by Dan, translated into a wordless exchange between violin and guitar. Produced by Sam Grant at Blank Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne, the album incorporates Moog Grandmother bass, Korg Volca textures and Fieldtone Weaver sampling, with artwork by Amber Hiscott completing the project’s visual identity.

SiriusXM announced today that just weeks after being installed as Archbishop of New York, Archbishop Ronald Hicks will host a new program for SiriusXM’s Catholic Channel (ch. 129). “All Good Things with Archbishop Hicks,” a weekly program hosted by the newly appointed archbishop and co-host Fr. Dave Dwyer, will premiere today at 2pm ET.
Named Archbishop of New York by Pope Leo XIV on December 18, 2025, and installed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on February 6, 2026, Archbishop Hicks now brings his pastoral leadership and voice to a nationwide audience. The show will air every Tuesday afternoon and will also be available on demand on the SiriusXM app.
The program takes over the time slot previously held by Timothy Cardinal Dolan, who hosted “Conversations with Cardinal Dolan,” continuing The Catholic Channel’s tradition of offering listeners direct access to the Archbishop of New York and thoughtful, faith-based dialogue.
Each week, Archbishop Hicks and Fr. Dave will explore real-world issues, current events, and everyday life through a Catholic lens, offering grounded conversation rooted in Church teachings and lived pastoral experience. The show will also spotlight individuals and ministries fostering personal conversion and advancing evangelization in communities across the country.
Prior to his appointment in New York, Archbishop Hicks served as Bishop of Joliet, having been appointed by Pope Francis on July 17, 2020. Born August 4, 1967, in Harvey, Illinois, he holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from the University of St. Mary of the Lake and was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 21, 1994.
His previous leadership roles include serving as regional director of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) in Central America (2005–2010), Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago (2015), and Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago (2018). He also serves on the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations.
Fr. Dave Dwyer, Executive Director of Busted Halo Ministries and a longtime SiriusXM host, joins Archbishop Hicks each week, bringing decades of experience in Catholic media and evangelization.
Ringo Starr releases “It’s Been Too Long,” featuring the lush vocals of Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz, today, Tuesday, March 3, 2026. This is the first single from his forthcoming album Long Long Road, co-written and produced by T Bone Burnett. The 10-song album also includes collaborations with Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow and St. Vincent and is the highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s chart topping Look Up. Pre-Order Long Long Road HERE.
“I’m blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records,” Ringo stated.“After we did the last record, which I love listening to, this one just sort of happened. I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, like you can go left or right at any point, and one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road.”
As the title implies, and like Ringo’s own journey, Long Long Road has solid roots in Country and Americana, and evolved into something broader, creating an aural mosaic of Starr’s musical legacy and influences, including Carl Perkins. “I recorded two Carl Perkins songs with The Beatles, and both T Bone and I wanted one on this record,” Ringo explained, “and he found this beautiful track I’d never heard before, ‘I Don’t See Me In Your Eyes Anymore’.”
Recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, this record sees the return of many of the Look Up musicians including the core band (that T Bone affectionately dubs The Texans after the 1959 band Ringo played with in Liverpool) featuring Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tashian, Rory Hoffman, Patrick Warren and Colin Linden.
“I’ve loved Ringo’s playing and his singing for my whole life,” T Bone stated. “And then one night we were at a poetry reading together and he said, why don’t you write a song for me? So I wrote him a Gene Autry type song because I always heard Ringo as a Texas artist, the way he played felt just like Texas music to me. Ringo Starr is a recording artist of the highest caliber, and I wanted to surround him with these young masters, bringing in some of this extraordinary young energy that’s happening around Nashville for both of these records.”
Their first collaboration, Look Up, released January 10, 2025, brought overwhelming success and acclaim. It was Ringo’s first Country record in 50 years and it earned him his first Top 10 on Billboard’s all genre Top Album Sales chart, as well as landing him on multiple other Billboard Charts. In the UK, the album reached a significant career milestone garnering him his first solo #1 album on the Official Country Chart. In February 2025 Starr made his Grand Ole Opry debut after being invited by Emmylou Harris during the first of his two night run at the legendary Ryman, which was recorded for a 2 hour special still streaming on CBS/Paramount Plus.
Here are the 10-songs, 6 written or co-written by T Bone Burnett, two co-written by Ringo and Bruce Sugar, one written by Ringo Starr, Mark Hudson and Gary Burr and one by Bernie Benjamin and George David Weiss and recorded by Carl Perkins:

South Coast of Kent emo rap, punk, and rock artist LostBoy steps forward with his new single “Don’t Cry,” out now on all streaming platforms. The track cuts deep, drawn from lived experience and shaped by his perspective as an autistic artist navigating anxiety, depression, psychosis, and the weight of being misunderstood. His songwriting is direct and unfiltered, turning personal struggle into something shared and powerful. “Don’t Cry” lands with emotional punch, offering connection instead of isolation and strength instead of silence. It is a bold statement from an emerging voice carving out his own lane.
Oakland, California-based post-punk band False Figure have released their new full-length album, ‘Incarnate’. The record moves with urgency and purpose, threading together themes that have defined the band’s legacy while pushing their sound forward. From the tense unraveling of toxic dynamics in “Favorite Game” to the stark reckoning of “Original Sin” and the explosive charge of “Say Nothing,” the album refuses to sit still. The flow is relentless. One track feeds the next. ‘Incarnate’ lands as a sharp, modern statement on what post-punk can be, cathartic, lived-in, and built for listeners who feel the weight of the world and want it soundtracked at full volume.
