Ollie Cook Signs to Hand In Hive and Shares Infectious New Single “Home Video”

0

Rising singer-songwriter Ollie Cook has officially signed to London tastemaker label Hand In Hive (home to Divorce, TV Priest, and Wyldest) and shared his shimmering new single “Home Video,” out now. Performing with his band, The Hogwash, Cook describes his sound as “Brumicana Dad Rock,” pairing heartfelt alt-country storytelling with slacker-rock energy. Recorded in makeshift studios and free-to-use booths around his university campus, the track captures the raw spirit of DIY creativity and the charm that has made Cook one of the UK’s most exciting new names.

On “Home Video,” Cook blends witty, reflective lyrics with crunchy guitars and a propulsive rhythm section, topped off by a front-and-center solo that channels the warmth of 90s rock. Its nostalgic video expands that aesthetic, drawing influence from Pavement and Sparklehorse while carving out a lane entirely his own. “‘Home Video’ is about old memories, old bands and what not to feel or do as time passes us by,” says Cook. “It’s somewhat of a stepping off point for the attached, pushing ourselves into the future, unforgivably.” With more live shows and new music on the horizon for 2026, Ollie Cook is fast becoming a fresh and fearless voice in the new wave of British Americana-infused indie.

St. Paul’s doom/death metal juggernaut Red Vinter return with their brutal new music video “Still Beating,” taken from their debut album ‘Lumbering Menace.’ The clip delivers a visceral fusion of crushing riffs, haunting imagery, and raw emotion that defines the band’s heavy, uncompromising sound. “’Still Beating’ is one of the most visceral tracks we’ve ever recorded — it’s about survival when everything around you says give up,” says bassist and vocalist Mike Bullock. “The visuals hit just as hard as the song itself.”

With their next album ‘Kill The Sun’ already in progress, Red Vinter are gearing up for an unstoppable run. Their fall schedule includes a September gig with Northern Hammer at Mankato’s Kato Ballroom, an October support slot for VolsungaSaga’s record release show, and a spring return to Minnesota’s premier doom and sludge event, Sinkfest II. Featuring Mike Bullock, J LeBrasseur, Dylan Jones, and James Achilles, Red Vinter are proving that the heart of doom metal in the Midwest is very much “Still Beating.”

Everly Lux Unveils New Single “Three-Legged Dog” Ahead of Upcoming LP

0

Montreal-based experimental folk-pop artist Everly Lux returns November 10 with her new single “Three-Legged Dog,” a lo-fi folk song that blends poetic introspection with the grit of classic jamspace rock and available for pre-save here. Inspired by the dusty warmth of Elliott Smith and Beck, as well as Duster’s Clay Parton, the track captures both the intimacy and wanderlust of Lux’s evolving sound. “Three-Legged Dog is the rock anthem of Everly Lux,” she says. “It was a way for me to show my dusty jamspace roots and my vagabond essence, allowing my classical guitar to pass as a travelling acoustic guitar for the campfire.”

The song’s origin traces back to a zine launch in a Montreal backyard, one of those grassroots art gatherings that celebrate community and creation. “The yard was packed with young artists of all kinds,” Lux recalls. “It felt as if my gaze had changed — as if my view on the world morphed. I was changing, as a woman, lover and singer, and it was all in front of my eyes. It felt both sublime and whimsical, reminding me of Herman Hesse’s Steppenwolf and his journey into a magical old city. I noticed a three-legged dog lying on the ground. The dog contributed to the dream-like character of the scene.”

“Three-Legged Dog” also marks the rekindling of Lux’s creative partnership with Montreal songwriter André Charles Thériault of the band Laughing. “I originally met Andre when I was 20 years old,” she says. “Andre became my idol over the years, as I have been completely in love with his simple yet devastating poetry and unique folk sound.” Their reunion, after years apart, has reignited Lux’s artistic energy and deepened her connection to the Montreal scene.

Country Outlaw Dalton Davis Drops Music Video for “Cows In The Front Yard”

North Carolina’s own Dalton Davis unleashes the official music video for his latest single “Cows In The Front Yard,” directed by Ben Christensen, known for his work with Zara and Harley Davidson. Released through MCA/Republic Records, the video captures Dalton’s rebellious spirit and authentic Southern storytelling. “I always love working with Ben Christensen. He is able to bring my wild visions to life even better than I can imagine them myself,” says Dalton. “I’m over the moon with what we were able to do with the ‘Cows In The Front Yard’ video and can’t wait for my mama and everyone else to see it.”

