Atlantic Celebrates 75th Anniversary With Year-Long Vinyl Campaign, Remixes, And Limited-Edition Merchandise Capsule
As part of Atlantic Records’ 75th Anniversary celebration, the label – in conjunction with Rhino Entertainment – has launched an extensive year-long vinyl series featuring 90 releases spanning the entire history of the company, from its earliest days until the present. The series encompasses iconic and acclaimed albums across virtually every popular musical genre, including special editions and many that have never been on vinyl. The unprecedented series has been curated by Atlantic Records Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman, who – in addition to his role as the label’s chief executive – is one of the world’s foremost audiophiles, with a personal vinyl collection now numbering over two million LPs.
Each month’s Atlantic 75 collection reflects the label’s diverse and rich history. With most titles pressed in crystal clear vinyl, releases included span groundbreaking works that underline the genre-defiant greatness of the label’s release over the years. In addition, Atlantic has partnered with noted audiophile label Acoustic Sounds for a multi-year-long slate of 180-Gram, 45RPM black vinyl, and SACD versions of classic Atlantic albums. The label has also partnered with beloved vinyl subscription service VMP (Vinyl Me, Please) for their first ever label collection for Record of the Month, which will be available for VMP members on Thursday, October 19, shipping early November. As part of the partnership, VMP will be releasing Ray Charles – Ray Charles In Person in the Essentials Track, The Mar-Keys / Booker T. & The M.G.’s – Back to Back in the Classics Track, Lupe Fiasco – Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor in the Hip-Hop Track, John Prine – Sweet Revenge in the Country Track, and Stone Temple Pilots – Nº 4 in the Rock Track.
“Our 75th anniversary has given us an incredible opportunity to revisit the amazing range and depth of the music that Atlantic has released across the decades,” said Craig Kallman. “These 90 albums are not only an extraordinary musical journey through the years, but a cultural one as well, reflecting a series of seismic social shifts. As an admitted vinyl junkie, I’m honored and thrilled to join with our colleagues at Rhino, our long-time friends at Acoustic Sounds, and the great folks at VMP to give all this brilliant music the royal LP treatment. It’s been a true labor of love, and the perfect celebration of this landmark anniversary.”
Kirk Pengilly of INXS shares his experience working with Atlantic Records: “In 1982, we signed to a newly revitalized ATCO label for North America under the Atlantic umbrella. They, along with our manager Chris Murphy, were trailblazers in a pretty stock standard record industry. They did things differently and thought outside the square with innovative, creative ideas. ATCO was our first signing outside of Australia and immediately showed their care and passion for us as an act. We were a ‘Band of Brothers’ and ATCO became part of our family. Exciting times for a bunch of guys out of Australia.”
As part of the ongoing series, Atlantic is pleased to announce the forthcoming releases of Led Zeppelin’s paradigm-shifting untitled fourth album, commonly referred to as Led Zeppelin IV, and Coldplay’s multi-platinum selling seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams. Led Zeppelin IV, produced by Jimmy Page, will be pressed on crystal-clear, 180g vinyl. The new edition of A Head Full of Dreams is pressed on 140g colored re-cycled vinyl and features a bonus track, “Something Just Like This,” by the Chainsmokers and Coldplay. The collection will also welcome albums from Jason Mraz, Christina Perri, Grouplove as well as seasonal releases from Booker T. and the MG’s and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. See below for the full list of releases dates.
Below is the complete list of the Atlantic 75 titles scheduled for the year, including already available titles. Titles from the collection are available to order at http://store.atlanticrecords.com. Fans visiting the store can also purchase limited-edition tees, hoodies, and color-changing magic candles featuring vintage Atlantic logo designs, as well as an exclusive t-shirt featuring Roberta Flack, which was released for the campaign in honor of the coinciding 50th anniversary of Killing Me Softly.
For the fans who prefer to listen to their music on the go, Atlantic has released a collection of remixes which demonstrates the influence that Atlantic’s iconic artists have had on musicians regardless of genre. Swiss-South African It-girl DJ Nora En Pure adds a new spin to Donna Lewis’ record-breaking “I Love You Always Forever.” DJ Spinna delivers a funky groove to Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly,” while producer Ben Lieband submits his own version of the iconic torch song. Italian DJ Luca Olivotto owns his fresh take on YES’ “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” which topped the Beatport House Charts earlier this spring. New Jersey enters the house with DJ Sliink’s flip of Gym Class Heroes’ “Cupid’s Chokehold.” Nomak revives a deep cut from Brandy with his take on “What About Us.” Listen to all the new Atlantic 75 remixes HERE.

