Hope Solo to Launch New SiriusXM Podcast – Hope Solo Speaks

0

SiriusXM announced today that Hope Solo, the World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist goalkeeper, will launch a new and original SiriusXM podcast, Hope Solo Speaks, that will debut across all podcast platforms March 2. A trailer for the new podcast can be heard HERE.

Solo will bring the same energy and passion she displayed on the soccer pitch to the microphone as she discusses a variety of topics on her mind, including her relentless fight for women’s rights and gender equality, motherhood and family, changing trends in sports and much more. Solo will be joined on episodes of the podcast by guests from various walks of life including world-class athletes, artists, and influencers for candid conversations on their experiences, passions and topics of the day.

Listeners can hear new episodes of the Hope Solo Speaks podcast every Wednesday on the SXM App, Stitcher, Pandora and other major podcast listening platforms. Hope Solo Speaks will also air on SiriusXM’s dedicated soccer channel, SiriusXM FC (channel 157), which subscribers nationwide can listen to in their car and on the SXM App.

In this week’s debut episode, Solo will discuss the recently settled equal pay dispute between U.S. Soccer and the U.S. Women’s National Team, and will be joined by special guest and her former teammate, Carli Lloyd. Highlights from the episode include:

“The reason for my sadness, the reason I feel gutted, kicked in the stomach, the reason why I feel betrayed and a bit hopeless is because the settlement is pathetic.” – Hope Solo

“After fighting for years for equal pay starting in 2015, the players still went on and agreed to a less than equal CBA. They continued to believe in the promises of the federation. They were outclassed, out maneuvered, and then finally, after pumping the brakes and doing a 180 in the fight of our life, they decided to show up to the party and they got hustled.” – Hope Solo

“It was really tough and challenging to play these last several years. To be quite honest I hated it. It wasn’t fun going in. It was only for love of the game, really, for me. I wanted to win and wanted to help the team, but the culture within the team was the worst I had ever seen it.” – Carli Lloyd

“The perceptions of me have been off target time and time again, and now it is time for me to speak my truths on my new SiriusXM podcast, Hope Solo Speaks,” said Solo. “Most people know me as a two-time Olympian and World Cup champion goalkeeper, but I am so much more than that and can’t wait to dive into the most important issues in sports and beyond with my weekly guests and listeners.”

“Throughout her illustrious playing career, Hope was always one of the most candid and spirited voices among her peers, and now she’ll be one of the most outspoken voices in podcasting,” said Steve Cohen, SiriusXM’s SVP of Sports Programming and Podcasts.  “Her experiences in life and sports give her an important perspective on many matters on and off the field, and we’re looking forward to her sharing what’s on her mind on Hope Solo Speaks.”

Solo is the most decorated goalkeeper in U.S. soccer history, having amassed 202 appearances, 153 wins and 102 shutouts, all of which remain U.S. Women’s National Team records. Solo was the starting goalkeeper for the 2015 World Cup champion U.S. Women’s National Team, as well as Team U.S.A.’s 2008 and 2012 Olympic gold medal winning teams. Since stepping away from the pitch in 2016, Solo has looked outside the world of soccer to continue to make her mark and has assumed a prominent role in the fight for women’s rights and gender equality.

SXM Media, the combined advertising revenue organization of Sirius XM Holdings Inc., has exclusive global ad sales rights to Hope Solo Speaks. Access to this podcast for brands and marketers is only available through the advertising and sales arm of SiriusXM, Stitcher, and Pandora.

Travis Announce Select US Tour Dates For November 2022

0

Multi-platinum Scottish rock band Travis are going on tour this November in select US cities, with tickets and VIP packages on sale Friday, March 4th via the band’s website attravisonline.com. The tour includes show dates in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City and Washington DC. The select string of performances are set to commemorate the 20th anniversary reissue of their worldwide chart topping album The Invisible Band, now available as a deluxe box set, as well as LP, CD, and digital formats via Craft Recordings.

Earlier this year, Travis were forced to cancel their extensive US tour dates due to an unexpected hand injury incurred when frontman Fran Healy rescued a dog caught amongst a multi-car accident outside of his home. Following Fran’s recovery, the band are excited to announce new select tour dates in the US for the fall and hope to return for more shows across the States in 2023.

