Chicago Greatest Christmas Hits From All Three Of The Legendary Band’s Christmas Albums Arrives November 3

hicago is lighting up the holidays with a new collection that combines songs from all three of its beloved Christmas albums. The legendary “rock band with horns” will even add a few of those holiday classics to its live shows during its current tour.

CHICAGO GREATEST CHRISTMAS HITS arrives November 3 on CD, red vinyl, and digitally. Pre-order HERE. A green-vinyl version will also be available exclusively at indie retailers.

The festive compilation shines a spotlight on Chicago’s unmistakable sound across 13 yuletide favorites, including “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow,” “All Over The World,” “Wonderful Christmas Time” (featuring Dolly Parton), and “Winter Wonderland.” The tracks originally appeared on Chicago XXV: The Christmas Album (1998), What’s It Gonna Be, Santa?(2003), Chicago XXXIII: O Christmas Three (2011), and Chicago XXXVII: Chicago Christmas (2019). Earlier this year, Chicago XXV: The Christmas Album and What’s It Gonna Be, Santa? were both certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Rhino/Warner Music Group recently acquired O Christmas Three (originally released on Chicago’s own label) and are reissuing it on CD. This brings all three of the band’s holiday albums together in one place, ensuring Chicago Greatest Christmas Hits is a truly comprehensive collection.

In addition, all of Chicago’s holiday albums will be bundled together for Chicago Christmas Complete, a 3-CD set arriving on November 3 and available only from WMG. As an added treat, this collection comes with an exclusive Chicago Christmas ornament. The music from all three albums also has been compiled into a single playlist that’s available to stream on digital platforms.

Tickets for Chicago’s current U.S. tour are on sale now (see dates below). The tour will finish in Atlantic City, NJ, with two special shows on November 17 and 18, dubbed “Chicago & Friends.” These concerts will be filmed for “Decades Rock Live,” an award-winning concert television show that pairs legendary bands with today’s hottest artists.

At both shows, Chicago will perform its greatest hits with several special guests, including guitar virtuoso Steve Vai (paying tribute to Chicago’s original guitarist Terry Kath), Robin Thicke, Chris Daughtry, pedal steel virtuoso Robert Randolph, guitarist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Judith Hill, and the world-renowned a cappella quintet, VoicePlay. The performances will be filmed on a custom-built LED stage in 4K and broadcast in late December. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Chicago holds a prestigious place as one of the longest-running and best-selling groups of all time. It’s the first American band to chart albums in Billboard’s Pop Top 40 in six consecutive decades, ranking as the highest charting American band in Billboard’s Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists, and the #4 band on Billboard’s All-Time Top Bands and Duos list. The group’s extensive accomplishments include: two Grammy Awards® and a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy, multiple American Music Awards, 11 Number One singles, five consecutive Number One albums, and sales of over 100 million records, with 47 albums earning gold and platinum certification. Chicago was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, and its debut album, Chicago Transit Authority, was inducted into the Grammy® Hall Of Fame in 2014. Neil Young 50th Anniversary Release Of ‘Time Fades Away’ Set For November 3 Release

 It is impossible to pinpoint when a new album will become a classic. And while sometimes there are signals, often such a designation comes as a complete surprise. When Neil Young’s 1973 live album release TIME FADES AWAY arrived, it was obviously a left-field surprise. It was recorded with the Stray Gators, and featured previously unreleased songs. At a time when the Young’s popularity was surging following his highly successful studio album HARVEST, the new live album raised questions and even Young responded at the time, “TIME FADES AWAY was the worst record I ever made, but as a door of what was happening to me it was a great record.” In so many ways, this music is the perfect window on the unpredictable trajectory of one of rock & roll’s true pioneers. TIME FADES AWAY 50 will be released on limited edition clear vinyl only this November 3, via Reprise Records. This definitive 9 song iteration of the album contains a bonus track of “Last Trip To Tulsa,” which originally appeared on Archives Vol.2 Box set.  This version of the song appears on vinyl only for the first time ever.  TIME FADES AWAY 50 will be available at the Greedy Hand Store at Neil Young Archives (NYA) and music retailers everywhere.  All Greedy Hand Store purchases come with free hi-res digital audio downloads from the Xstream Store  at NYA.

