Wolfgang Van Halen Releases Shreddy New Single “The End” With Horror-Inspired Video

GRAMMY Award-nominated songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Wolfgang Van Halen is back with the latest single from the band he masterminds, Mammoth.

“The End” is an adrenaline-driven rocker that kicks off with a signature lead guitar riff that has become a fan-favourite element in Wolfgang’s music. The anthemic build of the intro gives way to the driving verse melody with each part carefully created and performed by Van Halen and his returning collaborator, Michael “Elvis” Baskette. The chorus is driven by the unforgettable vocal melody and the message of “Take your hand in mine and watch the end with me.”

Wolfgang Van Halen explains, “I’ve had the tapping idea on the intro for “The End” since before Mammoth. I was able to fit it into this world. It’s still over-the-top and shreddy, but it’s also melodic and controlled. Overall, I was doing some different things on the record, and I knew this was going to be a big step. Once we finished “The End” it felt really special to me.”

To coincide with the single release, Wolfgang and Mammoth have released a music video for “The End” that’s one for the history books and rarely seen in music videos anymore. Wolfgang teamed up with legendary director Robert Rodriguez to do a modern-day interpretation of Rodriguez’s 1996 hit film, From Dusk Till Dawn. The video tells the story of a rock band that is booked to play a show at a dive bar and given an ominous warning from the club owner portrayed by Danny Trejo.

Mammoth decides they know better, and things quickly turn dire for the band before a surprising revelation during the final moments ties the complete video lore from the band together. Friends of Mammoth, including Slash, Myles Kennedy, and Wolfgang’s mother, Valerie Bertinelli, all show up throughout the short film. Horror effects icon Greg Nicotero offered his talents to the video to create zombies, werewolves, and vampires that bring a deadly end to the attendees of the show.

With a short run of May dates creating excitement for a Mammoth tour, the band have also announced an autumn headline run across the USA. The End Tour kicks off on October 31st for 5 weeks. Longtime friend Myles Kennedy will be the special guest! Tickets will be on sale starting May 5th via artist presale and go on sale to the public on Friday, May 9th.

UK fans will be able to see Wolfgang Van Halen as part of the line-up at Black Sabbath’s special Back To The Beginning final concert on Saturday, July 5th at Birmingham’s Villa Park.

Laufey Announces ‘A Matter of Time’ With Fiery New Single ‘Tough Luck’

A Matter of Time, the highly anticipated new album from GRAMMY-winning Icelandic-Chinese artist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Laufey, is set for release on August 22.

Last month, Laufey teased the album release with a first sampling in the track “Silver Lining,” which she performed with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil at Coachella last month, as well as during her headline set at New Orleans Jazz Fest. Today, Laufey is debuting the album’s new single “Tough Luck.” Of the song, Laufey explains, “‘Tough Luck’ is a fiery song about love gone wrong. I wanted to reveal an angrier side of myself—a side that this unfortunate relationship brought out in me.”

As Laufey began to craft A Matter of Time, she felt freer than ever. “Every new album for me is a blank book of stories to write,” she says, and it’s true. An artist who pours her life experiences into her work, she infused 2022’s Everything I Know About Love with coming-of-age tales revolving around leaving home, and for 2023’s GRAMMY-winning Bewitched she dove headlong into young love. Brought to life with sweeping orchestral arrangements, interwoven strains of bossa nova and jazz, and Laufey’s honeyed alto, those albums cemented Laufey as a star who can make sounds from bygone eras feel timeless.

Now on A Matter of Time, Laufey further crystalizes her singular sound—one still rooted in her beloved influences, but which forgoes any strict standards or rules. “I’m constantly thinking about classical and jazz, how to properly preserve them and pay homage. For this album,” says Laufey, “I just wanted to let my heart wander.” To that end, she teamed with a pair of co-producers, one comforting and familiar—Spencer Stewart who worked with Laufey on her first two albums —and one new to her but deeply attuned to artists looking to open up: Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran). Feeling sonically unrestrained gave Laufey the space to share new sides of herself while exploring sometimes heavier themes. “People expect a pretty façade of girly clothes, fantastical stories, and romantic music,” she says. “This time, I was interested in seeing how I could draw out the most flawed parts of myself and look at them directly in the mirror.” A Matter of Time finds Laufey at her most daring—and also playful—as she captures the experience of “real love” in its many forms and what it means to observe as it strips you down to your most vulnerable and anxious.