New Order Announce Substance 1987 Collection For 2023
Today (13th September) New Order are delighted to announce a remastered set of formats of Substance 1987, released via Warner on 10th November. The 2023 collection will be available in 2LP, 2CD, 4CD deluxe edition, 2LP coloured vinyl and 2 cassettes. Also being made available are reissues of the 12” singles True Faith, True Faith Remix and Blue Monday 88.
Originally released via the legendary Factory Records, Substance compiled all of the band’s singles to that point in their 12” versions with many of their respective B-sides (on the CD and cassette versions), and specially new recorded versions of ‘Temptation’ and ‘Confusion’. The album also included the biggest selling 12” single of all time, Blue Monday, alongside other classic singles The Perfect Kiss, Bizarre Love Triangle and the band’s debut single release Ceremony.
The album is the band’s biggest selling to date, with over one million copies sold, going platinum in the US with a Top 5 hit in True Faith which was accompanied by the seminal video, directed by French choreographer Philippe Decouflé.
This new remastered collection includes double vinyl album, double CD with b-sides, double cassette and an expanded 4CD collection. The 4CD version includes the original 2CD set remastered with two additional CDs. CD3 expands the collection with alternate versions and extra b-sides. CD4 features an unreleased concert, Live from Irvine Meadows, California, 12th September 1987, where the band uniquely played the entire album in sequence.
Substance 1987 remaster will also be available on 2LP – blue/red colour vinyl (retail exclusive) and double cassette – (New Order Store exclusive).
From the ashes of legendary band Joy Division, New Order triumphed over tragedy to emerge as one of the most influential and acclaimed bands of all time.
After Ian Curtis tragically took his own life, Bernard Sumner (keyboardist and guitarist), Peter Hook (bassist) and Stephen Morris (drummer) re-formed the same year as New Order, with the addition of Gillian Gilbert (keyboardist and guitarist) and Sumner taking over as vocalist.
Their debut Movement (1981) was over shadowed by the sound of Joy Division; going forward the band combined post-punk with influences from New York’s club scene, the result was Power, Corruption & Lies (1983). 1983 also saw the release of “Blue Monday” which became the best-selling 12-inch single of all time, selling over 3 million copies worldwide.
New Order then released the albums Low-Life (1985), Brotherhood (1986), Substance (1987) and Technique (1989). Between several brief hiatuses and line-up alterations, Republic (1993), Get Ready (2001) and Waiting for the Sirens’ Call (2005) came out, before Peter Hook’s departure in 2007.
Phil Cunningham joined the band in 2001, followed by Tom Chapman as bass player in 2011.
The band released their critically acclaimed tenth studio album Music Complete in 2015 featuring guest vocals from Iggy Pop, Brandon Flowers and Elly Jackson of La Roux.
Never resting on their legacy, New Order continue to perform live around the world, playing some of the biggest shows of their career to date, headlining Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s O2 in 2021 and a US arena tour with the Pet Shop Boys in Autumn 2022.

Declan McKenna Announces Third Studio Album, What Happened To The Beach? Out February 9th
Today, Declan McKenna announces that he will release What Happened To The Beach? on February 9th on his own label, Tomplicated Records. “In the past few years there has been a bit of weight behind making music,” he says. “Opening up and embracing the simple things in life has helped me make something that is more authentically me than ever before.” What Happened To The Beach? is available to pre-order on all format here. Declan McKenna will kick off leg three of his 56-date US tour on September 27th in New Haven, CT. You can pre-save here.
McKenna landed in California last year to work with producer Gianluca Buccellati, whose previous projects include Arlo Parks and Lana Del Rey. On his third studio album, McKenna taught and trusted himself to take his time and let the listener soak in the ambience. The result, What Happened To The Beach?, is an album that revels in both space and atmosphere. “The songs sound a lot like the music I listen to,” McKenna says about the new tunes, citing St Vincent (“She takes the guitar to a really cool place. Everything can be manipulated”) and Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s hypnotic and spacey energy as influences.
McKenna also debuts his new single “Nothing Works”, which follows McKenna’s latest song “Sympathy.” “‘Nothing Works’ came out of the frustration of feeling boxed in and tied to expectation,” McKenna reveals. “It is a euphoric tune, at its core it’s a celebration of being true to yourself. In the track, I’m kind of mocking the idea that I’d just take advice that neglects my own intuition, and I often feel like nothing works when you’re trying to match norms or expectations, because you can never please everyone, but if you trust your gut and your own motivations in any aspect of life, the parameters for feeling good in yourself are much simpler and more powerful.”
