Tears For Fears Celebrate 40 Years Of ‘Songs From The Big Chair’ With Ruby Anniversary Reissues Including Transparent Red Vinyl And 3CD Deluxe Set

0

Tears For Fears’ multi-platinum-selling second album, Songs From The Big Chair, has been reissued in multiple formats and is available now, marking its 40th anniversary and celebrating its enduring impact and available here. Originally released on February 25, 1985, Songs From The Big Chair became a global sensation, topping the US charts and spawning five hit singles: “Mothers Talk,” “Shout,” “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” “Head Over Heels,” and “I Believe.” The album captured a perfect intersection of pop accessibility, sharp lyricism, guitar power, and new-wave innovation.

To mark its Ruby Anniversary, UMe has unveiled a range of special editions, including a limited-edition 2LP Transparent Red vinyl featuring the original unused artwork and tracks previously unavailable on vinyl, a 3CD deluxe set, a limited-edition 1LP Coke Bottle Clear vinyl, and a limited-edition 1LP picture disc.

The album’s influence cannot be underestimated and continues to resonate with new audiences. Everybody Wants To Rule The World has been covered by Lorde for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and featured in Guardians of the Galaxy (as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind ride at Walt Disney World), Despicable Me 4, and The Lego Batman Movie, among many others.

Formed in Bath in 1981, Tears For Fears—Roland Orzabal (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Curt Smith (vocals, bass, keyboards)—have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. In 2021, they were honored with the Outstanding Song Collection Award at the Ivor Novello Awards. Today, the band continues to perform to sold-out audiences around the globe, including their Las Vegas residency.

Chest Unleash “NUMB” Produced By Thomas Coath As Norwich Rockers Announce ‘never really here’ EP For Early 2026

0

Norwich born, London based indie-rock newcomers Chest just dropped “NUMB” and announced their ‘never really here’ EP arriving early 2026. Working with producer Thomas Coath (Sam Fender, Pale Waves), the single channels Sunny Day Real Estate and Placebo through waves of serrated guitars and pounding drums capturing the hollow quiet of dissociation. Vocalist Joel Reader delivers raw, unfiltered lines like “I had the strangest dream last night / I dreamt I tore out your insides” exploring emotional collapse and the guilt of failing someone you love through intrusive thoughts and dissociative separation from reality. The band intentionally strips away polish for something exposed and devastating.

Chest has been making serious noise since moving to London this year following summer single “MACHINE” with sold out headline shows in Norwich and London, support slots with The Lounge Society, Bilk and PleasureInc, plus appearances at Latitude and Wild Paths earning early spins from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music. Reader credits Norwich’s alternative spirit and genre diverse scene for giving them space to evolve without being boxed in, explaining he looks inward at his psyche to spotlight dark concealed corners through an uber-confident caricature lacking self-doubt. The band refuses to chase trends or tailor their work for audiences, instead creating brazenly unapologetic art standing firmly on their own ground.

LIVE DATES
13 November – Leeds, Oporto
17 November – London, Shacklewell Arms
10 January – Colchester, Three Wise Monkeys
30 January – Stowmarket, John Peel Centre
27 February – London, The Elephants Head

AEPHANEMER Unleashes ‘Utopie’ October 31 With “Contrepoint” Video Before European Tour With VALHALORE, DARK OATH And WALDGEFLÜSTER

0

French melodic death metal trio AEPHANEMER drops their fourth studio album ‘Utopie’ on October 31, 2025 via Napalm Records, celebrating with a final album single “Contrepoint” erupting with baroque influences and black metal arrangements. The Toulouse based band describes the track as their most polyphonic work on the record, designed to reveal new layers and ornaments with each listen. Following the success of ‘A Dream Of Wilderness’ (2021), the new album recalibrates their formula with heavier classical influences, blistering riffs, majestic orchestrations and Slavic folk undertones. Led by Marion Bascoul, AEPHANEMER delivers a fiercely technical and emotionally immersive experience blending melodic death metal with cinematic grandeur while exploring philosophical ideals and pushing for harmony between living beings.

The band embarks on a European tour kicking off early November with special guests VALHALORE, DARK OATH and WALDGEFLÜSTER. AEPHANEMER spent considerable time shaping melodies through polyphonic writing and building orchestral arrangements that feel both powerful and natural. ‘Utopie’ represents more than just an album, standing as an ideological reckoning and storm of sound from one of Europe’s most vital and visionary metal bands actively reinventing the melodic death metal landscape.

In the current competitive digital world, mobile apps are not merely products, but business. Appark.ai draws attention to the increase of apps, to new trends, and to possible gaps that the market has. This gives you the ability to switch strategies, create new innovations and appeal to unmet user needs.

The difference between being the one setting the trends and being left behind is early trend detection. Through the use of Appark.ai, growth teams can have an upper hand in the market place by making informed decisions and taking up the opportunities when it is still in the periphery.