Laufey (pronounced lay-vay) has captivated a generation with virtuosic songs of love and self-discovery by manifesting her vision of jazz-and classical-infused pop music. She has become a bridge for the older music she adores, from Chet Baker to Carole King to Ravel, by offering her bold interpretation to a younger crop of listeners who have become deeply connected over time. This was all by design — Laufey’s self-assigned raison d’être — and it worked, allowing her to bring to life the whimsical universe known as “Laufey Land.”

Raised between Reykjavik and Washington, D.C., she learned piano and cello as a child, later studying at Berklee College of Music. There, she wrote her debut EP, 2021’s Typical of Me, whose striking single “Street by Street” debuted at No. 1 on Icelandic Radio—the first of many achievements that have grown to include 5 billion global streams, a social media audience of 25 million, the biggest jazz LP debut in Spotify history and an album in Billboard’s Top 20 (both for Bewitched), a growing pile of Platinum plaques, a Forbes 30 Under 30 designation, and being named one of TIME’s 2025 Women of the Year. As she continues to shatter expectations, country music darling Sacha releases her latest single “Nice Girl” today. The Kinks Announce Final Chapter of ‘The Journey’ Trilogy

The Kinks, one of the greatest ever British rock groups, continue the 60th Anniversary celebrations of their illustrious musical journey with the final part of their career-defining trilogy, The Journey, out July 11 on BMG.

With The Journey – Part 1 (featuring Kinks standards such as ‘You Really Got Me’, ‘Waterloo Sunset’ and ‘All Day And All Of The Night’) and The Journey – Part 2 (which included ‘Lola’, ‘Sunny Afternoon’ and ‘Everybody’s A Star (Starmaker)’), released in 2023, The Journey – Part 3 covers their transformative RCA/Arista period spanning 1977 to 1984. The period saw the band finally break America, leaving behind their iconic pop and experimental phases, and returning to a fresh and concise style of classic songwriting that draws on their own distinct British sense of self.

Compiled by the band, the release comes on two discs. Disc 1 is made up of 11 classic tracks and hits from the era, freshly remastered from the original ¼” production master tapes including ‘Come Dancing’, ‘Destroyer’, ‘Living On A Thin Line’ and more.

Disc 2 is a very special release featuring never-before-heard recordings, discovered in the Konk archive, from the band’s euphoric, historic Royal Albert Hall show from July 11th 1993, including formidable renditions of ‘You Really Got Me’, ‘Till The End of the Day’, and ‘Sunny Afternoon’ among many others. A reminder of the band’s exceptional, dynamic live shows, the celebrated show, which reflects all aspects of the band’s three decade career, was a welcome homecoming following a run of arena shows throughout the US, marking three decades since their first performance there. While Britpop set the musical backdrop for the UK, the gig showcased an iconic British band in an iconic British setting, reclaiming their place in history…not that their place in history has ever really been in question. “As far as performances go, it was a high point achievement of The Kinks,” Dave Davies said of the show. This set – captured from a simple desk mix – illustrates how vital the band The Kinks remained as a live act.

In a landmark acquisition for music collectors and Beatles fans alike, Rockaway Records has secured an extraordinary trio of 1968 Beatles White Album LPs, numbered 007, 008, and 009.

Valued collectively at $250,000, this set not only includes the lowest three-digit U.S. number to ever surface (“007”), but is also believed to be the lowest sequentially numbered group of White Albums ever offered for sale anywhere in the world.

According to noted Beatles experts and authors Frank Daniels and Bruce Spizer, these “three-digit” White Albums were made as a test run for the number stamper at Bert-Co in Los Angeles, where the cover slicks and inserts were printed. Low numbered White Albums from the US and UK are extremely collectable, with numbers less than 100 selling for tens of thousands of dollars each. Numbers less than 10 are virtually unheard of, with an extreme example being Ringo Starr’s personal UK mono pressing “No. 0000001”, which sold in 2015 for almost $800,000.

Rico Nasty Unleashes Explosive New Album ‘LETHAL’

Today, Rico Nasty has released her highly anticipated album LETHAL, out now. Alongside the release, she’s shared a video for “CRASH,” a buoyant and radiant album highlight that pits a driving rhythm section against cascading vocal hooks.

On the release, Rico shares “It feels so good to be releasing LETHAL finally. I started working on this album well over a year ago and so much has changed for me since then. All things I’m proud of. I’ve been in singing lessons, voice therapy, acting lessons, dancing lessons, parent teacher conferences, on planes, on stages (though more to come there ?) on set FILMING A TV SHOW… all in the midst of creating and releasing an album I’m really proud of. It’s one that showcases all sides of myself, sides the fans may not have seen yet. And somehow it still feels like my most cohesive (and authentic) body of work to date. I hope you guys love it. I know I do ?”