In his own words, Healy shares, “In an attempt to save a dog, my finger was mashed up and so we had to cancel the April 2022 US tour. Now, we’re happy to announce 5 dates in the US in November. We will come around again for more but our recording schedule meant we could only do part of the tour. We look forward to seeing you there.”

On getting to revisit the album with a tour, Healy also remarked “To support the reissue of The Invisible Band on vinyl on its 20th birthday we are excited to bring it all back home… well, home to where the album was recorded, to the US. It’s been such a long time since we toured America. We cannot wait to get out there and play the album live.”

Travis has recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show with a performance of their major hit single “Sing” from The Invisible Band. The electric performance of “Sing” took place inside the historic Saint Luke’s Church in Glasgow. Clarkson showed her appreciation for the musical guests, citing the longevity of Travis’ career as a “mainstay on the British rock scene for decades.” The band also recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The Invisible Band is an iconic album from Travis, one that inspired the careers of Keane and Coldplay, along with many others, while charting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and holding rank on the Billboard 200 Chart for seven weeks in the US. After only one year of the album’s release, it was certified 4x platinum, marking Travis as one of the most influential bands of the era.

The deluxe reissue of The Invisible Band is out now and features the original album remastered by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Emily Lazar, as well as original B-sides, previously unreleased demos, live sessions and alternate takes.

The special limited-edition 20th Anniversary box set features the material across two CDs and two 180-gram, ultra-clear vinyl LPs, cut at London’s Air Studios. The set includes an extensive book with unseen session photography, handwritten lyrics and essays from the band plus contributions from the original producer Nigel Godrich. A limited number of hand-numbered postcards, signed by all four of the band, are available via the Travis official store here.

The Invisible Band reissue is also available on standard black vinyl for the first time on the format since its original release. A limited green vinyl pressing is available via independent record stores, as well as a 2-CD standard edition.

Formed in Glasgow in 1990, Travis (Fran Healy, vocals, guitar; Andy Dunlop, lead guitar; Dougie Payne, bass; Neil Primrose, drums) came of age during Britpop’s heyday, but always stood at a remove from that scene’s barely contained mania. When the Britpop hangover kicked in at the end of the ’90s, Travis’ gentle, uplifting songs were the perfect antidote for the chaos of the preceding years. From its title on down, Good Feeling set the mood: an upbeat album unafraid to wear its emotions on its sleeve. By the time Travis took to Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in 1999, delivering a career-defining performance, they were poised to become household names, opening the door for a new generation of introspective songwriters to come through.

Entering the new millennium as one of the biggest bands in the UK following the success of sophomore album, 1999’sThe Man Who (now certified 9x platinum, with over 2.7 million albums sold in the UK), Travis spent the remainder of the ’00s developing their sound without ever forgetting their core commitment to songwriting. The Invisible Band (2001) consolidated the group’s status as the grown-ups’ indie rock band of choice, while 2003’s 12 Memories revealed a newfound electronica influence. 2007’s The Boy With No Name was the band’s most eclectic album to date, and, in the years since, the group have only continued to build on their enduring appeal. 2008’s Ode to J Smith included the fan-favorite single ‘Something Anything’, while Where You Stand (2013) and Everything At Once (2016) returned Travis to the UK Top 5. Travis’ emotionally charged and deeply heartfelt ninth studio album, 10 Songs (2020), marked another new chapter in the band’s extraordinarily prolific and unflappable career. 10 Songs is yet another body of work that showcases the band as one of the UK’s finest song writing exports.

Sat Nov 05 – Los Angeles, CA – Theatre at The Ace

Jewel Marks Her Return With First Studio Album “Freewheelin’ Woman” Out April 15

0

Four-time Grammy-nominated, Multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Jewel announces Freewheelin’ Woman, her first new studio album in seven years due out on April 15th via her own Words Matter Music. The new album presents Jewel’s boldest and most unbridled body of work to date, revealing entirely new dimensions of her breathtaking voice. The Alaskan native also shared her brand new single “Dancing Slow,” featuring Train, who she’ll join on their recently announced North American Summer 2022 tour. Kicking off June 8th in Mansfield, MA, the tour makes 35+ stops including New York, Nashville, Dallas, San Diego, and more before concluding on August 6th at the legendary Red Rocks venue in Colorado, Jewel’s home state.

In sharing the new single, Jewel explains, “‘Dancing Slow’ is ultimately about the ebb and flow of life, and cherishing those moments of certainty that are shared when you’re with a trusted companion. It feels like time slows down for a moment. I’m so glad Train was able to join me on this track, with Pat Monahan’s sweet vocals adding another layer to the melody.”

