Victoria Unleashes Global Club Anthem ‘KILLA’ With Pabllo Vittar and Isabella Lovestory

0

Global pop innovator Victoria has dropped her latest single, ‘KILLA’, a fiery collaboration with Brazilian superstar Pabllo Vittar and Honduran avant-pop sensation Isabella Lovestory. Out now via Arista Records, the track blends baile funk, reggaeton, and futuristic electronic production into a genre-bending statement of empowerment, seduction, and sonic rebellion.

From the first words — “I’m a killa, killa, killa” — Isabella Lovestory’s sugar-sweet vocals lure listeners into a rush of pulsing percussion and throbbing bass. The sound is alive, bold, and unstoppable, with sweaty synths and primal beats colliding in a feverish mix of rhythm and danger. It’s an anthem designed for the dancefloor, dripping with confidence and attitude.

At the heart of ‘KILLA’ is Victoria, whose boundary-pushing style fuses funk, techno, and cutting-edge pop. Known for her work alongside Ashnikko and Tommy Genesis, she once again redefines electronic pop on her own terms — sharp, fearless, and fiercely individual.

Joining her is Pabllo Vittar, Brazil’s groundbreaking drag artist and global icon of freedom and self-expression. Vittar’s commanding vocals and magnetic presence turn ‘KILLA’ into a celebration of liberation and pride, igniting the track with irresistible heat and charisma.

Completing the trio, Isabella Lovestory injects her unmistakable blend of sensuality and surrealism, bringing a playful yet dangerous edge that perfectly mirrors the track’s duality. Together, the three artists have crafted a powerful and seductive collision of sound and identity — a declaration of strength and self-love made for the global stage.

Alkaline Trio Unveil ‘Surprise Surprise,’ the Final Travis Barker-Produced Single in Their Standalone Series

0

Chicago punk icons Alkaline Trio close out their trio of standalone singles with the release of ‘Surprise Surprise,’ available now on all digital platforms via Rise Records. The track marks the third and final song in the band’s 7-inch vinyl and digital single series produced by Travis Barker, showcasing a more subdued and emotionally raw side of the band’s ever-evolving sound.

“’Surprise Surprise’ was inspired by and written for a friend of mine who grew up poor and entrenched in gang life, only to become a Navy SEAL and eventually an astronaut,” says Matt Skiba. “It’s his story, combined with my own thoughts regarding how a sort of alchemy takes place when someone takes the experiences of a bad situation and is able to turn them into something profound and beautiful. The rough sketch of the song had only verse and chorus parts but no bridge which was written by Dan in the studio. This song was the last one of the three we did in this session with Travis Barker and was even more of a collaboration and studio creation than the previous two.”

Recorded during the same sessions as the previously released singles “Bleeding Out” and “Oblivion,” ‘Surprise Surprise’ completes a cohesive creative chapter for Alkaline Trio. The songs represent the first studio recordings to feature the band’s current lineup: Matt Skiba on vocals and guitar, Dan Andriano on bass and vocals, and Atom Willard on drums.

“Recording with Alkaline Trio was such a treat,” adds Travis Barker. “Bringing these songs to life from the demos Matt recorded was so exciting. Both Matt and Dan are incredible lyricists, two of my all-time favourites. The studio never feels like work, just a magical place to create. The process was so natural and easy, I could’ve kept going forever. Really proud of these songs me, Matt, Dan, and Atom recorded. Excited for what’s ahead for Alkaline Trio and for fans to hear these special songs we made.”

Alongside the digital release, ‘Surprise Surprise’ is also available as a limited-edition color 7-inch vinyl via Rise Records, featuring an exclusive demo version on the B-side.

The Hold Steady Celebrate 20 Years of ‘Separation Sunday’ With Deluxe Reissue and Brooklyn Bowl Residency

0

The Hold Steady are celebrating a major milestone in style. To mark the 20th anniversary of their beloved 2005 album ‘Separation Sunday’, the band will release a deluxe new edition on December 5 via their own Positive Jams label and Thirty Tigers. The expanded collection pairs the original 11-track record with nine newly remastered bonus tracks, including rare demos, outtakes, and selections from 2005’s ‘The Virgin Digital Sessions’ — all available on vinyl for the first time. Fans can look forward to both 2xLP standard black vinyl and limited edition 2xLP gold-swirl vinyl, as well as digital formats.

“‘Separation Sunday’ changed everything for The Hold Steady,” says frontman Craig Finn. “We found a new lineup, a solidified sound, and through incessant touring started building the THS community that exists today. It was a thrilling time to live through, and to revisit with this new look at the album.”