The 50th anniversary release of TIME FADES AWAY is a true celebration of an era in time that marked music forever. In 1973 Young was writing songs that have lasted to this day, and taking bold changes with the way he presented them in-person. It’s a trademark of his that still continues. And with the Stray Gators performing with him — Jack Nitzsche (keyboards); Ben Keith (pedal steel guitar); Kenny Buttrey (drums), to be replaced by Johnny Barbata; and bassist Tim Drummond. David Crosby and Graham Nash also joined on harmony vocals and acoustic guitar. The real magic of this recording has always been how it was such an adventurous risk to take at a time when so much of the contemporary music then was driven by perfection. Recorded directly from the soundboard to 16-track tape and mixed simultaneously to LP cutting, in some ways Young and the band were traveling new sonic roads. TIME FADES AWAY was recorded directly after the mega-success of Young’s album HARVEST, and it feels like the blueprint of the twists and turns of a career where the blaster rockets are kicking.

And it wouldn’t be a Neil Young release unless a touch of serpentine is added to the adventure. Because of various reasons, TIME FADES AWAY was omitted from Young’s catalogue and not released on Compact Disc until 2017. A touch of mystery still follows the album, having been part of the Official Release Series Discs 5-8 Vinyl Box Set collection from Record Store Day in 2014. The live recordings from this tour have become part of a sense of adventure that runs through the recording career of someone who often takes the less traveled road. It comes at a time when Neil Young is exploring his own career with all the excitement he has always brought to his music.

The TikTok Accelerator for Indigenous Creators, presented by the National Screen Institute, is returning for a third year opening 40 spots for Indigenous participants in 2023 – applications are open now and, new this year, the program will be expanded to Indigenous-owned small businesses as well!

The impact of Indigenous creators on the #TikTokCommunity has been profound, generating billions of views on the platform through hashtags like #IndigenousTikTok (3.5Billion), #IndigenousOwnedBusiness (4.9Million) and #IndigenousMade (15.1Million) through which creators share their stories, knowledge and culture with a global community. To date, the program has successfully supported the growth and development of Indigenous creators like model @willow.allen), Powwow dancer and instructor Deanne Hupfield (@deannehupfield), actress Julia Ulayok Davis (@juliaulayok – who is currently playing Ariel in Winnipeg’s Rainbow Stage adaptation of the film) and artist/designer Christina King (@taalrumiq), to name a few. Their participation in the program provided an opportunity for us to amplify their stories and generate impact-focused coverage.

In 2014, British actor Matt Berry delivered a side-splitting recitation of a scathing letter penned by cartoonist and record collector Robert Crumb. This letter was addressed to Swedish jazz saxophonist Mats Gustafsson, who had sent Crumb a CD for review. In a bombastic fashion, Crumb minced no words in expressing his disdain for Gustafsson’s playing. He even went so far as to inscribe ‘torturing the saxophone’ in silver ink on the CD cover. In response to this rather unconventional critique, Gustafsson humorously titled his next album ‘Torturing the Saxophone,’ proudly immortalizing Crumb’s words within the album’s liner notes.”

Guns N’ Roses have revealed four new upcoming dates across Canada and the United States, including stops in Edmonton, Salt Lake City, Denver and Nampa, ID. Tickets will be available starting with the Nightrain presale beginning on September 18th. Due to incredible fan demand, multi-platinum, three-time Grammy award-winning artist Olivia Rodrigo announced 18 new dates on her highly anticipated 2024 GUTS world tour. Produced by Live Nation, the colossal global tour will now include third and fourth shows in New York, London and Los Angeles, as well as second shows in Chicago, Montreal, Dublin, Amsterdam, Paris, San Francisco and more, bringing the tour to 75 dates. The tour kicks off on Friday, February 23 in Palm Springs, CA at Acrisure Arena, with stops across North America and Europe in Miami, Toronto, New York, London, Manchester, Glasgow and more before wrapping up with four massive shows in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum in August 2024. The Breeders, PinkPantheress, Chappell Roan, and Remi Wolf will join on select dates across the tour.

Following the incredible success of her 2022 debut tour The SOUR Tour, the GUTS world tour will be Olivia’s first arena tour, taking her to iconic venues around the world including Madison Square Garden, Kia Forum, Sportpaleis, The O2 and more.