The follow-up to Jewel’s self-produced and critically praised 2015 album Picking Up the Pieces, Freewheelin’ Woman finds Jewel working with producer Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Gavin DeGraw, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness), dreaming up a soulful and groove-heavy sound partly inspired by the classic R&B records made at Muscle Shoals.

“I cut my teeth on singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan and got into those Muscle Shoals records a little later on, and for some reason that’s where my voice and my writing wanted to go on this album,” says Jewel, who recorded Freewheelin’ Woman live with a full band. Along with lending the album a gritty vitality, that approach helped to capture the unfettered vocal work she’s increasingly brought to her live show in recent years. On “Dance Sing Laugh Love”—the album’s uplifting and luminous centerpiece—Jewel’s vocals hit a particularly thrilling intensity as she shares her insight on living in resistance to cynicism.

“No More Tears” feat. Darius Rucker set the standard for the album’s illuminating quality. In its soul-stirring homage to those who’ve endured hardship of all kinds, the song unfolds in warm gospel harmonies and smoldering piano melodies, taking on an exquisite power as Jewel and Rucker’s vocals merge at the bridge.

Elsewhere on Freewheelin’ Woman, Jewel embodies an irresistibly elated mood. A wildly catchy pop confection, “Alibis” revels in the radiant clarity that comes from conquering heartache, her voice telegraphing a carefree self-possession at the track’s sing-along-ready chorus.

A passionate mental-health advocate who struggled through a period of homelessness as a teenager, Jewel has been working alongside her Foundation, the Inspiring Children Foundation, for nearly two decades to provide mentorship and mental-health resources for at-risk youth. During the pandemic, Jewel expanded her outreach to help those in need build community and connection and, in turn, protect against the silent symptoms of COVID-19: anxiety, depression, and isolation.

Jewel has also partnered with SaksWorks to bring mental health to the workplace. Together with her Foundation, she is creating a curriculum for wellness to create a better work environment.

Jewel went from a girl who grew up with no running water on an Alaskan homestead, to a homeless teenager in San Diego, to an award winning, multi-platinum recording artist who released one of the best-selling debuts of all time. Through her career Jewel has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has earned 26 nominations for such awards as the GRAMMYs, American Music Awards, MTV Awards, VH1 Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and Country Music Awards, winning eight times. Jewel has been featured on the cover of TIME Magazine, Rolling Stone, has performed on Saturday Night Live, at the Super Bowl and the NBA Finals, for the Pope and the President of the United States. She is one of the few singer songwriters to top the chart in every genre she wrote for- Folk, Pop, Club, Country, Standards, Children’s and Holiday music.

Pop/Hip Hop Artist Bryan Bravo Invites Audiences to “Feel Lucky” with New Single

0

When it comes to feel good pop-music lighting up the Canadian music scene, there are few who hold a candle to the production value and energy that multi-talented artist Bryan Bravo brings to his new single, “Feel Lucky” and album, Be Mine — both available now.

“‘Be Mine’ captivates and embraces a euphoric state of mind,” the Toronto-based artist shares. “Infatuated with the idea of love, and how deep it will go… Finding oneself at a standstill, unable to lose themselves completely, evoking the thought ‘why you gotta be inside my mind?’”

Finding a personal stake in the lyrics and their coupling with the production led the songwriter to a sentimental place during the creative process.

“When you’re caught in the recycled motions of a relationship, things are no longer what they’re made out to be,” he reveals. “Eventually you are breaking away completely and renouncing all feelings of love — and your insecurities fade, only to surrender oneself to the pursuit of love once again – ‘will you be mine?’”

It’s these vulnerable moments skillfully captured in his music that really strengthen Bryan Bravo’s standing; at seven tracks strong, Be Mine translates many ways depending on the listener’s prior relationships, fueling it’s replay ability.

Bryan Bravo’s prior experience performing live and producing music has led to the innate fine tuning he possesses in his craft, and this suave sonic specialty is what makes listening to Be Mine so exciting. An emotional hook paired expertly with expressive storytelling, Bravo delivers a truly worthwhile listening experience overall.