Upon its original release in May 2005, ‘Separation Sunday’ cemented The Hold Steady’s reputation as one of America’s most vital rock bands. Named by Paste as one of the “250 Greatest Albums of the 21st Century So Far,” the record topped end-of-year lists in SPIN and The Village Voice, with critic Robert Christgau calling it “literature with power chords.” The album’s fiery storytelling, vivid characters, and raw energy helped define a new generation of barroom poetry and rock ’n’ roll grit.

To further honor the anniversary, The Hold Steady will perform ‘Separation Sunday’ in full during Massive Nights 2025: 10 Years of Killer Parties! — their annual multi-night celebration at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City. Running from Wednesday, December 3, through Saturday, December 6, the four-night event will kick off with the first-ever Storytellers set, a special seated performance offering stripped-down versions of fan favorites and deep cuts.

The weekend will continue with two unique sets each night from Thursday through Saturday. Thursday, December 4, will feature a complete ‘Separation Sunday’ performance, while Friday and Saturday promise surprise full-album shows alongside fan-favorite deep dives. Tickets for Wednesday and the first two nights are limited, with Saturday’s show already sold out.

Silverwingkiller Ignite Chaos and Culture With Explosive Debut EP ‘Triad Funded’

0

Emerging from Manchester’s underground, Silverwingkiller are tearing through the UK electronic scene with a sound as fearless as it is ferocious. The duo—James Baca and Ni Yushang—are a high-voltage fusion of punk attitude and electronic experimentation, colliding world music influences with breakneck breakbeats, aggressive basslines, and vocals in both English and Chinese. “Manchester is the first place I ever felt free,” says Yushang, a freedom that pulses through every note they create.

Their new single “Jing’an Temple” channels this raw energy into something slower and hypnotic. Woven with Eastern melodic elements, deranged synths, and spoken-word vocals in Shanghainese, the track tells a true story of confrontation and misfortune that occurred during a visit to Shanghai’s Jing’an Temple. “We were both at Jing’an Temple one time to give our respect to Guan Yu, the Chinese deity of loyalty,” the duo share. “At the temple we felt we disrespected him; later that evening we found trouble in the streets and ended up in a fight that sent the both of us to hospital, we were cursed. Months later we officially formed Silverwingkiller and ended up back at Jing’an Temple, where we begged Guan Yu for his forgiveness.”

That story, and the chaos that followed, runs deep through their debut EP Triad Funded. It’s a blistering, multi-lingual exploration of human connection, violence, and survival in a fractured world. The record twists and mutates through the many forms of electronic music, landing somewhere between a club set and a riot. “Outnumbered but never outgunned,” says James — a mantra that defines Silverwingkiller’s fierce independence and unwillingness to compromise.

Their rise has been fast and furious. Within months of forming, Silverwingkiller were sharing stages with Machine Girl, Fat Dog, and The Body & Dis Fig, while supporting acts like Violent Magic Orchestra, Real Lies, and Minami Deutsch. Their live shows are known for their overwhelming energy — chaotic, cathartic, and impossible to stand still through.

Triad Funded is not just an EP. It’s a declaration — proof that electronic music can be as dangerous, human, and alive as any punk show. Silverwingkiller are not here for comfort. They’re here to detonate expectations.

The Power Station Roar Back With 40th Anniversary Reissue of Their 1985 Rock Classic

0

To mark 40 years since the formation of The Power Station and the release of their self-titled debut album, Rhino Records will celebrate with stunning 4 CD and 2 LP anniversary editions arriving January 23. The sets revisit one of the 1980s’ most electrifying supergroups, featuring members of Duran Duran and Chic alongside the incomparable Robert Palmer.

The 4 CD box comes housed in clamshell packaging with a 12-page booklet featuring a new interview with John and Andy Taylor by music journalist John Earls. Disc one features the newly remastered album, while disc two includes single remixes, raw instrumentals, and recordings from the group’s legendary Live Aid performance. Discs three and four unveil a never-before-heard live set from The Spectrum in Philadelphia on August 21, 1985, remixed by Richard Whittaker. The 2 LP edition, pressed on recycled black vinyl, includes the full remastered album plus remixes and Live Aid tracks.

“It’s been so exciting to dive back into The Power Station project after all these years,” says John Taylor. “We were an unusual crew, but we made a fantastic noise. Tony Thompson, the disco clock behind so many massive hits, turned out to be one of the greatest rock drummers of all time. Andy Taylor, my Duran Duran bandmate, was absolutely on fire. Robert Palmer was a brilliant songwriter, sonic stylist, and vocal powerhouse. It was a truly unique experience, and I’m proud of the work we created.”

Originally formed in 1984 as a side project for Duran Duran’s Andy and John Taylor, The Power Station began as an experiment that quickly caught fire. With Tony Thompson of Chic on drums, producer Bernard Edwards behind the board, and guest vocals from Robert Palmer, the band channeled glam swagger, funk rhythm, and arena-ready rock energy. Their 1985 debut album spawned hits “Some Like It Hot” and “Get It On (Bang A Gong),” climbing to #6 on the Billboard 200 and solidifying their place in pop-rock history.