Following the audio release, Dalton’s signing to MCA/Republic Records made headlines in Billboard and earned praise from outlets like Holler, Country Central, Mundane, and Country Swag. The single quickly found a home on major playlists including Amazon’s Breakthrough Country, Spotify’s Next In Nashville, and Apple Music’s Country Risers. With its blend of outlaw grit and soulful storytelling, “Cows In The Front Yard” cements Dalton as one of country’s most exciting new voices.

Born in Gastonia, North Carolina, Dalton’s life story is as textured as his sound. Raised in rural America, adopted by touring gospel artists, and mentored by hip-hop engineers, he’s built a style that bridges raw tradition with modern energy. Having shared the stage with country heavyweights like Brantley Gilbert, Ashley McBryde, and Dwight Yoakam, Dalton is now carving his own lane in Nashville. “Cows In The Front Yard” isn’t just a song—it’s a declaration that country music’s future is as wild, soulful, and genuine as its past.

Holly Humberstone Returns with Gothic New Single “Die Happy”

0

Holly Humberstone unveils her haunting new single “Die Happy,” a dark and cinematic love song that blurs the line between passion and peril. Directed by Silken Weinberg, known for her work with Ethel Cain, the visualiser feels like a moonlit fairytale—brooding, beautiful, and full of danger. “I wrote Die Happy thinking about a fairytale at night, somewhere between driving fast with the windows down and wandering through a crumbling old house,” says Holly. “I took inspiration from The Bloody Chamber and Dracula and I wanted to show the feeling of throwing yourself into love fully and recklessly. There is danger in love.”

Since her breakout EP ‘Falling Asleep At The Wheel’, Holly has carved a cinematic world that feels both deeply personal and universal, taking her from her family home in Grantham to massive stages like Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Wembley Stadium alongside Taylor Swift. “Die Happy” continues her evolution as one of the UK’s most vivid storytellers, balancing gothic romance with emotional truth.

Now 25, Holly embraces a new era of confidence and maturity. “In order to feel extreme happiness, you have to know extreme sadness,” she says. Following her BRIT Rising Star win and the success of ‘Paint My Bedroom Black’, Holly’s upcoming run of headline shows and Australian tour with Sam Fender promise a bold, transformative new chapter. “Die Happy” marks the beginning of that next adventure—aching, fearless, and utterly unforgettable.

Lawrence broke the news on Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast, sharing that she and Emma Stone are co-producing the project with Tony winner Cole Escola writing the script. “I don’t know if I can announce this, but I am just going to,” said Lawrence. “Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it.”

When asked whether she and Stone plan to appear in the film together, Lawrence teased, “I think so. Progressive Rock Titans TROPE Ignite with New Single ‘Sigil’ and Announce Double Album ‘DYAD’

0

Progressive alternative rock band Trope return with a stunning new single, ‘Sigil’ — a raw, fearless anthem about defying doubt and holding faith in yourself when the world says you can’t. Out now, ‘Sigil’ marks the first release from their upcoming double album ‘DYAD,’ set to arrive in early 2026.

Written and recorded in part in London, Ontario, ‘Sigil’ was crafted in a tiny 400 sq. ft. cabin during a cold winter, giving the song its intimate, emotionally charged tone. “Growing up with voices that said I couldn’t be a singer, I struggled with internal resistance and fear of failure which became a source of inspiration – a reminder that it’s okay to fail, to stumble, and to keep trying,” says vocalist Diana Studenberg.

Producer and guitarist Moonhead shares that this project is as indie and authentic as it gets: “’Sigil,’ and the whole of DYAD, is truly an indie handmade thing. No fancy studios, no big team. Just two people and a few favours from people we respect to guest on the album (Drummers Gavin Harrison and Gunnar Olsen). We made this thing in living rooms, makeshift spaces, through thrift store speakers and old friends’ couches.”

Musically, ‘Sigil’ is a sonic journey — blending soaring melodies, intricate rhythms, and massive riffs with acoustic interludes and an electrifying mantra finale. It continues the band’s evolution from their acclaimed 2021 debut ‘Eleutheromania,’ maintaining Trope’s trademark fusion of cinematic atmosphere and technical precision.

Trope’s upcoming double album ‘DYAD’ will arrive in Spring 2026, mastered again by Ted Jensen and featuring guest performances by Harrison and Olsen. Until then, ‘Sigil’ stands tall as a triumphant reminder to keep going — to fail boldly, rise again, and make something beautiful out of the struggle.
