Chas Collins Premieres High-Energy Video for New Single ‘Slam Bam’ on ACN

0

Country powerhouse Chas Collins brings the party to the screen with the official video for his latest single ‘Slam Bam,’ premiering today on ACN | American Country Network. The track’s cranked-up energy and good-time spirit shine through every frame, airing all November on the network dedicated to celebrating the best in country music videos. Written by Collins with Douglas Gery and produced alongside Tommy Harden, ‘Slam Bam’ is a punchy, windows-down jam that captures the thrill of barroom nights, bonfire hangs, and endless backroad drives. “‘Slam Bam’ is all about having a good time,” Collins says. “It’s about good company, great moments, and rolling with whatever the night brings.”

Anchored by swaggering guitars, a driving groove, and Collins’ unmistakable Southern-rock firepower, ‘Slam Bam’ was released through 2911 Label Group / The Label Group (Virgin Music) and premiered exclusively via The Music Universe. The single follows his 2025 streak of fan-favorite hits “She Gave Me That Look” and “No Place I’d Rather Be,” the latter spending two weeks at #1 on Taste of Country’s Weekly Top 10. With ‘Slam Bam,’ Collins cements his place as one of country music’s most electrifying rising voices — the soundtrack to every Friday night that turns into a story worth telling.

Julian Lage Announces New Album ‘Scenes from Above’ Out January 23, 2026

0

Guitar virtuoso Julian Lage has announced the January 23 release of Scenes from Above, his fifth Blue Note album, the second made in collaboration with revered producer Joe Henry, and his first with a striking new quartet featuring keyboardist John Medeski, bassist Jorge Roeder, and drummer Kenny Wollesen. The album is introduced today with the gorgeous invocation “Opal” which is accompanied by a live performance video.

Where 2024’s GRAMMY-nominated Speak to Me was Lage’s grand statement as an improvising bandleader helming an ensemble through a diverse set of tunes, Scenes from Above is about being a band member himself, about Lage exploring the tunes he has written with a crew he has built with that entirely in mind. Its nine tracks frame a brilliantly open experience, with four astounding players giving and taking space in equal measure as they explore these songs in one space, in real time.

“I came in with a desire to present this as an egalitarian thing, rather than ‘I’m the leader — let’s build something around me,’” Lage says. “This is music that’s connected to our own growth and development individually and within our relationships with one another, with no sense that anybody’s expecting anything.”

The album’s nine compositions resulted from what Lage calls a writing sprint ahead of a residency at SFJAZZ which marked the live debut of the band. As he thought about each of their qualities as players and hypothesized about how they might interact, he set a timer for 20 minutes, wrote a tune, recorded it once, and then began again. “My dream with composing, really, is to have something to talk about once we’re together,” he says. “It’s not the end-all, be-all.”

“Julian really thinks about things, has a lot of intention,” says Medeski. “But it’s a beautiful combination of caring about the concept and direction and of being free and in the moment.” Scenes from Above radiates both qualities in tandem, and that’s what makes the album so poignant and timely.

Scenes from Above is available for pre-order now on black vinyl, CD, and digital download, as well as a color vinyl variant available exclusively on the Julian Lage Artist Store and the Blue Note Store.

The track listing for Scenes from Above is as follows:

1. Opal (Lage)
2. Red Elm (Lage)
3. Talking Drum (Lage)
4. Havens (Lage)
5. Night Shade (Lage)
6. Solid Air (Lage)
7. Ocala (Lage)

0

Following the release of her new single “High,” internationally acclaimed artist and actress Grace VanderWaal has shared the song’s official music video — a mesmerizing visual directed and edited by Palmer Wells, with choreography by Kali Hightower. The film’s movement and imagery echo the emotional rhythm of the track, weaving grounded expression with ethereal detail. VanderWaal’s natural magnetism shines through every frame, creating an intimate and hypnotic atmosphere that invites viewers into her quietly captivating world.

“High” captures the warmth of nostalgia and fleeting moments of bliss through vivid lyrics like “white sugar in iced tea and porch light.” “I went into the studio with no idea what I was going to write,” says VanderWaal. “I just started singing, ‘Do you wanna get high?’ and from there the idea came to make a song about those moments where everything already feels perfect.” The track marks the first new release since her deeply personal album CHILDSTAR, continuing her evolution as an artist unafraid to explore healing, vulnerability, and self-discovery through sound and storytelling.