The multi-platinum, GRAMMY nominated band NEEDTOBREATHE just released “Where You Call Home” via MCA, produced by GRAMMY winner Dave Cobb. Frontman Bear Rinehart explains the track explores rituals and reminders that ground us in who we really are rather than focusing on a specific place, pushing back against the idea that freedom means being untethered. The song follows their collaboration with The Red Clay Strays on “Momma Loves Me,” which Billboard praised for its strikingly powerful gospel tinged harmonies exploring forgiveness and grace. Rolling Stone premiered a mini-doc showing how the two bands created the track, highlighting their shared faith and Southern roots. Sunset Detour Fires Back At Perfection Culture With “All I Am Is Me” Blending Early 2000s Punk Energy And Unfiltered Self Acceptance

0

Danish pop-punk band Sunset Detour just dropped “All I Am Is Me,” their most explosive and defiant single yet tackling the pressure to conform in modern culture. Lead singer Thomas Kongshaug calls the track a giant middle finger to expectations, celebrating the strength found in choosing yourself when everyone demands you be someone else. The song channels early 2000s punk rawness while delivering a contemporary message about refusing to shrink yourself to fit in. Following the momentum of recent releases “Shotgun Nellie” and fan favorite “Chuck,” Sunset Detour continues evolving their sound toward tighter songwriting and bigger choruses. Produced independently by the band and mixed in the United States, “All I Am Is Me” pushes their international pop-punk direction forward as they work to bring Scandinavian alternative rock to global audiences.

The Waiting Game: 20 Artists Who Haven’t Released An Album For More Than 5 Years

Remember when your favorite artist dropped an album and you thought, “Cool, see you in a couple years”? Well, for some musicians, a couple years has turned into half a decade—or longer. Here’s a look at 20 artists and bands who’ve been keeping us in suspense, listed alphabetically because we’re organized like that.

Alice In Chains

Their last album dropped in 2018, and while guitarist Jerry Cantrell has hinted at touring and writing in 2025, the band’s future remains uncertain after drummer Sean Kinney’s health struggles.

Beck

Five years since 2019’s ‘Hyperspace,’ and Beck apparently “did absolutely nothing during COVID.” Hey, at least he’s honest about it.

Boards of Canada

The Scottish electronic duo hasn’t released anything since 2013’s ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest.’ That’s over a decade of silence from the kings of nostalgic, haunting soundscapes.

Dr. Dre

2015’s ‘Compton’ was supposed to be his grand finale. Nine years later, we’re still wondering if there’s one more left in the vault.

Faith No More

‘Sol Invictus’ came out in 2015, but with Mike Patton ghosting the band since 2022, this one might be permanently on ice.

Frank Ocean

The most elusive man in music. He teased a Coachella comeback that turned into a disaster, and we haven’t seen much since. Being a Frank Ocean fan is a test of faith at this point.

Grace Jones

Seventeen years since ‘Hurricane’ in 2008. Before that? Nineteen years. Grace operates on her own timeline, and honestly, we respect it.

Guns N’ Roses

Sure, they tour relentlessly, but their last album was 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy.’ They’ve dropped a few songs here and there, but a full album? Don’t hold your breath.

Incubus

‘8’ came out in 2017, and fans keep hearing about a new album that keeps getting delayed. The waiting game continues.

Janet Jackson

She promised ‘Black Diamond’ around 2020, scrapped the whole thing, and we’re still waiting. Her brother Randy allegedly has something to do with the holdup.

Kate Bush

Fourteen years since ’50 Words for Snow’ in 2011. She’s been busy with remasters, books, and re-releases, just no new music. Classic Kate.

Lauryn Hill

The queen of taking her time. ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ came out in 1998, and we’re still waiting for a proper follow-up over two decades later.

Madonna

Seven years between ‘Madame X’ (2019) and her upcoming 2025 album—the longest gap of her career. Even the Queen of Pop needs a break sometimes.

Massive Attack

‘Heligoland’ dropped in 2010, making it 14 years of silence. Though they recently announced something new-ish, so there’s hope on the horizon.

Radiohead

‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ is about to turn ten years old in 2026. The band is bursting with creativity, but they’re all busy with solo projects and can never seem to be free at the same time.

Rihanna

The most famous musical disappearing act of our time. ‘Anti’ came out in 2016, and despite a couple songs for movie soundtracks, Rihanna is apparently too busy building her beauty empire to worry about R9.

Sade

The band that moves at their own elegant pace. No new album since 2010’s ‘Soldier of Love,’ but that mysterious piece of foam with a question mark in their box set keeps fans hopeful.

System of a Down

November 22, 2025 marks twenty years since ‘Hypnotize.’ They’ve released exactly two songs since then. Two. In twenty years.

Tool

‘Fear Inoculum’ finally arrived in 2019 after a thirteen-year wait. Given their track record, we’ll probably see the next one sometime around 2032.

Tom Waits

Fifteen years since 2011’s ‘Bad as Me.’ One of the most prolific artists of his generation just… stopped. We miss you, Tom.
