Folk Noir Visionary Coyle Girelli Unveils Haunting New Single “Lost To The River” From His Album ‘Out Of This Town’

Coyle Girelli releases his powerful new single “Lost to the River”, out now and glowing with dark beauty, sweeping emotion and vintage folk ballad magic. The track features Grammy nominated singer songwriter KT Tunstall and taps into a rich mid century rock n roll spirit that gives it a timeless glow. The music moves with a haunting energy that comes to life in a video filled with surreal, late night atmosphere.

“Lost to the River” is the third single from Girelli’s album ‘Out of This Town’, out now on Sun Records. The album collects 12 songs co written with legendary Mac Davis, whose influence shapes the sound with classic depth and heartfelt simplicity. The project is available on vinyl, CD and across all streaming services and presents a cross generational collaboration rooted in storytelling and shared musical instinct.

Girelli reflects on the partnership with emotion and gratitude. He says, “The songs I wrote with Mac opened my mind in an incredible way, and I realized this was the type of music my voice was built to sing.” On “Lost to the River”, his powerful baritone blends with Tunstall’s delicate harmony vocals as the story rises toward a dramatic peak. The narrative follows longing, desperation and the pull of dreams beyond a small town. Tunstall shares, “It’s a beautiful song – beautiful melody and lyrics, and it was perfect for the two of us to sing on together. So delicate and haunting. I was very honored to be a part of such a lovely project with Coyle, who is just so talented. Hopefully Mac is smiling down on us.”

The album captures the spirit of the unfinished songs Girelli and Davis explored together in LA eleven years ago. Girelli revisited the material with care, preserving the intimacy of the early demos while adding soft atmospheric touches. Along with KT Tunstall, the record features standout duet moments with Jaime Wyatt and Cassandra Lewis that add depth and texture to the project. ‘Out of This Town’ explores themes of heartbreak, longing and restless dreams that sit at the heart of rock n roll tradition and reflect the legacy of Sun Records.

Coyle Girelli continues to evolve as a genre crossing artist whose work spans alt rock, folk and theatrical music. DJ Premier and Roc Marciano spark huge excitement across hip hop with their upcoming collaborative project ‘The Coldest Profession’, out now. British-Sudanese soul sensation, Elmiene is back on the scene with his latest body of work Heat The Streets Some Mo’ remix EP – a four song extension of his acclaimed Heat The Streets mixtape featuring remixes from legendary rapper Ghostface Killah, Grammy-Award Winning singer/songwriter Muni Long, and singer/songwriter Jordan Ward. Sekou Releases Mixtape ‘In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1’ Featuring Breakout Single “Love Language”
Following his re-emergence earlier this year, British singer/songwriter Sekou unveils his mixtape In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1. Showcasing his signature sound and musical warmth, the mixtape features lead single ‘Love Language’. The 5-track project arrives ahead of his headline show next week (20th November) at London’s Bush Hall, which sold out in minutes.

Commencing with recently released tracks ‘Never Gunna Give You Up’ and ‘Catching Bodies’, we are welcomed in with an immediately joyous prowess. From the offset, Sekou invites the listener into a world of protected and provoked vulnerability, depicted with undeniable, loyal strength.

With a slowed tempo we move through the mixtape, reaching lead single ‘Love Language’, an emotional ballad encouraged to be heard gently. The single, which premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record last night, asks for reciprocity, both through its lyricism and softness, evoking an inherent innocence for requited desires. ‘Love Language’ is accompanied by its official video, which exudes a contradictory modern yet nostalgic energy throughout.

Coming to a close, the mixtape finishes with ‘About Last Night’ and ‘Keep My Love’, countering in complexion. Penultimate track ‘About Last Night’ continues the toe tapping melodies found earlier in the project, and is effortlessly balanced with final ballad ‘Keep My Love’, a heartfelt, transparent, and groundbreaking single showcasing a maturity far beyond Sekou’s young years. 

The arrival of In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1comes at a pivotal point in Sekou’s career, having taken the time to carefully craft the foundations for greatness. The 21-year-old made the Top 10 shortlist of BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024 poll, has completed standout performances on Later… with Jools Holland and 2025’s TIFF Tribute Awards, and also made history as the youngest ever BRIT nominee, with a Rising Star Award nomination. No stranger to connecting with his musical peers and inspirations, Sekou has collaborated with huge names in the game including Justin Bieber, Central Cee, Kevin Abstract, and recently earned praise from Elton John. Most recently, the 21-year-old opened for FLO, which saw him raise the roof at venues across the UK and Europe including London’s O2 Brixton Academy with a performance described as “perfect” by CLASHMagazine.

Today, history-making multiplatinum Australian alt-rock and punk / pop band 5 Seconds of Summer have released their sixth full-length studio album EVERYONE’S A STAR! available everywhere now via Republic Records. Alongside today’s release, the band releases an official music video for stand out single “Telephone Busy,” directed by acclaimed director Frank Borin (Harry Styles, Zayn Malik).

5 Seconds of Summer, made up of Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin, have grown from local high school friends into one of the most successful bands of the 21st century. Over the past fourteen years, the group has sold more than 18 million albums, moved six million tickets worldwide, generated over 10 billion streams, and earned three Billboard 200 #1 debuts, while collecting major accolades at the ARIA Awards, MTV EMAs, and MTV VMAs.

Recorded across 2024 and 2025 between Los Angeles and Nashville, EVERYONE’S A STAR! finds the band confidently stepping into a new era. Earlier this month, the band announced their ‘EVERYONE’S A STAR!’ world tour kicking off in March with a European and UK leg running through May, followed by U.S. dates from May to August including shows at New York City’s famed venue Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, with a second show at MSG added due to high demand. The tour will conclude in the band’s home country of Australia next fall. Alongside the tour announcement, the band released the high-energy single “Telephone Busy,” following the fan-favorite track “Boyband,” an ode to their fans and a playful nod to the label they’ve carried throughout their careers. Both singles followed the powerful lead track “NOT OK,” which was accompanied by an official music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis (Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne) – watch here!

To launch the new era, 5 Seconds of Summer surprised fans in Los Angeles with a pop-up performance that shut down Sunset Boulevard. Announced only hours before showtime, thousands of fans filled the streets to experience the beginning of the band’s next chapter. During the event, the band performed hits like “Youngblood,” “She Looks So Perfect,” and “Teeth,” alongside new songs from EVERYONE’S A STAR! including “NOT OK,” “Boyband,” “Telephone Busy,” “No.1 Obsession,” and the album’s explosive title track, “Everyone’s A Star!”