Though their time together was brief, The Power Station left an enduring mark on music. Their sound bridged rock and funk, shaping the decade’s crossover style and influencing countless artists who followed. Greywind Ignite Hope and Healing With Empowering Emo Anthem “Make Believe (L.O.V.E. ME)”

0

Irish brother-sister duo Greywind are back with the kind of song that feels like a hug and a battle cry all at once. Their new single, “Make Believe (L.O.V.E. ME),” radiates pure self-love and positivity, wrapping the band’s emo energy in a chorus built to soar. The track arrives ahead of their forthcoming album, ‘Severed Heart City,’ set for release on January 16, 2026.

Vocalist Steph O’Sullivan explains, “This song is a love letter to yourself. Never let anyone else define you. When you have no self worth, if you pretend to love yourself enough, eventually you will believe it.” She adds, “Loving myself has always been the hardest thing for me to do. I’ve sometimes picked the wrong people to surround myself with and that affected my self worth and confidence. I’ve been to therapy and probably read every self help book there is and they always say words of affirmation are important, so this song does exactly that.”

Produced, engineered, and mixed by Sam Guaiana — known for his work with Neck Deep, Silverstein, and Holding Absence — ‘Severed Heart City’ captures Greywind at their most cinematic and emotionally charged. The album weaves in the DNA of classic emo influences like Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy, and My Chemical Romance, but gives them new life through the O’Sullivans’ distinct voice and vision. It’s an album that feels built for arenas, filled with big hooks, bigger emotions, and an unflinching sense of heart.

“‘Severed Heart City’ is an extended allegory for the stages of trauma, and one’s inner struggle to find resolution,” say Steph and Paul O’Sullivan. “There are many roads that lead to the heart of this broken city, but there is only one bridge out – one of acceptance and hope. Our band was created after the suicide of our uncle and since then we’ve been on an intense journey of achieving some of our biggest dreams to then having everything ripped away from us. ‘Severed Heart City’ is a place where it’s ok to be sad, depressed and feel like the whole world is against you but it’s also a place where you make sure none of those things ever make you give up on yourself or your dreams. Only you can save yourself.”

With “Make Believe (L.O.V.E. ME),” Greywind have crafted an anthem that celebrates vulnerability as strength, reminding listeners everywhere that self-love is not a destination, but a practice worth fighting for.

LØLØ Turns Vulnerability Into Power With Raw New Pop-Rock Anthem “me with no shirt on”

0

Today, pop-rock powerhouse LØLØ has debuted her new single, “me with no shirt on.” Known for her clever songwriting and bite, the artist strips things down – both lyrically and sonically – to deliver one of her most vulnerable tracks yet. Produced by Andrew Goldstein (blink-182, Tate McRae), the song lands like a punch in the gut, capturing the all-too-familiar spiral of craving validation as affection fades, and the way we cling to the small gestures that once meant everything. “me with no shirt on” is available to stream/download HERE.

I wrote ‘me with no shirt on’ about that gut wrenching feeling when you realize someone doesn’t feel the same way about you anymore. Writing this song had me spiralling, feeling desperate and embarrassed — but I think it turned out really honest. It really hurts when someone who was once obsessed with you couldn’t care less anymore. It’s very confusing and makes you question your self worth. But ladies, take it from me, a half naked selfie cannot save your relationship. (P.S. Dad, if you’re reading this… omg I’m totally kidding I’ve never done that!),” LØLØ commented.

With her latest singles, the heartfelt (yet, a little twisted) “american zombie” and tongue-in-cheek “the devil wears converse,” LØLØ continues to expand the world she introduced on her deluxe edition debut LP, ‘falling for robots and wishing I was one.’ She has carved out a lane entirely her own that has resonated with audiences worldwide – garnering 150M+ global streams and paving the way for a new generation of women in rock. Previously, LØLØ has collaborated with Simple Plan and Maggie Lindemann, shared the stage with genre staples New Found Glory, State Champs, Boys Like Girls, and more, not to mention delivering electric performances at Lollapalooza, Sad Summer, Slam Dunk, Download, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, and beyond.

LØLØ’s journey began long before she became the pop-rock force we know today – with 150M+ global streams under her belt. Growing up with an eclectic CD collection, she picked up the guitar at a young age and never looked back. Emerging in 2018, she gained a devoted following with heartfelt lyrics and catchy pop-rock melodies. With three EPs, ‘Sweater Collection’ (2019), ‘overkill’ (2021), and ‘debbie downer’ (2022), she made waves, especially with her cover of “Dancing in the Dark” (29M Spotify streams) and “u turn me on (but u give me depression)” (16M streams). Her 2024 debut album, ‘falling for robots and wishing I was one’ is a glimpse into her mind, blending personal experiences with her signature alt-rock sound.