Having always held a passion for writing lyrics and creating songs, the rapper, songwriter, singer and artist eventually joined the hip hop group, Mindful MCs. He went on to perform within the greater Toronto area; features at venues like Workman Arts, CAMH, Revival, and Hot Docs Cinema eventually led to Bravo recording the song “Mentally Healthy” in 2018 and, from there, he released a series of singles and EPs.

Toronto’s Chris Caulfield Releases Stunning New Rock/Hip Hop “Stockholm Syndrome” Single

0

Toronto’s Chris Caulfield is a multi-talented singer/songwriter with eccentric harmonies and punchy composition and continues to defy genre conventions with a cerebral trip to the hottest neon nightclub of your dreams in his latest single, “Stockholm Syndrome.”

He’s also an artist who has come a long way to get where he is.

The profoundly personal lyrics and concept come from an artist who has grappled with their own demons in life. Having spent most of his life dealing with chronic pain, and the cumulative toll it can have on one’s mental health, the COVID pandemic challenged both the world, as well as Caulfield as he dealt with his own personal anguish.

Determined, he set up his home studio and dove headfirst into his music — dreaming up what is now coming to life. “The pandemic was like a tipping point for me,” he shares. “I started properly taking control of anxiety and depression, and music became my outlet.”

Chris Caulfield has since turned the tide in his favour, securing himself on hundreds of curated Spotify lists and working on multiple projects across the Canadian music scene.

Playing off the literal definition of falling for your captor, “Stockholm Syndrome” uses it as a metaphor for the complicated relationship people have with the hazards and benefits of drug use. The song seamlessly weaves the grittiness of rock music with after-dark hip-hop vibes to generate a natural rhythmic response in the listener. The quality of the composition is further established by excellent production values that are typically associated with veteran recording studios.

Themes of substance use and confronting mental health deterioration are prominently explored in “Stockholm Syndrome,” and embedded within the refined harmonies are lyrics that pull no punches. Blink, and you might miss the multi-level analogies, ranging from the most famous Disturbed song lyric, to an infamous quote from The Shining.

As Caulfield puts it, the song “refers to the concept of just time going by being the enemy.”

“I’m down with the sick again
I’m playing this game again
Hours and hours turn me into dull boy
Diggin and power drillin’ in my skull boy
Somebody tell ‘em that I found a way
To fight the undertow, out of my brain”

“The song is in the context of medications and drugs,” he adds, “and how they can both help and hurt the user.”

“Stockholm Syndrome” follows the path alongside other upcoming songs Caulfield currently has filed under the well-suited working title, Catharsis. At large, the works stem from his relentless pursuit to tell authentic stories with both his distinct vocal style and meticulous attention to musical detail on full display.

Brooks & Dunn Will Return To Arenas For The First Time In Over A Decade

0

he best-selling duo of all time, Brooks & Dunn are returning to arenas, announcing their REBOOT 2022 TOUR today. Kicking off in Evansville, IN on 5/5 the nationwide tour will see the duo hit some cities and venues for the first time in over a decade, and some in over 20 years. Brooks & Dunn has curated a stacked lineup across the run with openers including Gabby Barrett, Jordan Davis, Riley Green, Walker Hayes, Jon Pardi and more.

“Last year we fired up the buses and ‘let it roll’ again,” shared Kix Brooks. “Thanks for reminding us how you guys can shake every stage we walk on to…damn, it feels good to be back with ya! Bring it! We’ll meet you there!”

“It is our full intent to step onto the stage each night and throw down like the wildest honky tonk you’ve never been to…yet,” added Ronnie Dunn. “Don’t be concerned about the mess left afterwards, y’all just enjoy yourselves and we’ll worry about that later.”

With 20 No. 1 hits stretching back to 1991, two GRAMMY awards, dozens of ACM and CMA honors and a discography counting more album sales than any duo in history – regardless of genre – Brooks & Dunn’s influence on today’s country has never been in question. Hits like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Maria” and “Believe” have propelled the duo to more than 30 million albums sold, with the New York Times heralding “together they helped drive the power-country era of the early-to-mid 1990s and continued to benefit from the sea change in the genre they helped initiate right through their most recent albums.” Their original “Merle Haggard meets The Rolling Stones” vibe made them progressive stars in their own right. The duo’s recently released collaboration project REBOOT debuted at No. One on Billboard’s Top Country Albums. The impressive feat marks the first time the duo has topped the album charts since 2009 while simultaneously earning the duo their 10th Billboard 200 Top 10 album, the most of any country duo or group in the chart’s history. In 2019 the duo was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in the “Modern Era Artist” category. In 2021 Brooks & Dunn undertook their first nationwide tour in ten years with their anticipated The REBOOT 2021 TOUR, as well as wrapped their hugely successful and the longest-running country residency in Las Vegas, “REBA, BROOKS & DUNN: Together in Vegas.”

