Dizzy Reed Releases New Single “Earn It 2 Burn It” and Solo Album ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Chose Me’

0

Legendary Guns N’ Roses keyboardist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dizzy Reed has released his fiery new single “Earn It 2 Burn It,” out now via 50q Records. The track is the latest from his full-length solo album ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Chose Me,’ which is also out now on digital platforms and vinyl. A blistering blend of hard rock grit and bluesy swagger, “Earn It 2 Burn It” hits with pure attitude and authenticity. “The song is about working our asses off and never actually seeing any money at all,” Reed explains. “And starting off our lives with incomprehensible debt from the cost of our education to do something else altogether while being pummeled with information about what we should like, want and need. The music was born from my love of metal and my hero, John Lord.”

‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Chose Me’ is Reed’s second solo album, a raw and reflective ten-track project that digs into themes of perseverance, mental health, the American Dream, and the power of music to connect and heal. Written and produced by Reed, the album showcases his signature blend of grit and heart. Produced by Jason Achilles Mezilis, mixed by Evan Rodaniche, and mastered by Gentry Studer, it’s a vivid snapshot of a rock veteran who continues to evolve without losing his edge.

Balancing his storied history with Guns N’ Roses and his creative pursuits as a solo artist, Reed reaffirms his legacy as a musician who still has plenty left to say — and plenty of fire to say it with. ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Chose Me’ is a reminder that true artists don’t just play rock and roll — they live it.

Tommy Boy Music, part of Reservoir, is honoring the 30th anniversary of Coolio’s legendary hit “Gangsta’s Paradise,” out now in a newly remastered Dolby Atmos edition. Originally released in 1995 and featuring R&B singer L.V., the Grammy-winning track remains one of hip-hop’s most enduring anthems, bridging generations with its timeless storytelling, Stevie Wonder sample, and raw social insight. To mark the milestone, fans can stream four newly mixed Dolby Atmos versions of classics from Coolio’s catalog, including “Gangsta’s Paradise,” “1,2,3,4 (Sumpin’ New),” “C U When U Get There,” and “County Line.” A limited 7” vinyl featuring the original and instrumental versions of “Gangsta’s Paradise” is out now.

The celebration includes global campaigns, DJ contests, and social media challenges in partnership with Beatsource and Beatport, inviting creators to remix the track for a chance to win exclusive prizes like a Rane One MKII DJ Controller, UE Pro earphones, and Coolio vinyl collections. Takeovers are also rolling out across Music Choice, Touchtunes Jukeboxes, Spotify, and Vevo, where a new Footnotes video with producer Doug Rasheed offers insight into the song’s creation. “Combining L.V.’s harmonies on the hook with Coolio’s rap, I knew I had something special,” says Rasheed. “But I had no idea how massive of a hit it would be, and continues to be globally, after 30 years.”

Since its debut, “Gangsta’s Paradise” has topped charts in more than 15 countries, won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance, and earned 3x Platinum certification from the RIAA. The track’s music video, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and featuring scenes from Dangerous Minds, has surpassed 1.8 billion views on YouTube, while the song itself boasts over 2 billion streams on Spotify. “When Reservoir acquired Tommy Boy, our vision was to preserve and celebrate the legacies of pioneering hip-hop artists like Coolio,” adds Reservoir’s Faith Newman. “’Gangsta’s Paradise’ is not only a defining hip-hop record but a piece of cultural history that continues to inspire.”

Eagles guitarist, multi-GRAMMY Award winner, and Kennedy Center Honoree Joe Walsh has announced the lineup for VetsAid 2025, the ninth annual edition of his acclaimed veterans benefit concert. The show will take place Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the INTRUST Bank Arena in downtown Wichita, Kansas, marking a special homecoming for Walsh. The festival will feature full sets from Vince Gill, Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen, along with a special super-set from Walsh himself joined by Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and Nathaniel Rateliff, plus additional surprise guests.

“It’s been a long-term goal of mine since we began VetsAid nearly ten years ago to bring it all home to my native Wichita,” Walsh shared. “It’s where my parents were both born and are buried, where I was born, and where I will always feel a deep connection and sense of heritage and responsibility.” He added, “It is with great pride and gratitude that our traveling circus of love and community will make a stop in Wichita in 2025, and that I can share the experience with my dear friends who also happen to be some of the greatest American musicians I know.”

As always, all net proceeds from VetsAid will benefit veterans’ service organizations, with this year’s grants going exclusively to Kansas-based programs. Since its 2017 debut, VetsAid has raised over $4 million for veterans and military families through concerts featuring legends including Zac Brown Band, Don Henley, James Taylor, ZZ Top, The Black Keys, and Dave Grohl. For Walsh, a Gold Star son, the mission remains deeply personal — honoring his late father and supporting the ongoing needs of America’s veterans through music, community, and compassion.

HBO Orders History Sketch Comedy from Larry David and Higher Ground

HBO has officially ordered a new untitled half-hour sketch comedy limited series from comedy legend Larry David and the Obamas’ Higher Ground. Written by Larry David and Jeff Schaffer, the six-episode series will bring together familiar faces from ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ alongside an exciting roster of guest stars. Schaffer will also direct the series, blending his sharp comedic instincts with David’s unmistakable wit.

According to HBO, the series was inspired by President and Mrs. Obama’s idea to honor America’s 250th anniversary—until Larry David called. Barack Obama shared, “I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David.” Larry added, “Once ‘Curb’ ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party. After a violent allergic reaction to the suds, I yearned to return to my simple life as a beekeeper… Alas, one day my bees mysteriously vanished. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I return to television.”

Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President and Head of HBO & HBO Max Comedy Programming, said, “We’re thrilled that Larry is coming back to HBO, this time with Higher Ground, to give us a glimpse at our shared history as we celebrate our Semiquincentennial.” The series will be executive produced by Larry David and Jeff Schaffer, with Barack and Michelle Obama, Vinnie Malhotra, and Ethan Lewis producing for Higher Ground. The limited series promises a hilariously offbeat take on American history from comedy’s most iconic curmudgeon and one of the most respected production companies in entertainment.