Always the rap world’s biggest rock star, Rico Nasty is known for her own particular brand of rage-rap and for her outrageous on-stage, online, volume-up persona. But as she grew up, she started to feel trapped by the character she created. LETHAL is a reckoning of who Rico is at 27 with the trap-pop teen persona she created more than a decade ago. Executive produced by GRAMMY nominated producer Imad Royal, the album still features all the hallmarks of a Rico Nasty record – female rage, heavy guitars, humor – but there are also notes of femininity, introspection and a more complex framing of all the angles of Rico – the performer, the mother, the adult. The album is preceded by lead single “TEETHSUCKER (YEA3X)”- a headturning statement of intent that Billboard praised, writing “Rico Nasty has always felt a bit ahead of the times, and this could be the moment the mainstream finally syncs up with her.” Rico followed the track with the sticky, hook-laced trap-pop of “ON THE LOW” and the more recent, playfully sophisticated combination of “BUTTERFLY KISSES” & “CAN’T WIN EM ALL.”

From the moment she arrived, Rico Nasty stood out. Since her breakthrough as a teenager from PG County, Maryland with her own signature blend of bubbly melodies, rage raps, and skull-rattling beats, the artist born Maria Kelly has been an iconoclastic presence in the rap game. She’s been drawn from the jump to the juxtaposition of hard and soft, countering her sweet-and-sour Sugar Trap sound with the kind of vocal cord-shredding mosh-rap you hear everywhere today. Back then, label executives called her weird for songs like 2018’s paradigm-shifting “Smack A Bitch,” which kicked open the doors to a dominant new era of “rapper as rockstar.” At a time when female rappers dressed like WWE wrestlers, Rico was serving Sex Pistols meets Rainbow Brite. But for Rico, the aesthetic wasn’t a costume or a phase. It’s one thing to dress like a rockstar — to be a rockstar is another.

Scan your favorite new rap playlist and you’ll hear a generation of up-and-coming artists inspired by Rico’s balance of high-femme trap-pop and nu-metal rage rap. But around the time of her last record, 2022’s Las Ruinas, the innovator felt trapped: “I was caught in the space of wanting to be understood by the masses, but also recognizing that maybe I’m not supposed to be.” She’d started to feel pigeonholed by her own outré persona, which hadn’t changed much since she’d stepped into the role of Rico Nasty as a teen. “I felt like I was living in character,” the 27-year old admits today. “And when I first started, that was the whole idea of it — but that gets exhausting.” Backstage at last year’s headlining tour, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror dressed as a teenage raver. “No shade, but dude, you’re 26,” she recalls thinking. “When are you going to grow up?”

So began Rico Nasty’s year of reckoning, which began as a conscious free-fall. “I just completely let life take me: letting myself indulge in things that made me excited, living real life experiences,” she says. She cleared her closet of the things that made her feel stuck at age 19, ditching the Demonia boots for grown-and-sexy heels. She dove deep into books, deleted social media from her phone, and started taking therapy seriously. For years, she’d withstood label pressure to give her songs more pop appeal or hop on passing trends. Now, working on the songs that would become LETHAL, Rico felt like she had back in the Sugar Trap days, before she’d known how bittersweet the industry could be. In short, she says: “I reconnected to myself.”

Meanwhile she’d parted ways with her entire management team, flying solo until an opportunity to perform with Paramore in summer 2023 introduced her to her new team. Rico had been signed to Atlantic Records since 2018, but dreamed of being “somewhere a little bit more edgy, where I had more space to grow and be whoever I felt like being.” When her new team mentioned Fueled By Ramen, the alternative label who launched bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco into the mainstream, Rico panicked that she’d be misunderstood: “I’m a rapper, and I want to be remembered as a rapper.” Instead, the label instructed Rico to stay true to no one but herself.

Continuing their meteoric return, LINKIN PARK present the Deluxe Edition of their acclaimed album FROM ZERO, out now.

The band notably extended and expanded the original chart-topping record with three brand new tracks, including the latest “Let You Fade.” Capping off this body of work, the cathartic closer doubles as an emotional highpoint boosted by the interplay between Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong over the ebb-and-flow of the song’s heavy intro and hushed bridge. Once again, it showcases LINKIN PARK’s innate grasp of dynamics, thriving in the midst of sonic extremes with grace, tension, and release.

“Up From The Bottom” initially kickstarted this Deluxe chapter. Soaring into the Top 5 at both Alternative and Rock Radio, it has gathered 42 million Spotify streams and 22 million YouTube views on the music video. Watch HERE. Earning acclaim, Revolver applauded, “It taps into the propulsive, pop-punk-ish and mid-tempo spirit of last year’s FROM ZERO single “The Emptiness Machine,” and likewise features piano embellishment and a bridge sporting turntables, 808 beats and more,” and NME hailed it as “ferocious” and “explosive.’