The Offspring Announce ‘Let The Bad Times Roll’ Tour

0

The Offspring have announced their Let the Bad Times Roll Tour with special guests Radkey and Blame My Youth. Produced by Live Nation, the 18-city tour kicks off on April 26th at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre in San Diego, CA making stops across the U.S. in Salt Lake City, Houston, Boston and more before wrapping up in Milwaukee at The Rave/Eagles Club on May 22nd.

Frequently regarded as one of the best rock bands of all time, The Offspring have garnered a reputation for their unmistakable sound and social comment. The multi-platinum band first achieved worldwide success in the 90’s with the release of their album Smash, which sold over 11 million copies. Following Smash, they continued to release hit after hit, popularizing rock at a mainstream level.

Throughout their career, they’ve sold over a staggering 40 million albums, and toured arenas, and built a global fan base. Let the Bad Times Roll marks the band’s tenth studio album and third album produced by the legendary Bob Rock. True to the irreverence at the core of their rock music, the band and lyricist Dexter Holland took a view to today’s cultural moments and didn’t shy away from creating topical material in this album.

“This album is probably the most cathartic thing we’ve done,” says Holland. “The messages might be dark, but at the end what’s left is that communication is important, working through feelings is important and most of all, hope is important.”

The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band’s lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan “Dexter” Holland, bassist Todd Morse and lead guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman. Over the course of their 38-year career, they have released ten studio albums. Summer Walker Announces ‘The Summer Walker Series’

0

Today, multi-platinum recording artist and singer/songwriter Summer Walker has announced The Summer Walker Series, a limited engagement run of Live Nation produced shows visiting Houston’s 713 Music Hall on March 20th, Chicago’s Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom on March 31st, and Dallas’ The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory on April 16th. Special guests NO1-NOAH and MARVXXL will be featured on all dates with Erica Banks joining as a special guest for the Houston and Dallas shows. Her latest announcement follows five previously announced festival performances including Sol Blume Festival, Broccoli City Festival, Roots Picnic Festival, Wireless Festival Birmingham, and Wireless Festival London.

In 2018, Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Summer Walker arrived on the scene with her emotive single “Girls Need Love.” After the first listen, the young singer left listeners enthralled by her ethereal vocals and searing honesty. The song became an instant success, going triple-platinum and earning the remix treatment from music icon Drake.

Walker’s stardom crescendoed when she released her debut album Over It in 2019. With a fistful of singles at her disposal, including “Playing Games” [2X Platinum] feat. Bryson Tiller and “Come Thru” [1X Platinum] with Usher, Walked evolved into a significant player in the R&B circuit by carving out an outstanding effort for the genre. Associated Press voted the acclaimed project No. 2 on their Top 50 albums list of 2019.

Walker has racked up numerous accolades because of her scorching run with Over It, including two Soul Train Music Awards in 2019 and 2020 for Best New Artist and Album of the Year, respectively. In 2020, she won an iHeart Music Award for Best New R&B Artist and Top R&B Female Artist for Billboard that same year. “Come Thru” and “Playing Games” helped Walker win several ASCAP Awards as well. Last year, she also graced several illustrious magazine covers, including Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians issue, Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players issue.

She also treated fans to her Life on Earth EP, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. In December 2020, she launched her new imprint Ghetto Earth Records in a joint venture with Interscope Records. The first artist she signed was singer/songwriter NO1-NOAH.

Summer upped the ante with her lauded sophomore album Still Over It. Tacked with starry features from SZA, Ari Lennox, and more, the R&B neophyte landed her first Billboard 200 No. 1 album by 166,000 album-equivalent units. Summer’s volcanic debut broke the record for the highest one-week streams by a female R&B act, with 201 million song streams in its opening week. Still Over It was also the first album by a female R&B singer to debut at No. 1 since Solange’s A Seat at the Table in 2016.

Accolades poured down for the perennial star as she landed magazine covers for Spin, Sniffers, and NME. Summer was also awarded Chartbreaker for Billboard’s Woman in Music celebrations.
