Radio Free Alice Announce New EP ‘Empty Words’ and Drop 80s-Tinged Single “Toyota Camry”

Australian new wave and post-punk band Radio Free Alice announce their new EP ‘Empty Words,’ out now, alongside the release of their electrifying single “Toyota Camry.” The 80s-inspired track, featuring shimmering guitars and radiant backing vocals, premiered globally on BBC 6 Music and arrives with a cinematic video directed by longtime creative partner Finn Robilliard. Recorded with Peter Katis (Interpol, Bloc Party, Frightened Rabbit), the song showcases the band’s sharp sense of melody and mood while embracing their distinctly emotional sound.

Vocalist Noah Learmonth shared that “Toyota Camry” was inspired by a line from author Mark Fisher: “everyone is bored but nothing is boring.” “We recorded it in Connecticut in a house that resembled the one in ‘Monster House’, a horror movie for kids about a haunted house I watched growing up,” Learmonth explains. “Around the house were scattered Polaroids of other bands Peter had recorded albums with, legendary bands, like Interpol. Constantly stumbling across these fading Polaroids in the cutlery draw or whatever in the old wooden house felt weirdly fitting for the song – the song’s about lost futures, haunted by the past.”

‘Empty Words’ also includes the title track produced by Ewan Pearson (M83, Stella Donnelly, Depeche Mode) and two unreleased songs, “Regret,” produced by Ali Chant (Dry Cleaning, Perfume Genius, Soccer Mommy), and “Chinese Restaurant,” both recorded in Bristol. Following their acclaimed EP ‘Polyester,’ the band continue their rapid rise with sold-out shows in London and NYC, a Shaky Knees Festival set in Atlanta, and upcoming appearances at Reading and Leeds. With their bold blend of post-punk intensity and new-wave warmth, Radio Free Alice are defining a thrilling new moment in alternative music.

Manhattan-born producer Charcom joins forces with rising vocalist and songwriter Luisa Wilson on his newest single “KEEP MY EYES ON YOU,” out now. The track is a moody and seductive fusion of progressive house, melodic pop, and dark techno textures, marking Charcom’s most emotionally charged and ambitious release to date.

What began as a foggy sonic experiment in Berlin evolved into a pulsing late-night soundscape shaped by the city’s club scene. When Luisa Wilson added her ethereal vocals, the track took on a haunting intimacy. “This one feels like the most intense thing I’ve put out so far,” says Charcom. “It’s dark, emotional, and kinda chaotic in the best way. The production has this constant push and pull, and Luisa’s vocals just cut through everything. Definitely the kind of track that lives somewhere between the dance floor and your head at 2 am.”

“KEEP MY EYES ON YOU” unfolds gradually, with layered synths, smoky piano chords, and hypnotic percussion giving way to distorted bass swells and cinematic tension. Drawing inspiration from artists like Eli & Fur, John Summit, and SG Lewis, Charcom’s sound thrives in emotional precision, each element serving the story. It’s the culmination of his years studying at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute and translating the chaos of real life into melodic form.

Co-written by Wetzel with Josh Serrato, Ashley Gorley, and producer Gabe, the track marks his first new music since the chart-topping ‘9 Lives’ and delivers everything fans love about Wetzel: grit, heart, and unshakable honesty.

“Surrounded” paints a vivid picture of heartbreak and reflection, its lyrics unraveling the struggle of trying to escape a memory that won’t fade:
People say I’m losing my sht / Cause I ain’t got rid of yours yet / From the brush by the sink / The champagne we won’t drink / And the ring I guess you’ll never get / There ain’t nowhere I can hide / Got my whole damn world locked down / It’s a prison in my mind / There ain’t no breaking out.*

Initially teased at a radio event earlier this year, the song quickly became a fan favorite in Wetzel’s live shows. From his home state stadium dates in Texas with Morgan Wallen to high-energy festival appearances and his Jim Bob World Tour dates with HARDY, “Surrounded” has earned explosive crowd reactions everywhere it’s played.

“The way fans have connected with ‘Surrounded’ at shows made it clear this needed to be the first new song we put out,” says Wetzel. “It’s been fun seeing the fans hyped online this week and we’re excited for everyone to finally hear the full version.”

The release follows a monumental year for Wetzel, who scored five consecutive weeks at #1 with ‘High Road’ featuring Jessie Murph and dominated “Best Of” lists from major outlets including Rolling Stone, Billboard, LA Times, Tennessean, and Holler. He capped it all with sold-out Red Rocks shows, three new RIAA certifications, and a live album from the acclaimed Damn Near Normal World Tour, which drew more than 200,000 fans worldwide.

With “Surrounded,” Koe Wetzel keeps his foot on the gas, blending country grit and rock soul into one unforgettable sound.
