Described as āthe most thrillingly nimble ensemble the UK has produced in decadesā by Prog Magazine, & āOrchestral folk at its finestā by Time Out, Moulettes have captivated Canadian audiences on every tour.
After their mainstage performance at Winnipeg Folk Festival, CBC q host Tom Power said they were the best act at the festival that year. That summer they went on to perform at Montreal International Jazz Festival, Mariposa, Calgary and Vancouver folk festivals, Nova Scotiaās Stan Rogers Folk Festival, as well as prestigious theatres such as Palais Montcalm in Quebec City, & Montrealās Theatre Outremont.
āMoulettes are the rare type of group that memorize you with their stunning soundscape, lyrical prowess, and absolutely jaw dropping vocals! A band who keep you captivated and engaged from the first to the last note!ā – Ronnie Brown, Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, Oakville, ON – October 2024
About the track : āThis song started tongue in cheek, just a reminder to extricate ourselves from the digital dimension for some analogue human love time. I had read this quote which struck a chord with me, āAttention is the rarest and purest form of generosityā which I later found was attributed to Simone Weil. Itās really about human communion, the only thing that will get us through this Existathon ā¢
We wanted to a make you a big joyful playground of cheeky references to our favourite bits from the musical time machine- 50ās doo wop, 60ās psychedelic playfulness, & some 80ās bombast amalgamated in to one maximalist sandwich. This is a song to bring the party,ā says Hannah Moule.
This track is part of a larger project, Xenolalia – 55 pieces of music for 5 ensembles.