What Happened To The Beach? is an album full of tone and colour. There is an undeniably buoyant energy across the album, at once best exemplified by “Nothing Works” frustrations of record label interference and criticism. Musically, you feel the freedom in the sound of a songwriter enjoying himself. “I wanted to open up and not worry about things so much,” McKenna says, “I was putting a lot of pressure on myself in the past when I just needed to drop the intensity a bit and have some fun.”
McKenna is in his early 20s and is pproaching a new era in his journey as a songwriter. He is aware that writing a more personal album, particularly one that focuses on joy over disaster, might suggest a line draw in the sand between Declan and Declan 2.0. “If every song features a lyrical statement then it loses some of its impact, too. I haven’t let go of that aspect of myself but I don’t want to live out that style forever.”
Recently McKenna, wrapped up his seond leg of his US tour and shared his first single from this record, “Sympathy” which Paste says “carries a similarly boisterous indie-pop melody as his previous work and has chiming ogans, jumpy piano chords and an overall shimmer to it.” Following an early evening slot on the main stage of the Reading and Leeds Festival behind Billie Eilish, Declan McKenna is redy for the next step. McKenna has always been a smart, literate songwriter. With What Happened To The Beach? he’s still all those things – he’s just down for a good time.

Olivia Rodrigo Announces 2024 Guts World Tour
Today, multi-platinum, three-time Grammy award-winning artist Olivia Rodrigo announced her highly anticipated GUTS world tour in support of her second studio album, GUTS, which was released September 8 via Geffen Records to critical acclaim. Produced by Live Nation, the massive global 2024 tour kicks off its 57-date run on Friday, February 23 in Palm Springs, CA at Acrisure Arena, with stops across North America and Europe, including Miami, Toronto, New York, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and many more before wrapping up with back-to-back shows on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The Breeders, PinkPantheress, Chappell Roan, and Remi Wolf will join on select dates across the tour.
Following the incredible success of her 2022 debut tour The SOUR Tour, the GUTS world tour will be Olivia’s first arena tour, taking her to iconic venues around the world including Madison Square Garden, Kia Forum, Sportpaleis, The O2 and more. One of the most highly awaited albums of the year, GUTS arrived as the follow-up to Rodrigo’s 4x Platinum 2021 full-length debut SOUR and features her No. 1 hit “vampire” and the new focus track “get him back!” Like “vampire,” GUTS’ second single “bad idea, right?” was named a Best New Track by Pitchfork, who hailed the latter as “one of the best pop performances of the year.” Released last month alongside its B-movie-inspired video, “bad idea right?” also drew raves from the likes of Rolling Stone (who called it a “sugary headbanger”) and the New York Times (who praised the track as a “bright, kaleidoscopic head-rush of a pop song…” in its weekly column “The Playlist”).

Chin Injeti Takes You on a Sentimental Journey with ‘For Better Or For Worse’ ft. Shad K
Chin Injeti adds a nostalgic offering to his 2023 repertoire with this new song “For Better Or For Worse” featuring Shad K aka YBTB. They say sentimentality is a hell of a drug, and in this new release, it keeps getting better with every listen.
The Grammy and JUNO Award album-winning contributor assembled an anthem that bodes well for adults learning to live with growth. Injeti admits his motivation for the song is “Growing up and accepting the things that go with it,” and continues, “the fact that we changed, and we’re ok with it.”
“For Better Or Worse” harnesses acoustic components from start to finish that sound familiar to the ear. Together with the almost faint repetitive thudding hiding behind the acoustics. It all works and complements Injeti’s style of singing throughout the song. What came as a surprise was the electronic element of the song, as it didn’t overpower the whole musical production.
Chin Injeti is truly a leader and a dynamo in his own right with this relatable contribution that will touch those who fall into the 20s-30s age groups. “Life never works out the way you planned,” Injeti shares, “and you are not the same person you were when you were in your 20s or 30s.” The mastery in the approach to balancing the lyrics and instrumentals is distinctive and makes one wonder what the Chin and Shad together can’t ace.
Apart from the unique musical arrangement and production, it’s the meaning behind the words that will win over the listener. “For Better Or For Worse” embraces life’s imperfections and lessons. And in return, accepting that “we’re okay with who we are as grown-ups.”
Injeti sings, “Now that I’m safely in my 40s/Guess I should process some of my 20s/
Some of the grief and the sh*t”/Like when I realized I’m not
The human being that I thought”
In “For Better Or For Worse” Chin has crafted a timeless mantra that sits well alongside his prior releases “Expensive” and “Something Love Would Do”.
“The song came from two people that are in a place in their lives, where they are completely comfortable with the life they lead,” he says.
“Looking back at the song now it is the perfect message for who we are and for probably who we’re going to be moving forward.”
“For Or Better Or Worse” is available now.