Additional SURFILMUSIC documentary and soundtrack details will be announced next year. Watch the first trailer HERE.

For the soundtrack, Hermanos Gutiérrez, longtime admirers of Johnson’s music and surf films, joined him in the studio, where Johnson also reunited with producer Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Seu Jorge, Beck), who co-produced several of Johnson’s most beloved albums, including In Between Dreams and Sleep Through the Static. What began as a mutual appreciation quickly turned into a creative connection and friendship, resulting in a beautiful new song, “Hold On To The Light” and an original film score. Their collaboration will extend to the stage next summer and fall, with the brothers opening for Johnson on many of the dates.

November 7 Declared Music Creator Day in Canada, Honouring Iconic Singer-Songwriter Joni Mitchell

0

Today, SOCAN launched Music Creator Day to celebrate Canadian music and the talented songwriters, composers and music publishers who make it possible. This year marks SOCAN’s 100th anniversary of championing Canadian music creators — empowering them to tell our stories, enrich our culture, and earn a living from their craft.

Acknowledged by the Honourable Senator René Cormier on November 4 in the Senate, and Member of Parliament David Myles in the House of Commons on November 6, from now on, November 7 will be recognized annually as Music Creator Day, coinciding with the birthday of iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. A Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and recipient of the 2025 SOCAN Cultural Impact Award, the date pays tribute to her contributions and stands as a lasting legacy for the next generation of music creators.

“Thank you for honouring my work in this manner,” said Joni Mitchell. “Although I have lived mostly in the States since I was 21, I live part-time in BC. I have always been proud to be a Canadian and lately more than ever.”

“Supporting our artists means supporting our culture, our creative economy and the living heritage of our country,” said the Honourable Senator René Cormier. “By celebrating our creators, we affirm who we are: a country that believes in the power of art and artists.”

A recent survey of Canadians conducted by Pollara for SOCAN about the value of music creation in culture highlights:

  • Local music is a cornerstone of Canadian identity:
    • 81% of Canadians believe supporting local music creators is vital to ensuring our culture thrives for future generations.
    • 77% say local music helps define Canadian culture, with 83% of Quebecers especially likely to agree.
  • Canadian music strengthens our global image:
    • 78% agree that local music being played around the world helps strengthen Canada’s cultural image internationally.
  • Music makes Canada more vibrant:
    • 75% of Canadians feel the country is stronger and more vibrant because of its deep roots in music creation and history of producing great music.
  • Human-created music matters deeply to Canadians:
    • A resounding 87% say it’s important that the music they listen to is created by humans–not AI–with 65% saying it’s very important.

Beginning in 2026, SOCAN Foundation will introduce three grants of up to $10,000 each to support organizations with programs or projects that celebrate and empower music creators in Canada. Applications will open on the SOCAN Foundation website in January.

“These findings reaffirm what we’ve always known, that music is part of who we are as Canadians. It shapes our identity, strengthens our voice in the world, and connects us to one another,” said Jennifer Brown, SOCAN CEO. “We must meet this moment by investing in the people who make our music possible, so Canadian creativity continues to lead at home and on the world stage. It is our commitment, and our responsibility, to build a future where human creativity thrives – that is what Music Creator Day is all about – ensuring the people who make the music we love are supported, valued, and heard.”

Nat & Alex Wolff Announce Self-Titled Album and Drop Radiant New Single “Tough”

0

Nat & Alex Wolff set the stage for a thrilling new era with the announcement of their self-titled album ‘Nat & Alex Wolff’ out January 16 via Coup D’Etat Recordings and Broke Records, and the release of the luminous new single “Tough.” Written across Australia, Norway, and Athens during a busy stretch of film work, the record channels classic 60s and 70s folk and rock through a vivid modern lens. The brothers lean into tight songwriting, lived-in storytelling, and immediate performances that feel close, warm, and alive.

Produced by Tone Def with additional production from Sachi DiSerafino, Dirty Dave, and Danes Blood, the album captures a full-circle creative spark. Bare acoustic moments glow beside spacious, atmospheric cuts, all anchored by striking melodies and steady, unhurried grooves. The single “Tough” opens the door with graceful hooks and the kind of detail-rich lyrics that define great singer-songwriter pop.

The duo continues a remarkable run that includes favorites like “Jack,” “Empty House,” “If You Never Left Me,” and the 2024 standouts “Soft Kissing Hour” and “Backup Plan.” Their 2023 release ‘Table for Two’ reintroduced a fearless, fully formed voice, followed by an intimate collaboration with Billie Eilish on “Soft Kissing Hour” and a turn as direct support on her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour. The new album gathers that momentum into a confident statement of craft, heart, and growth.