Following unforgettable shows everywhere from Mexico to Tokyo, Jakarta, and beyond, the From Zero World Tour—produced by Live Nation—is currently underway in the U.S. Next up, LINKIN PARK will headline and ignite the UEFA Champions League final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi and UC3 on May 31st at the Munich Football Arena. From there, the tour continues with sellout dates at Wembley Stadium in London, Stade de France in Paris, and Boston’s TD Garden where a second date has been added for July 31 due to overwhelming demand. This massive global jaunt carries them through to the end of the year, concluding on November 11 in Brasilia, Brazil. Special guests Spiritbox, AFI, Architects, grandson, Jean Dawson, JPEGMAFIA, and PVRIS will join on select dates. The shows continue to receive acclaim. City Beat Cincinnati chronicled the band’s headline set in front of 100,000 fans at the sold-out Sonic Temple in Columbus, OH. Of the latter, Substream Magazine put it best, “The fans’ reaction to the new lineup and return was more than just acceptable. They loved it! It was as if the band didn’t skip a beat. Although Chester is missed, the fans seemed to embrace Emily Armstrong and some feel this may have been the best performance of the entire festival.” The News & Observer praised the Raleigh show, writing, “Armstrong used her voice and dynamic stage presence, including her growling, brain-piercing screams, not to replace Bennington, but to incorporate herself into the band’s driving force as a whole.” 

FROM ZERO, winner of this year’s “Rock Album of the Year” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, has churned out successive hits since its 2024 debut. “The Emptiness Machine” surged as “the biggest rock song of 2024,” spending 15 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay Chart. Their next anthem “Heavy Is The Crown” followed in its footsteps at #1 on the respective chart. FROM ZERO impressively bowed at #1 on charts in 14 countries. Stateside, it opened at #2 on the Billboard 200 and at #1 across six Billboard charts: Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Vinyl Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales. Aya Nakamura Drops “Baddies” With Joé Dwèt Filé After Olympic Triumph

Fresh off her “International Impact of the Year” prize at Les Flammes Awards, handed out by Paris 2024 Olympics artistic director Thomas Jolly, French pop sensation Aya Nakamura unveils her latest track, “Baddies,” featuring Haitian kompa star Joé Dwèt Filé.

Nakamura, France’s biggest pop star, follows the recent Diamond certification of her Ayra Starr collaboration “Hypé” in France and her recent Billboard cover story with this new song “Baddies,” with her first collaboration with Joé Dwèt Filé – the later recently performed during Burna Boy’s Stade de France Paris show for their joint hit single 4 Kampé II – to deliver a vibrant Caribbean chemistry.

The award was no surprise given her 2024 victory lap, that started as “Female Artist of the Year” win at France Music Awards, followed by her opening performance for Vogue World in June along Bad Bunny, wearing for that occasion a Jean-Paul Gaultier customed dress.

A month later during the Olympics opening Ceremony in front of an estimate +1Billion viewers globally, she would storm out from l’Academie Française to cross Le Pont des Arts tojoin the Republican Guard to perform her mega-hits Djadja and Pookie from her +1.5M selling album NAKAMURA – that is still to date the most streamed French-language of all time according to Billboard. Her Olympic performance also set a new record as the most watched event in France TV history with over +36 Million viewers.

Anyma Unveils ‘The End Of Genesys’ Album With Summer Tour, Ibiza Residency

Today, DJ, producer, and multidisciplinary artist, Anyma, announces his highly anticipated album, The End Of Genesys, which is set for release on May 30th. The End Of Genesys completes the score of the Genesys trilogy and follows his previous albums Genesys and Genesys II. Anyma originally announced the album in the closing moments of his final show during his recent residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. The album features recent singles “Work (Feat. Yeat),”  “Neverland (From Japan)”, “Angel In The Dark,” “Hypnotized” Featuring Ellie Goulding, which hit #1 at US Dance Radio and Billboard Dance/Mix Show, and “Voices In My Head.”  It will also include more new music that Anyma premiered live throughout his Sphere residency like collaborations with Grimes, 070 Shake, Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun and more.  In addition, Anyma’s new track “In My Mind” will be exclusively available on Beatport from May 23rd until release day, May 30th, as part of his Artist of the Month spotlight on Beatport. Anyma is the American-born Italian electronic music and multidisciplinary artist Matteo Milleri.