One of the most highly awaited albums of the year, GUTS arrived September 8 via Geffen Records as the follow-up to Rodrigo’s 4x Platinum 2021 full-length debut SOUR. The album features her No. 1 hit “vampire” and the new focus track “get him back!” The New York Times hailed “get him back” as a “playful, infectious and dryly hilarious singalong” while The Atlantic called it “fantastic.” On September 12, Rodrigo released the music video for the track, shot on iPhone 15 Pro in collaboration with Apple. Stability AI, the world’s leading open-source artificial intelligence company, together with music legend Peter Gabriel, announces the debut of its Stability AI DiffuseTogether Challenge. This groundbreaking initiative combines the power of generative AI imaging with the talents of a Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famer, and is the first in a series of AI animation challenges that will feature other popular musicians from different genres.

Peter Gabriel started his solo work in 1975 after leaving his old school group Genesis. He has released eleven studio albums, including film soundtracks for Alan Parker’s ‘Birdy’, Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Last Temptation of Christ’ and Philip Noyce’s ‘Rabbit Proof Fence’ as well as numerous live albums. His wider musical career has included multiple Grammy Awards, the world-renowned Real World Studios, the formation of the Real World Records label, and in 1980 the creation of WOMAD, the festival that has launched the careers of many artists from around the world and last year celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Peter Gabriel co-founded the human rights organization WITNESS (Witness.org) in 1992, the organization that pioneers the use of cameras and technology in human rights campaigning, and in 2007, alongside Sir Richard Branson, he founded The Elders (theelders.org) which was launched by Nelson Mandela.  In 2006, Peter Gabriel was awarded the prestigious Man of Peace title by The Nobel Peace Laureates and in 2008 was also included in the Time 100 list. He has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. He remains engaged in a wide variety of tech-based businesses throughout a variety of creative industries and is currently releasing new music each full moon and will be on tour during 2023.

Lil Wayne Releases ‘Tha Carter III’ Deluxe Edition Vinyl Package In Celebration Of 15th Anniversary

5x GRAMMY Award-winning music mogul Lil Wayne announces the release of Tha Carter III Deluxe Edition vinyl package on 2LP and 3LP, celebrating the 15th anniversary of his 8x platinum, 3x GRAMMY Award-winning opus.

The special edition 3LP package comes with a bonus LP of music, including the entirety of the infamous The Leak EP on vinyl for the first time. The package also includes artwork from the New Orleans artist Jay McKay (Art By Jay).

The announcement comes in the midst of Lil Wayne’s critically acclaimed, sold-out Welcome to Tha Carter Tour. Wayne kicked off 2023 by receiving the prestigious Global Impact Award at The Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective Pre-GRAMMY event. He released the hard-hitting track “Kant Nobody” featuring DMX, produced by Swizz Beatz, as well as delivered explosive verses on Swizz’s Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 with the track “This Sh*t Right Here.”

Music industry icon Sir Rod Stewart has announced his next release: Wolfie’s Whisky, a blended Scotch whisky that embodies his reputation as ‘the Cockney Scotsman’ and pays tribute to his Scottish heritage and cheeky chappie image.

Designed to reflect Rod’s rock ‘n’ roll heritage with subtle nods to Americana, Wolfie’s was inspired by the legendary musician’s early hell raising days with the Faces.

“Wolfie’s is a rascal of a thing and with just a sip the whisky takes you back to the good old days. Fine-tuned and perfectly balanced, Wolfie’s is a delight both over ice and mixed into a favourite cocktail,” says Rod.

Wolfie’s Blended Scotch Whisky (40% ABV) is wonderfully balanced with flavours of warming cinnamon, fresh vanilla and baked apple. The whisky has a delicate taste of sweet peat and pears in syrup before finishing with candied citrus peels and a gentle oak spice.

With its unique blend of rock ‘n’ roll roots, Americana and Scottish heritage, Wolfie’s is bringing something new to the Scotch whisky market. Distilled on the banks of Loch Lomond by an expert team with decades of whisky-making know-how and an all-Scottish team behind the brand, Wolfie’s truly has Scotland at its heart.

Referencing the opening track from Rod’s 1991 album Vagabond Heart, the lyrics ‘Rhythm of My Heart’ are emblazoned on the base of the bottle. Rod’s recording of the song was a nod to his own Scottish heritage having adapted the melody from the traditional folk song, Loch Lomond.

Wolfie’s will be available to buy online for £35 from Monday 19 June and in the meantime fans are encouraged to sign up at www.wolfiesiscoming.com to gain access to an exclusive presale from Friday 16 June. They’ll also be in with the chance of finding one of 1,000 bottles of Wolfie’s that have been signed by Rod.

With the initial limited run of bottles marked as first releases, Wolfie’s will initially be available to buy online across the UK and in Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. It will also launch in America in July as Rod embarks on his North American tour.
